The people of the Ishgar Continent seemed to have returned to the time when they were dominated by the Dragon Race. The pure white body of the dragon, adorned with fiery red mane, streaked across the sky like a shooting star.
"I never expected that they would hold such a terrifying card."
Newton furrowed his brow. A dragon chosen by Jelf would certainly not be an ordinary one. Moreover, their intentions were clear; they aimed to use its incredible speed to destroy all of the Fiss.
"I was planning to save that card for later, but it looks like I have to use it now."
Mavis felt a bit helpless. To her, that card was quite advantageous, but wasting it here...
"If we can eliminate that guy here, then it wouldn't be a waste..."
Newton closed his eyes.
"First Generation, let's think about what they want to achieve by using this dragon. Do they simply want to eliminate our Fiss, or are they trying to undermine our morale?"
"What do you want?"
"A dragon is also quite important for the Albarez Empire, isn't it?"
"But are those kids up to the task?"
Mavis still had some concerns. After all, during the last Eclipse Gate incident, several Dragon Slayer Mages had proven ineffective. While they could hold off a dragon for a moment, defeating one was still a significant challenge.
"They'll be fine; we must trust in their training over the past year..."
The Holy Dragon, transformed by Eileen, was rampaging across the continent, wreaking havoc on Fiss. However, as she reached her next destination, an emerald claw shot out.
"The Iron Fist of the Emerald Dragon!"
Eileen reacted swiftly, retreating just in time to evade the strike, but two figures descended from above.
"White Shadow Dragon's Thread!"
The intertwining beams of black and white struck fiercely against Eileen's back, causing the massive head of the Holy Dragon to bow under the force of the impact. Due to the unique striking properties of Dragon Slayer Magic against dragons, the back of the Holy Dragon was left bloodied.
"Do you think I fear this pain?"
The eyes of the Holy Dragon turned crimson, and the pain brought back some unpleasant memories.
"Holy Dragon's Roar!"
"Emerald Dragon's Roar!"
"Roar of the Fire Dragon!"
"Sky Dragon's Roar!"
"Light Dragon's Roar!"
“Roar of the Shadow Dragon!”
“Iron Dragon's Roar!”
“Poison Dragon's Roar!”
“Thunder Dragon's Roar!”
The Nine Dragons, or two dragons and seven Dragon Slayer Mages, roared simultaneously, unleashing their powers. The magical energy radiated a brilliant white light that seemed to expose the entire continent to its dazzling glow. However, what surprised everyone even more was the sheer terror of this magical force.
“You are still too weak.”
The Holy Dragon looked at the Dragon Slayer Mages before him, his eyes filled with a sense of sorrow.
“I don't think so.”
The Emerald Dragon wiped the corner of his mouth, but his gaze was still filled with deep apprehension. Ever since Newton had taken him in, he had been nurtured with the hope that he could serve as a powerful support. Now, he was almost fully recovered. Yet, looking at his opponent, he felt a hint of the same fear he had faced against the Dragon King years ago.
“This is what makes it interesting; I’m already fired up.”
Natsu was brimming with fighting spirit.
“Don't underestimate me after my training!”
Dragon Power manifested in Natsu, but it wasn't just him; Rogue, Sting, Wendy, and Gajeel also exhibited Dragon Power, with dragon-like scales appearing on their bodies.
"Ha, just like that, you all will eventually become like me," Erin said, her voice low yet audible to everyone, including Newton, who was watching through the surveillance monitor.
"Then this guy must be a Dragon Slayer Mage, right? And he should also be a member of the Holy Twelve Shields?"
The people from the Albarez Empire seemed to have no intention of hiding their combat power, so there was no concern about any hidden cards. They only needed to deal with the Holy Twelve Shields and that emperor. If they could establish some connection with the members of the Holy Twelve Shields, it led to a speculation: could this person be...
"This person can't possibly be one of the Twin Walls known as Erin, can they?"
"There's a possibility. If this person also transformed into a dragon due to Dragon Slayer Magic and has lived from then until now, it might explain things," Mavis sighed.
"But if that's the case, I honestly don't have high hopes for them... Perhaps we should pull them back?"
Mavis's concerns were not unfounded. The hundreds of years of experience gap and the terrifying magical power displayed by the opponent were definitely not something an ordinary person could contend with.
"Right now, we can only trust them..."
Newton sighed helplessly and could only hope that Natsu and the others would emerge victorious.
“Personality Augmentation!”
The earth was torn open, and fragments of stone gradually began to take on human shapes, becoming more and more lifelike with eyes, noses, and even corresponding clothing appearing on them.
“What are these things?”
Natsu looked at the rock monsters that were increasingly resembling humans, feeling a bit surprised.
“Hmph, I can kindly remind you that your so-called Dragon Slayer Magic was developed by me, and the augmentation magic was also created by me.”
Erin's words left everyone quite astonished. These two types of magic were undoubtedly powerful for all current Mages. The Dragon Slayer Magic could only be mastered through the teachings of dragons and the Dragon Slayer Crystal, while augmentation magic was commonly used by all support-type Mages. Even Wendy, the dragon's Dragon Slayer Mage, primarily used magic that belonged to the category of augmentation magic. This clearly demonstrated Erin's significant contributions to the Mage community.
“So these things are just a form of augmentation magic, not actual creation?”
Newton let out a sigh of relief. He had thought that the other party had reached a level capable of creating life by awakening the rocks, but it turned out to be just ordinary augmentation magic. In Alchemy, enchantments were also a form of augmentation, which Newton didn’t find particularly difficult to handle.
“Ginger, take this magic circle over there. I can't manage Dragon Slayer Magic, but designing Alchemy techniques is where I can contribute…”
