The metallic sheen, the pitch-black eyes, exuding a chilling aura, raised its head and unleashed a breath of dragon fire.
"I will not allow you to bully my child!"
"Mard Geer!"
Gajeel stared blankly at his adoptive father—or was it his adoptive dragon? He never expected to see him here.
"Just a mere defeated foe!"
But facing the breath of the Iron Dragon head-on, Acnologia merely seemed to have scratched the surface. He lowered his head and bit down fiercely.
"Count me in as well!"
The scorching air seemed to blacken the space around them, and the crimson Dragon Scales glimmered like the most dazzling flames. With a swift glide, they swept past Acnologia, claws gripping tightly before pinning him to the ground.
"Igneel!?"
Natsu trembled all over. In reality, it wasn't just these two dragons; five dragons emerged from the five Dragon Slayer Mages, as if performing a magic trick.
"Kill!"
Acnologia paid no mind to how many dragons there were; no matter how many came, he would kill them all. When it came to dealing with dragons, he was far more adept than with humans. The Fire Dragon King, Igneel, was indeed powerful enough to stand at the pinnacle of his kind, but he still fell short against this Dragon King. Acnologia seemed to know every move Igneel would make; although he could dodge, he looked down upon doing so and instead exchanged punch after punch with Igneel.
"Roar!"
However, there was more than just Igneel present. A blue light appeared around Igneel, and a whirlwind didn't need to be large—just a slight gust was enough to momentarily halt Acnologia's movements. That brief moment was all Igneel needed.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
If Natsu's Fire Dragon's Iron Fist could shatter a massive rock, then Igneel's fist seemed capable of crushing both air and earth alike. With no reservations, he struck Acnologia with a blow that made even the Demon Dragon gag slightly, blood spilling from his lips.
"Iron Dragon Sword!"
The massive sword shot up into the sky, aimed directly at Acnologia, but everyone could see that Acnologia's claws were firmly gripping the sword's tip.
"Light and Shadow Dragon's Roar!"
Berserkia and Shigadola were already friends, and Sting and Rogue's collaboration was learned from these two dragons. Thus, this could be considered the original dual dragon attack. Its power was indeed immense, even greater than Igneel's roar. The magic of different attributes intertwined and fused, creating a force that seemed capable of crushing everything. Moreover, these two were descending from the air, while the Iron Dragon Sword was below, and the dual roars above combined with Igneel's iron fist allowed Acnologia to be besieged by five dragons in an instant.
"These guys are truly immortal."
Emerald Dragon wore an annoyed expression. It was true; the resurrected dragons were all those who had been close to humans. Although Emerald Dragon had been revived by Newton, it still held a significant disdain for humanity, leading to differing allegiances. However, this was not the time to discuss factions; what mattered most now was survival. Having reflected on life once, Emerald Dragon understood the value of being alive.
"Damn it, why do these guys have dragons inside them?"
Eileen's perspective was different from others. Her goal was not any dragon; her purpose was simply Wendy. Facing Acnologia was merely to ensure Wendy's safety. But now, she wondered why dragons that should have perished hundreds of years ago appeared here—especially within Dragon Slayer Mages. This felt off to Eileen; it seemed there was something she had overlooked. But thinking too much about it wouldn't help; her primary objective remained to drive back Acnologia.
At this moment, everyone could be said to be united in purpose, using all their strength against Acnologia.
"You… are impressive..."
Acnologia's magic power surged once again as his claws dug deep into Igneel's body, leaving a severe wound.
"Igneel!"
Natsu watched the dragon battle unfold before him and urged Haru to fly him over.
"What are you doing here?"
Igneel took a moment to rest while Iron Dragon stepped up. Looking at his son, Igneel felt somewhat displeased.
"Do you know what I..."
"I know what you want."
Igneel waved his claw impatiently.
"But this is not the time for small talk..."
Igneel grabbed Natsu by his scarf.
"I'm busy right now and don't have time for this. If you want to know, isn't there an Alchemist over there? Just give this scarf to him, and he'll tell you everything. Now, take your people and leave!"
With that, Igneel yanked on Natsu's scarf and casually tossed it away. Even with Haru's help, Natsu couldn't withstand the power of a giant dragon and was sent flying far away. In fact, it wasn't just Igneel; the other dragons also threw all the humans out, leaving only a few dragons behind.
"Boring, truly boring."
Acnologia had no intention of stopping; he simply watched as the dragons sent one Mage after another away.
"Do you really think this will allow those guys to survive? They will be destroyed by me sooner or later!"
"While that's true, this world has endured for so long. Destruction isn't that easy, is it?"
Unexpectedly, a voice from within a suit of armor spoke up, teasingly.
"Allow me to introduce myself, Newton..."
"I know. I remember your Puppet."
Acnologia swiped at him with a claw; to him, this thing was no different from a toy that could be easily torn apart.
"I'm truly sorry."
However, the sensation on his claws surprised Acnologia. The seemingly fragile armor held firm against his claws, and the fluctuations of Dragon Slayer Magic on it filled him with distaste.
"Roar!"
Magic coiled around him; even the hardest metal, Acnologia believed, would turn to dust under his claw. Indeed, the armor shattered as expected, fragments falling from the gaps between his claws.
"Is this guy here to make jokes?"
Igneel's expression was one of helplessness.
"Forget it, we..."
"Hmph, I won't be sticking around for this..."
The dragon transformed into Eileen instantly vanished from sight.
