“Hmm? There's another magical fluctuation?”
Mardo shook his head; this level of magic was not enough to pique his interest. He returned to his throne, where the remaining members of the Nine Ghosts Gate gathered around him.
“My lord, it seems there's still one fellow who escaped.”
A sinister smile spread across Silver's face, as if the disappearance of his son before him meant nothing at all.
“I know. Storm, you go.”
Mardo looked at the people before him, indifferent. Although the Nine Ghosts Gate had suffered a loss of two-thirds this time, if they could awaken End and then easily deal with Jelf, his goals would be achieved. The three councilors who held the keys had already been dealt with; now the most crucial element was that President. The activation of Fiss required that President; it wasn't that they couldn't crack it. During their collaboration, they had kept an eye on each other. Underworld Gate hadn’t allowed Nine Ghosts Gate to protect the Former Guild Master. While the Former Guild Master had informed Underworld Gate about Fiss, he hadn’t revealed who truly held the key or how to activate Fiss, leaving Underworld Gate in a bit of an awkward position. They now possessed the qualification to activate Fiss but lacked the method to do so.
“Can we find out where that fellow is hiding from Fairy Tail?”
Mardo surveyed those under him: one absorbing Spell, Furan Mars; one wielding water Spell, Trafas; and Silver, who practiced Demon Extermination Magic, along with Kis, who specialized in necromancy.
“Sorry.”
Unfortunately for Mardo, he did not receive the answer he wanted.
“Then let’s all set out and obliterate everything in their territory. Kis, you’re in charge of reviving those fellows.”
Mardo's approach was undeniably simple and brutal, but sometimes such straightforward methods were indeed suitable for situations like this. If they didn’t know where he was, then they might as well destroy everything.
The Underworld Beast immediately flew in one direction.
"What’s going on?"
Lucy looked around in confusion, wondering why the Guild members had suddenly disappeared. She scanned her surroundings but found no one present.
"I found you."
After transforming into a demon, the Storm returned to its original beast-like form.
"Leo!"
Leo appeared out of nowhere, radiating a glimmer of hope. However, from the other side, a demon covered in metal suddenly charged forward, swirling a massive amount of water as it moved through the liquid like a fish.
"Double Gate!"
But Lucy was not weak herself. The keys to the Zodiac had been entrusted to her by her mother and handed over to Lucy. Among them was Aquarius, who, despite often acting like a tough older sister in front of Lucy, had watched her grow up and shared a deep bond with her.
"Girl, move aside!"
As soon as Aquarius emerged, she immediately pushed Lucy out of the way, while Trafas had already sunk its teeth into Aquarius.
"Get away from me!"
Aquarius was incredibly powerful in the water; she was the strongest in Water Battle among the Zodiac. With her urn in hand, she summoned towering waves that swept Trafas away. However, a deep wound had already been inflicted on Aquarius's shoulder from the bite.
"Damn it, Girl, hold on!"
In the water, neither Leo nor Lucy could fight effectively; the only one who could stand against them was herself.
"Oh my, it's quite lively here..."
Although Rami survived the explosion of the Core of Hell, she emerged relatively unscathed, or perhaps she was simply immune to physical explosions. At that moment, it was unclear why she had come over; even if Lucy was weak, facing someone even weaker posed no threat at all.
In fact, this was somewhat underestimating Rami, as she was still a demon and had a significant advantage over humans. In a one-on-one fight, she might actually be able to take Lucy down.
Rami glided across the surface of the water as if playing, swiftly reaching Lucy's side and casually slapping her cheek. Although Rami herself wasn't particularly strong, the movement of the water amplified the force behind her punch, sending Lucy flying into the air.

Leo's fist shone with light as it struck towards Rami. She slid away from the attack, but the light still burned her. However, it should be noted that Leo was currently engaged in battle with Storm. While he could indeed be considered a leader like Zodiac, facing a member of Nine Ghosts Gate while distracted allowed Storm to seize an opportunity.
"Whoosh!"
Storm initially intended to use flames, but now that Trafas had turned the battlefield into one dominated by water, using fire would only diminish its power. It was better to use wind to enhance his attack instead.
"Triple Gate Open!"
Just as Storm's attack was about to land on Leo, a massive axe descended from the other side. If Storm continued his assault, he might defeat Leo, but he would also be split in two by the giant axe. A Celestial Spirit receiving a fatal blow would only be sent back to the Spirit World. Even if he could be revived later due to the destruction of the Core of Hell, he wouldn't be able to participate in this battle anymore. After some consideration, Storm chose to retreat.
Following closely behind the axe was Taurus the Bull. Although they were in water, it didn't hinder Taurus much; wielding his heavy axe seemed like it could cleave through the flowing water effortlessly.
After Leo resolved Lucy's crisis, he immediately turned around and threw a punch at the Storm. The Storm couldn't help but frown; facing one opponent was manageable, but now there were two, both skilled in attacks, and he wasn't particularly good at defense.
"Trafas!"
The Storm had no choice but to call for Trafas. After all, if things continued like this, he might really lose. Previously, there had been encounters with this girl; Furan Mars had fought against Lucy. However, at that time, Lucy had only summoned two Celestial Spirits, and Furan Mars had thought that was all she could summon. It seemed like a manageable situation with his companions. But now, he hadn't expected her to summon a third spirit, which changed the dynamics of the battle entirely.
"Hmm? Why are you two in such a mess?"
Trafas appeared at that moment, gripping Aquarius by the neck.
"Aquarius!"
Lucy couldn't believe it. A Celestial Spirit that was severely injured shouldn't still be here; it should have returned to the Spirit World. Why was it still around?
"You two idiots, why haven't you resolved this yet? If something happens to the girl, can you take responsibility for it?"
"Aquarius, forcibly close the gate!"
Lucy wanted to send Aquarius back immediately, but Aquarius was determined not to return, using her magic to resist.
"Girl, your only option now is to summon the Celestial Spirit King!"
"But the Celestial Spirit King doesn't have a key."
"That's because summoning the Celestial Spirit King isn't done in a usual way; it requires sacrificing a golden key to summon him!"
"I won't do it!"
Having been with Aquarius for such a long time, Lucy quickly understood the other's thoughts. She would never agree to sacrifice Aquarius. At that moment, Leo and Taurus remained silent. Although both had good relationships with Lucy, their standing in her heart was still not as high as Aquarius's.
"Lucy, this isn't the time to be stubborn! Do you know how much I hated you back then, Girl? So just go ahead and sacrifice me!"
"I refuse! You're my family!"
"Girl, don't you want to save the Guild members?"
"I..."
Lucy tightly gripped her Zodiac key, her fingers brushing against Aquarius's key.
"Well, let's not be so dramatic about this. There might be other ways..."
But just then, a hand suddenly grasped Lucy's palm, accompanied by a reassuring voice.
