The last group was Miraj and Erza, who were heading to the residence of the Former Guild Master. Upon arrival, both women, known for their sharp minds, did not directly question him. Instead, they maintained a polite demeanor, appearing as if they were unaware of his betrayal. 0

"Hello, are you Mr. Crawford, the Former Guild Master?" 0

Erza looked at the portly man before her, his bushy white beard giving him a seemingly kind appearance. However, she had already confirmed that this man was involved with the Underworld Gate, leading to the downfall of the current Magic Council. 0

"Oh, oh, who are you?" 0

Crawford seemed genuinely puzzled by the arrival of Erza and her companion. 0

"Well, it's like this." 0

Erza had only heard that the Underworld Gate was planning to target members of the Original Magic Council, so they came to offer protection—nothing more. 0

To this, Crawford had no doubts. In his mind, it was normal for them to know such things; if they knew more than that, it would truly be troublesome. 0

"Please come in and have a seat." 0

Crawford welcomed them inside and served them tea. 0

"Sit down. Thank you for coming to protect me. I never expected that even after stepping down from my position, I would still need your assistance. It's quite embarrassing. So, the current Magic Council was destroyed because of the Underworld Gate, right? I really wonder how long it will take to rebuild it this time." 0

"Crawford sir..." 0

Miraj did not sit down but instead carried her teacup over to Crawford's bookshelf and casually set it aside. 0

"Did you collect all these books? There are many rare editions here." 0

Crawford instinctively glanced back at her and then looked at Miraj, who had her back turned to him. His tone was filled with admiration as he felt a sense of joy rising within him. 0

"Indeed, a significant portion of these came from the original Magic Council." 0

"Can I take a look at these books?" 0

Miraj turned around with eager eyes and asked. 0

"Of course, feel free." 0

Even though Crawford was already old, being looked at like that by a girl made his heart race for a moment. He quickly turned his head away and noticed Erza looking at him with embarrassment. Crawford hurriedly lowered his head and took a couple of sips of tea. 0

"Well, if I took all the books here back with me, Reby would surely be very happy, right?" 0

Crawford found it a bit strange. What did she mean by taking everything? He didn't ask but instead laughed it off. 0

"Miraj is just joking. If you really like these things, feel free to take one or two, but taking them all is impossible. After all, I need these items for my own purposes." 0

"It's fine, Mr. Crawford can just come back to Fairy Tail with us." 0

Erza had already put down her teacup and was looking at Crawford with cold eyes. 0

"Haha, Erza, that's quite a joke. Why would I go to Fairy Tail? I know it might be safer there, but I've set up some security measures here myself. If someone really wanted to harm me, it wouldn't be that easy." 0

"Yes, but relatively speaking, our Guild members have been attacked out there. You betrayed your own colleagues and even sold the secrets of the Magic Council just to reclaim the President's seat. You even sold out Fiss to the Underworld Gate. The most critical part is that you shouldn't have let us know about this." 0

Erza donned her armor and held her Sharp Blade warily towards him. She already knew from Gerard that Crawford's main magic was ancient script magic, but one could never be too sure; after all, he might have obtained many powerful items from the Original Magic Council. 0

"You are not wrong, but do you even understand what this position truly means? It's just a bunch of fools! You have no idea about the benefits and power that come with this position!" 0

Like a madman, Crawford's demeanor shifted completely from earlier friendliness to one filled with desire and ferocity. 0

"Yes, but you shouldn't have harmed our Fairy Tail members!" 0

Fairy Tail members could withstand floods, but don't harm my family; otherwise, even if you're a king, I'll make sure to take you down! 0

"Hah, what use is that now? It seems you already know about my alliance with the Underworld Gate? In that case, I must admire your courage for coming here. If I were to take you both to the Underworld Gate like this, I believe those demons would be very interested in you—perhaps conducting some rather interesting experiments on your bodies?" 0

"Indeed, it's true that those who aren't family shouldn't enter the same door; you're no different from those demons." 0

Miraj looked at Crawford as if he were trash. She recalled that Frenzied Blossom had said something similar not long ago, but now? Ugh, she definitely didn't want to associate with this guy in front of her. 0

"Useless. I recognized both of you as soon as you entered. One Fairy Queen Erza and one Demon Miraj—two such famous Mages coming here. I was terrified at first! But I never expected you to be so foolish as to drink what I offered so easily despite knowing I might be problematic. Don't you know what vigilance means?" 0

But Erza and Miraj looked at each other as if they were fools. 0

"Do you know what Newton has to do with us? That guy is much better at potions than you, and do you really think we have no brains? We already switched your cup of tea." 0

Erza shook her head; she had already swapped the teacup while Miraj was distracting the other person. As for Miraj, she hadn't touched that cup of tea from the beginning. 0

"You all..." 0

At this moment, Crawford realized he was afraid. The higher one is in position, the more they value their life. Now he feared that Erza and Miraj would simply kill him without a second thought. But even if he wanted to beg for mercy, he had already lost consciousness. 0

"If it weren't for Newton reminding us of this guy's methods, we might have fallen for it," Miraj said, still feeling a lingering fear. 0

"At least we've caught this guy now. What about those demons outside?" 0

"I'll go take care of it; after all, I haven't really moved my body yet..." 0

We could only mourn for those demons outside who were supposed to protect Crawford. 0
