“Sorry to keep you waiting…”
Newton held a shield made of an unknown material, and it appeared that Eser's attack was immensely powerful, splitting the entire forest in two. Yet, the shield in Newton's hands remained completely unscathed, as if it were the strongest shield imaginable.
“You…”
Sera had initially thought that the opponent was just a mere thug who had followed them, but suddenly they erupted with power. However, regardless of this outburst, Sera felt that even with her restrictions lifted, she could tear apart any of the other Nine Ghosts Gate members standing before her.
“Are you saying we can finally show our true strength?”
But there were many surprises in store for Sera. Minerva slowly rose from the ground; aside from being a bit dirty, she seemed to be completely fine.
“So that means these two guys can’t escape, right?”
Miraj had also undergone a transformation, resembling Frenzied Blossom to some extent.
“Frenzied Blossom?”
Sera immediately understood what had happened to Frenzied Blossom.
“You actually dared to kill Frenzied Blossom!”
“Self-enhancement…”
Miraj shrugged.
“Being absorbed by me doesn’t count as death, right? It should be considered living on in another form.”
Sera didn't want to continue the verbal sparring with her opponent. After all, she had been entangled with two women for a while, and she had no idea what they were planning. If this continued, who knew what might happen next? Moreover, she had spent a considerable amount of time with Frenzied Blossom and was quite familiar with her techniques. This was clearly an enhancement of her Spell. If Sera didn't interrupt her, Frenzied Blossom would keep strengthening herself, and eventually, she would be able to overpower both Sera and Eser.
"Eser, don't..."
Sera wanted to warn Eser, but to her surprise, Eser was being overwhelmed. Erza had somehow acquired a new set of armor that resembled white jade bone armor. Although it covered only a small part of her body, the main structure looked incredibly sleek. The longsword in her hand was similar; no, not just the longsword—there were other weapons as well, like spears and great axes, all made of bone.
Sera had no idea that although the Dragon Tribe had been sent back after the Great Magic Games, and even the blood collected by Newton had disappeared completely, the Dragon Tomb was indeed real. While it lacked flesh and blood, the sheer number of bones inside was enough for Newton to create countless sets of Dragon Bone armor for Erza. The same went for weapons; the bodies of dragons were quite fascinating. Through different treatments, they exhibited significant variations in properties. This was best exemplified by Natsu's scarf. It looked like an ordinary scarf but was actually woven from Dragon Scales. However, Newton's current abilities were not sufficient to reach that level, nor did he have any Dragon Scales to work with. If the Emerald Dragon could fully recover, Newton might be able to outfit everyone in the Guild with dragonhide clothing.
Ah, I digress. In short, Erza's armor had become significantly more abundant, greatly enhancing her strength.
Moreover, this wasn't just about hidden power; it also involved compatibility. Erza was already a master in her own right—not only in terms of magic but also in combat and weapon usage. Therefore, facing Eser, who also excelled in close combat with weapons, Erza held a considerable advantage. The same could be said for Miraj; although absorbing magic could enhance a Mage's physical condition, she still fell short compared to Eser, who could effortlessly cleave mountains apart. Now, when compared to Sera, it was all about raw power—neither side had any equipment advantage. However, when compared to Sera, Miraj was at a disadvantage because Sera's skills could unleash a one-time explosive effect while Miraj's were growth-oriented. If they continued fighting like this, Miraj would ultimately win; however, at present, Sera still held the upper hand.
As for Minerva, despite having gotten back on her feet after taking Sera's punch earlier—one that truly packed a wallop—if it weren't for her enhanced physique post-transformation and Newton's potions along with her Spatial Magic assistance, she would have likely found herself retreating to recover from that blow.
"How are you feeling?"
Minerva knew that the safest place at this moment was near Newton. After waking up, she promptly made her way over to him. Upon arriving, Newton looked at Minerva teasingly; he couldn't help it—she had always been beautiful and now exuded an alluring dark gothic vibe after her transformation.
"Not great; why aren't you doing anything?"
Minerva felt annoyed that Newton was just sitting there like an ancient lord doing nothing.
"Who said I'm doing nothing..."
Newton shook his head and gestured for Minerva to look around. It was only then that Minerva noticed a circular magic circle drawn on the ground without her realizing it.
"What is this?"
“Alchemy Array……”
Newton spoke as if it were a matter of course.
“What else could I, an Alchemist, be besides an Alchemy Array? Of course, I’ve added some other things in there, like the Confining Magic Circle to prevent them from escaping and the Attack Magic Circle, along with some other magical circles for various purposes. You didn’t think this place was just empty, did you?”
Minerva really wondered if the other party was blind. After all, before coming here, they had checked this place thoroughly but hadn’t discovered any of these magical circles like the Alchemy Array.
“You checked very carefully, but you were still too naive. What do you think I was doing just now? These magical circles were indeed inscribed earlier, but they hadn’t been activated. Some of them were even missing a small detail. Just now, I was activating those magical circles.”
Seeing that Minerva still seemed to have some misunderstandings, Newton lightly tapped his foot. Not far away, Eser was about to charge forward when a stone suddenly appeared underfoot. Normally, such a stone would have been easily crushed by Eser, but instead, he stumbled over it. Erza seized this opportunity; although Eser had already raised all four arms to shield his chest, he was still knocked aside by Erza, who then thrust her spear forward.
“Ahhh!”
Eser cried out in pain.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Sera was relentlessly attacking Miraj. But in the next moment, Miraj suddenly split into two. Instinctively, Sera struck one of them, but Miraj appeared from behind Sera, and water surged from nowhere, directly sweeping up Sera.
It seemed as if the entire ground had turned hostile towards the two at the Underworld Gate. Various unexpected events caused the entire battlefield to tilt toward one side.
