"Not here? How is that possible?"
Silver looked at Kis, wondering how it could be that they were not present. If they weren't here, then where could they possibly be?
"Forget it, it doesn't matter. There are still plenty of people around; we can just grab some of them and ask."
Silver's idea was quite reasonable. Since they couldn't find the person they were looking for, they might as well inquire with someone else. At this moment, Silver felt a bit relieved that he hadn't killed everyone; otherwise, finding the target would have been a real hassle.
The two demons quickly rushed to the landing site of the Fairy Tail members, but by the time they arrived, there was no one left. Well, not entirely empty, as Jiang and Newton's robotic army were still present.
"Alright, now that the irrelevant people have left, why don't you find someone on your level to fight?"
Jiang had changed from his professional attire into something more suitable for movement: a sleeveless top and tight shorts.
"Is it just you?"
Silver looked at him with a hint of disdain.
Jiang didn't say a word or make a single move; instead, the army behind him charged forward.
"What a pity. Didn't you just try this? Those armors are as fragile as paper in my hands."
Silver activated his spell once more, but to his surprise, although a thin layer of frost appeared on the armor's surface, its movements were completely unaffected. In fact, that thin layer of frost was continuously melting away, steam rising from it.
This particular armor had been specially manufactured by Newton. Previously, he had created corresponding armor to deal with all the demons from the Nine Ghosts Gate. This type had a resistance wire added to its surface, making it similar to a glass rear window. Of course, ordinary ice wouldn't melt under magical power alone; thus, magic was also infused within. As long as the opposing magic wasn't of the same attribute or overly suppressed, there would be no issues. Each piece of armor was embedded with Magic Crystals, allowing vast amounts of magical energy to surge forth and mix with the heat generated by the crystals to withstand Silver's freezing effect.
"This is quite interesting."
Kis stood by without any intention of helping. As a Necromancer, without corpses or undead nearby, Kis's combat ability was not particularly formidable. He could only endure a few more attacks with his own body. However, when paired with Silver, things became formidable. Silver was indeed Gray's father; after dying years ago, he had been resurrected by Kis. Therefore, as long as Kis remained alive, Silver could be revived infinitely.
This didn't mean Silver was invincible; in reality, he was still human. If his body sustained severe damage, he would lose mobility—he just wouldn't die.
One of Silver's arms transformed into an ice blade. Although Ice Magic was not particularly effective against armor, it worked wonders on the ground. For Silver, who was already accustomed to running on icy surfaces, the ice posed no hindrance; in fact, it enhanced Silver's speed. With fluid movements, Silver danced between the suits of armor, the blazing Mechanical Arm slicing through the air in front. Instead of striking, Silver used the blade as support to block momentarily, executing a roll in mid-air and leaping over all the armor.
The remaining suits of armor lacked heating devices, so Jiang did not allow them to attack.
Silver swung the Ice Blade towards Jiang.
"Don't worry, I won't kill you; I'll just make you lose some parts."
However, Jiang easily blocked the Ice Blade.
"Rest assured, I'm quite confident. When my master installed these devices on the armor, he equipped me with the same set. So everything I have now can withstand all of you from Nine Ghosts Gate."
A layer of red metallic threads appeared on Jiang's outer clothing, but the entire outfit did not catch fire; it merely emitted a faint glow, a dim crimson hue. Yet Silver could sense a terrifying heat radiating from it.
At the same time, Jiang's legs split open at the skin. Unlike Silver's gliding motion, flames erupted from Jiang's legs, providing immense propulsion. With precise calculations, various parts of Jiang's body occasionally released jets that helped change direction during movement.
As Jiang approached Silver, one arm transformed into a fiery color. The arm swung like a blade towards Silver, melting the ice blade effortlessly. Then Jiang closed in on Silver with a series of close-range strikes; one fist barely avoided the chilling influence of ice while the other radiated an intimidating heat. Each attack left gaping holes in Silver's form.
"Miss, you're quite formidable."
Silver found himself continuously being damaged and restored. Behind him, Kis frowned but felt somewhat reassured when he saw that one of Jiang's arms had been damaged. If such destructive power could be unleashed so casually, Kis seriously considered whether it was wise to continue fighting.
Just as Kis pondered this, Jiang hurled the damaged arm at him. The arm erupted with an explosion rivaling that which had previously devastated an entire town, instantly engulfing Kis.
"This..."
Silver's gaze towards Jiang shifted dramatically. Could it be that this Girl had been carrying such a bomb while fighting him?
"I'm sorry, Mr. Silver. While this may seem unfair to Gray, allowing you to rest here is probably for the best..."
Ginger looked at Silver with a hint of regret.
"Oh, so you all knew already. Well..."
Silver felt his body gradually beginning to dissipate, starting from his ankles and slowly transforming into specks of light.
"After all, you have already learned everything about the Nine Ghosts Gate. It seems you must have obtained all the information about the demons here. Although I might not get to see that fool again, with companions like you, I don't have to worry about his future anymore."
Silver laughed heartily and then raised a Magic Crystal.
"Though it may seem trivial now, give this to that kid. Consider it a little something from this old man to him..."
Only a single Magic Crystal remained on the ground.
"Well..."
Ginger picked up the Magic Crystal and simultaneously took out a photograph.
"This way, it feels complete..."
