In the world of Fairy Tail, Newton understood that mastering magic was not something that could be accomplished overnight. With his house still in disarray, he decided it was best to tidy up his own space first. However, since he had not encountered any neighbors upon his arrival—perhaps due to poor timing—he was pleasantly surprised to meet several residents living nearby early that morning. 0

Newton hoped that Rona could engage in some interaction with ordinary people, so he offered small gifts to the neighbors—basic household items, really. This also served as an opportunity for Rona to familiarize herself with the people around them. Throughout the morning, they continued cleaning the house. Given that Newton was a disabled individual with a child, the neighbors were particularly considerate and supportive. If they had free time at home, they would come over to help tidy up. With everyone's assistance, what would have taken an indefinite amount of time to clean was nearly finished in just one morning. 0

It wouldn’t have been appropriate to send the helpers away after their kindness, so Newton invited everyone who came to help for a meal. It wasn’t anything extravagant—just a simple home-cooked meal. However, Newton's cooking impressed many of the neighbors, and they soon learned about his skills in repairing stairs and windows. From then on, whenever something broke, they would skip the repair shop and directly ask Newton for help. 0

Newton was more than happy about this arrangement; after all, building good relationships with his neighbors was beneficial. In the afternoon, there was still no word from the mayor’s office, indicating that Sheriff would need more information before taking any action regarding Newton. This provided a perfect opportunity for Newton to teach Rona about magic. 0

The Albarez Empire placed significant emphasis on magical education for children. Even though Rona had been born in a sewer, she still possessed some understanding of magic—likely gleaned from knowledge contained within a Grimoire she had found. Newton had previously taught her some basics but had yet to delve into more specific magical concepts. 0

“First, we need to understand what Alchemy is…” 0

Newton sat on the ground and drew a circle with his finger, beginning his explanation with the fundamentals of Alchemy Arrays. He referenced various Alchemist's Alchemy Arrays but did not impose strict standards on Rona; he even pondered whether other shapes could serve as bases for their work. Of course, he had tried this before and failed, but as an Alchemist, innovation was essential. He didn’t overwhelm Rona with too much information; he merely introduced her to the basics of Alchemy. There was still much knowledge to learn, especially considering that if Rona ever unlocked her potential, Newton would have even more responsibilities. 0

Rona’s capacity for understanding surprised Newton; she absorbed knowledge like a sponge. If it weren’t for Newton’s concern about her still-developing mind—worrying that teaching her too much might lead her to unlock her potential prematurely—he might have shared even more information. He also briefly explained transformation and possession magic to Rona but kept it minimal. Although these types of magic required considerable effort from him, they were incredibly useful. For instance, if Rona were to possess an animal's soul at this moment, it would significantly enhance her physical abilities. Additionally, transformation magic allowed one to store weapons and other items for easy access later. 0

Teaching Rona about magic was just one aspect of his day; Newton didn’t intend to rest on his laurels. He had learned that living in the city had its advantages—information flowed much better than in the sewers. The Albarez Empire did not strictly prohibit citizens from discussing their leaders; although few had seen the emperor himself, many were familiar with the Twelve Shields. Newton discovered that one particular Alchemist among them seemed quite skilled in magical machinery, which explained why none of the robots sent over could be found. With this realization, Newton abandoned his plans to use robots for reconnaissance. 0

Finally, Sheriff arrived. 0

“Gold Alchemy?” 0

Sheriff was accompanied by a stout individual whose head resembled an onion. However, Newton recognized immediately that this person was merely a Puppet—a robot. 0

"Who are you?" 0

The Chubby Man looked at Newton with some annoyance. 0

"So this is the so-called recovery potion you concocted? You need to brew another bottle for me right now." 0

Without waiting for Newton's response, he tossed a pile of ingredients over. 0

"If you can't make it, then you can just die here." 0

He had no intention of answering Newton's question, acting quite domineering. The Sheriff beside him seemed to want to say something, but at that moment, cold sweat had already soaked the ground beneath him, and he was trembling so much that he couldn't utter a complete sentence. 0

"Alright." 0

Newton didn't waste any more words. It seemed this person was indeed summoned by the Sheriff. However, this individual appeared to have quite a significant status; having already learned that there was an Alchemist among the Twelve Shields, this fellow must be one of their subordinates. Newton moved quickly; since the other party wanted to observe, they were likely interested in his Alchemy techniques. So, he promptly set up an Alchemy Array and brewed a potion. 0

"Oh?" 0

The Chubby Man gradually became interested in Newton's actions. Throughout the brewing process, he remained silent and did not interrupt. No matter how arrogant he was, he found himself quite intrigued by the technique that was completely different from his own understanding. When Newton handed him the potion, he gulped it down in one go, his eyes darting around. 0

"Indeed, it's just as you said. What kind of Alchemy technique did you just use?" 0

"It’s from a book I acquired." 0

Newton casually made up an excuse. After all, he had come here all alone, and the other party, Joan, wouldn't expect him to find out where the books were. As for going to the Fiore Kingdom to verify anything, Newton could tell you that he had created countless similar identities. 0

"Alright, come with me!" 0

The Chubby Man didn't ask any more questions and directly led Newton and Rona away from there. 0
