The turmoil of the wedding came swiftly and left just as quickly. Although this event had shocked the entire continent, it gradually faded from everyone's attention over time.
"Old man, is everything ready?"
As far as the eye could see, there was an endless expanse of ocean, and everyone from Fairy Tail was present—no one was missing.
"Do you really not need me to go with you?"
Laxus looked at his grandfather. Despite their past disagreements, he still felt a deep concern for him.
"What can you do by coming along?" Makarov retorted without hesitation.
"Actually, it wouldn't be impossible for me to go," Newton said, causing Makarov to glare at him.
"What do you mean, kid?"
"In short, the main goal for the time being is to ensure that each of them can improve their abilities. Although the other continent is somewhat dangerous, danger and opportunity coexist. Their level of magical development far exceeds ours, so if we can go over and learn something, it would be beneficial for us as well."
Newton had considered many factors. While this approach carried some risks, he didn't believe that everyone on the other side would be overly vigilant. Sending them over would feel somewhat like furthering their education; as long as they could learn something valuable there, that would be enough.
"But the problem now is that you all tend to stir up trouble..."
As soon as those words were spoken, everyone felt a wave of displeasure wash over them. Although it was somewhat true, no one liked being called out like that. Immediately, several people approached Newton, but none demanded that he take back his words; instead, they were all eager to follow Makarov into that world.
"Alright, this time none of you can go. I will send the Ginger robots over instead. You don't need to worry about the robots; my main concern is whether the data can be transmitted back in real-time. So as soon as we arrive there, the robots will attempt to infiltrate their country and establish our base. However, since we don't know how far the distance is, I will also have Ginger set up relevant relay stations along the way. Still, given the distance, if anything happens on your end, we won't be able to rush over immediately. So you might have to endure some hardships..."
"Hah! Do you think I've walked such a long road? Because of you troublemakers, I've been scolded by the Magic Council countless times! I've long since built up my resilience!"
"There's nothing to be proud of in that! What exactly is this inexplicable sense of pride based on?"
Newton couldn't help but retort.
"Alright, alright, just know what I mean. You lot need to train hard here! If I really end up living there for a while, I expect you all to help me establish a new Fairy Tail!"
Makarov's words made everyone laugh, easing some of the sadness that came with their impending separation.
Thus, all of Fairy Tail watched as Makarov departed with a ship full of supplies and numerous robots. They stood quietly at the harbor.
"What should we do next, Newton?"
When Makarov left, he had already indicated that he would pass the position of President to Newton. However, Newton did not accept it; he merely stood in for that position until Makarov returned. At that time, the position would still belong to Makarov. But this did not influence Newton's leadership regarding the guild's future direction. Since they had decided to train, everyone was curious if Newton had any preparations in mind.
They each had their own ideas but were uncertain if Newton had any equipment that could assist them in their training. Such resources would be incredibly helpful for their cultivation.
"Well, I don't really have any suggestions for you. You all should have your own plans and just follow the path you're on without overthinking it. The only advice I can give is to keep your communicators handy. If anything comes up, I'll notify you right away."
At this point, the main combat abilities and personal fighting styles of everyone had already taken shape. Newton wasn't a mentor; he could only provide assistance to the greatest extent possible, such as offering experience potions or helping to develop the Third Magic Source.
"Everyone, although this might seem inappropriate, if you encounter any issues out there, please make sure to come back. After all, no matter how much a wandering soul enjoys their adventures, they will eventually want to return home. And if possible, please pay attention to Guild news; we might need to go retrieve the old man at some point."
Although Newton didn't offer much in the way of advice, his words hinted that he hoped everyone would venture out and explore. It wasn't that Fairy Tail no longer needed them; it was akin to students of old going abroad for study. He wanted each person to seek their own opportunities.
The absence of these individuals in the Guild wasn't a concern; after all, seven years without this group was manageable. This time wasn't about disappearing but rather about self-learning and self-improvement. Even if something were to happen, they could be informed and brought back.
"Perfect timing; I actually want to leave for a while."
Natsu nodded. The recent battles had left him feeling somewhat helpless—his fight with the dragon, the battle at Sun Village, and later against the Underworld Gate. Then there was Makarov's departure. Although he didn't know what secrets his Guild held, Natsu understood that if he weren't so weak, none of this would have happened.
"Anyone who wants to leave can do so freely. I've already prepared supplies for you; you can pick them up at the Guild when you're ready."
Those planning to venture out included the Natsu-Haru duo, Laxus and the Thunder God Clan. Gajeel chose to leave as well, while Gray and Zhubian also departed. In the end, Wendy stayed behind; as a girl, everyone felt uneasy about letting her go out alone with just a cat. With that, it seemed as though the entire world had settled into peace once more.
