After receiving the news, Makarov immediately informed everyone about Newton's arrangements. This was not the time to keep things hidden; understanding the strength of their allies before the war was crucial. The consequences of either sending troops at the general's command or the opposite could be devastating.
Moreover, those present were not people who lacked a sense of urgency. Upon seeing Newton's dire condition, nearly everyone believed it to be true and was ready to take action as soon as they returned. Therefore, no one stayed for a meal; instead, they prepared to head back to their Guilds to make necessary arrangements.
However, to everyone's surprise, the members of Sword-Biting Tiger did not leave but chose to stay. Makarov initially thought it might be because the Geman influence within their Guild was too strong, and they were concerned that returning would yield little effect. He wanted to comfort the three of them when Minerva revealed an astonishing piece of information.
"Our Sword-Biting Tiger welcomed a Celestial Spirit Mage last year, and... she possesses keys to the Zodiac."
When Jiang reported this situation, it was merely mentioned in passing, but Minerva had caught onto it and brought forth such significant news.
"A Celestial Spirit Mage? But... that Future Rogge told us there was only Sister Lucy..."
Jiang found himself at a loss.
"Cough, cough, that's quite normal," Newton's voice suddenly rang out.
"Newton, what are you doing here? Poluchika said you shouldn't..."
Makarov felt concerned; he hoped Newton's health wouldn't deteriorate further.
"Need to be unconscious for a week? I'm not that weak yet! Besides, how could I not participate in something like this?"
Though Newton spoke with great righteousness, Miraj and Erza were firmly supporting him on either side, making it look as if they were carrying him along.
"That Future Rogge may not be from our world. Our Fairy Tail has also been to Edras; I suspect there might be more than one Edras in this world. There could be countless parallel worlds similar to ours. That Future Rogge probably came from one of those parallel worlds. At least he doesn't recognize me, which indicates that my existence doesn't exist in that parallel world, or my identity is different there."
Newton looked at Rogue.
"Rogue, don't worry. I won't let you become like that, and I believe Sting and Minerva will help you too. And Gajeel, everyone... you are not alone."
Rogue felt a whirlwind of emotions. The possibility that the troublemaker could be his future self, or even a thousand dragons unleashed by his future self, weighed heavily on him. He had thought about ending it all through suicide, but fear held him back. No one wants to die; no one is free from the fear of death. Thus, Rogue was deeply conflicted.
Sting and Minerva had considered helping Rogue, but the Future Rogue must have had Sting and Minerva by his side at some point. Yet he still turned out that way, leaving Rogue feeling disappointed. However, if what Newton said was true, then Newton was a variable—an unpredictable factor that could bring hope.
"And you just mentioned a Celestial Spirit Mage? That should be information that the beastly Future Rogue doesn't know. This further proves that you are not him, Rogue. So stand tall; you are not the black dragon from the future bringing disaster to the present. You are Rogue, the proud black dragon of Sword-Biting Tiger and brother to Sting."
Newton coughed a couple of times, but in Rogue's eyes, confusion faded away, replaced by determination as he looked at Newton with gratitude.
"Thank you, Mr. Newton."
Newton smiled.
"However, this news is quite unexpected for me as well—there's actually a Celestial Spirit Mage who possesses the Zodiac keys. Minerva, do you have any information on this Celestial Spirit Mage?"
Minerva nodded.
"That child's name is Yukino Aguria. She seems to be someone who yearns for strength, which is why she joined Sword-Biting Tiger. However, she has a gentle heart, so I don't think she can endure under my father's leadership for long. It's truly surprising that she has come this far. Her abilities are quite strong; she possesses the Pisces and Libra golden Zodiac keys as well as the thirteenth key of Ophiuchus that surpasses Zodiac and two silver keys. However, since she joined recently, she hasn't entered the main guild yet; she's only been doing tasks for the branch guild. It was through recommendations from people in this branch that she came into our view."
Upon hearing this, Newton was both surprised and relieved because logically speaking, with Surveillance Robots in every Guild, he shouldn't have missed this information. However, Surveillance Robots couldn't guarantee monitoring everyone; Newton primarily focused on well-known figures and hadn't paid much attention to those in the branch guilds. It seemed he needed to strengthen information gathering in the future.
Newton thought to himself that this would increase the burden on information processing centers. Ginger couldn't just handle information without doing anything else either.
