“Is everything alright, Laxus?”
Newton looked at Ginger, surprised to see Laxus appearing again. Although it had been some time since Laxus had last shown up, he hadn’t expected him to recover at this moment. This was good news; after all, Laxus's combat power was still quite terrifying.
However, it was a bit awkward for Newton since he had previously sent a message to the members of Sword-Biting Tiger, as this guild was also one of the participants in the current situation. Minerva had already been involved in the assault on Underworld Gate, and now with Geman’s involvement, they couldn’t escape anymore. As for other guilds, Newton had notified them as well. This wasn’t because he wanted other guilds to become cannon fodder or anything like that; it was simply that Fiss's existence was too dangerous. With just Fairy Tail and Sword-Biting Tiger facing Underworld Gate, they had a decent advantage. However, if the opponent truly activated Fiss, they would need to rely on other guilds. Although this was the worst-case scenario, it was necessary to prepare for it. Newton had tried to find Kildas but knew that Kildas was out in the wild somewhere. Even through his intelligence network, he couldn’t locate Kildas.
“Minerva, do you want to come with us to the guild? Sting and Rogue are here too.”
Newton looked at Minerva. Although they might need her later, for now, it was better to relax a bit.
“Sure, I also want to see how those two idiots have grown during this time.”
The group arrived at Fairy Tail's guild. From the outside, it looked damp and covered in ice shards; it seemed they had indeed gone through quite a tough battle.
“Ahem!”
As soon as they walked in, Newton heard a familiar coughing sound.
“Laxus, is your body alright? You didn’t sneak out without permission, did you? Do you believe that Lady Poluchika will refuse to treat you again if you keep this up?”
Newton sighed as he walked over.
“Ginger, scan Laxus's body.”
Ginger approached and his eyes glowed red as he scanned Laxus from top to bottom.
“There’s nothing wrong. As long as we expel the Demon Particles from his system, he should be fine. Although there are still some remnants, it seems his body has developed a resistance against the gravitational pull of magic. While it's very slight now, perhaps in the future Laxus will no longer be influenced by Demon Particles. Truly, Dragon Slayer Mages are incredible beings.”
Ginger couldn't help but sigh in disbelief.
"Hey, hey, other people's bodies aren't like animals, you know."
Laxus shivered; his tone made it sound as if he were facing an animal waiting for experimentation.
While this commotion was happening, Minerva approached Sting and Rogue.
"Has the Guild been quiet lately?"
Minerva was an absolutely competent President. Although she had left the Guild, she still cared about its development. Sting, while not very skilled in these matters, had a unique personal charm that could shine like his magic light, illuminating others. Rogue served as a supportive presence, and together they complemented each other. The report they provided eased Minerva's mind, but soon after, her brow furrowed.
"The upcoming battle is likely to be quite dangerous, but you must stay alert because I seem to have seen my father's shadow..."
"Geman?"
Sting and Rogue both felt a headache coming on. They had already decided to forget that name. When Geman disappeared, their thought was simply to consider him dead; it seemed easier that way. Yet they never expected to hear that name again here.
"I initially thought we were just helping Brother Newton out of personal goodwill, but now it seems we were too optimistic. Even without Brother Newton's involvement, we must confront the Underworld Gate."
Sting knew that with Geman's personality, he would certainly not let them off easily. This time, even if Newton didn't invite them, they would have to participate in this matter.
"Yes, so what level of strength does Geman possess now?"
Rogue was still concerned about whether they could stand up to Geman.
"Well..."
Minerva pondered for a moment.
"To be honest, in terms of strength, we are not much different from Geman anymore. I have also been modified, so there isn't a significant gap in combat power. Moreover, if it's the two of you together, facing a Geman, even if they are modified, it shouldn't make much of a difference."
Upon hearing this, Sting and Rogue breathed a sigh of relief. After all, this meant that the battle would be much simpler without any major issues.
"Alright, Newton, now look. Since the enemy has already come knocking at our door, we can't just sit back and do nothing."
Makarov felt that the attack from Underworld Gate was rather frivolous. Even among Regular Guilds, Guild Wars were typically life-and-death struggles. The fact that only a handful of their members had come over was something Makarov couldn't comprehend.
"There's no rush. The most crucial thing is to remember the information I gathered. The enemy's true Guild base is located on a massive demon. However, we don't know what effects that demon might have. Perhaps only that Mysterious President knows about it. Therefore, we must prepare thoroughly."
War relies on timing, location, and human factors. Right now, the human factor was on their side; timing was out of their control; thus, location became extremely important. If they fought on enemy territory, they had to ensure they wouldn't fall into any traps.
"First, we need to make sure there are no strange magical traps that could directly harm us. Additionally, there's a place referred to as Demon Core; it seems to be where all demons undergo rebirth and modification. If we don't deal with that place, even if we eliminate the demons, they will just resurrect or new ones will be created there..."
The battle plan was quite straightforward: avoid traps and first take down the enemy's altars and barracks before forcing them to surrender.
After formulating the plan, they didn't charge in all at once but instead approached in batches from different directions. The entire Fairy Tail guild surged toward the location of Underworld Gate. Not only Fairy Tail but also Sword-Biting Tiger were ready for war; the conflict was about to ignite.
