"Where the hell is Acnologia?"
Natsu shouted angrily as he stood up, scanning the area around him. He was surrounded by ruins... well, Wolf Island itself was essentially a wilderness, so the desolation was quite normal.
However, after looking around for a while, Natsu found no trace of Acnologia. In fact, the surroundings were eerily quiet, almost peaceful.
Gingerbread stared at Natsu expressionlessly. In reality, even if Gingerbread wanted to show a look of helplessness, it was impossible. Although the exterior resembled synthetic skin, inside it was still mechanical, making such expressions a bit complex—Newton had not designed it for that.
"Who are you?"
Natsu finally realized there was someone next to him.
Gingerbread raised his glasses in silence, suddenly thinking that this must indeed be the Fire Dragon that his master spoke of; intelligence clearly seemed to be an issue.
"Hello, I am Newton's subordinate, Gingerbread. Since you're awake now, I need to go find others and won't disturb you further."
Gingerbread felt that even though he was an artificial intelligence, being around this guy would definitely lower his own IQ.
"Wait, wait! Where's Acnologia? Where's Newton? What happened to everyone?"
Natsu was filled with confusion and reached out to grab Gingerbread, wanting to know what exactly had happened to him.
But just as he grasped Gingerbread's wrist, Gingerbread countered with an incredible strength and flipped Natsu over his shoulder, sending him crashing to the ground.
"Damn it! You want to fight?"
In Fairy Tail, it was easy to find a reason to start a brawl in the Guild. And now, Natsu truly didn't recognize Gingerbread. As he stood up and flames ignited around him, he felt a sudden rush of dizziness.
"Well, the weak point is the Vehicle; that's no problem. It seems he really is a Fire Dragon."
Gingerbread nodded as he watched Natsu being taken away on a motorcycle that had appeared out of nowhere, showing no concern for where Natsu would end up.
Ginger continued walking on the island when he spotted someone else along the way. He searched his database and found the name: Iron Dragon Gajeel. Ginger felt a bit uneasy because Iron Dragons feed on iron, which made them enemies to a robot like him.
However, saving people was Newton's command, and Ginger could not disobey it. Moreover...
"If they are all Dragon Slayer Mages, then the Vehicle should serve the same purpose, right?"
Using his system, Ginger summoned a motorcycle. This time, he did not wake Gajeel first; instead, he placed Gajeel directly onto the bike.
"Who are you?"
But a voice interrupted him, and a black cat appeared behind Ginger.
"Hmm? You're not unconscious?"
Ginger did not stop his actions and continued to place Gajeel on the motorcycle.
"I am Newton's subordinate, named Ginger. How about I explain everything after I rescue everyone?"
Lily remained quite cautious and immediately asked, "Why should I trust you?"
"Well, I know you, Mr. Lily. To be honest, I am an artificial intelligence created by Mr. Jabir for Mr. Newton. Does that prove my identity?"
Ginger's words eased Lily's tension because it was indeed true. Only those who had been to Edras would know such things, and most of those people were imprisoned on Wolf Island. It seemed that only Newton was aware of this matter, so it appeared that this fellow could be trusted.
"Where is Newton now?" Lily inquired. Since this person seemed trustworthy, they would have to find Newton next.
"Sorry, sir, but he is currently very busy."
Jiang injected some nutrients into Gajeel and then slapped him directly across the face.
"Ow."
Lily watched as Gajeel's face turned red, and the entire cat gasped in shock. He looked at Jiang with a hint of fear, suddenly questioning whether this guy was really artificial intelligence. First, there was his appearance, and now this action—was he trying to kill someone?
However, the slap had an excellent effect; Gajeel woke up immediately. But before he could react, Jiang had already started the motorcycle and sent him flying out.
"Is Gajeel okay?"
Lily watched Jiang warily.
"He's fine; he won't fall into the sea."
Jiang's words made Lily feel even more terrified of him, causing her to instinctively take a step back.
"Miraj and Erza just woke up, so please don't disturb them."
Jiang glanced at Lily, his eyes flashing red, reminiscent of a Terminator.
"Uh, got it."
At this point, Lily had no doubts left. If he could know about Newton and those two's relationship, there shouldn't be any issues. However, she was still quite suspicious about whether this guy was truly artificial intelligence. Could he be Newton's new interest during their time on Wolf Island? If that were the case, his cold expression would make sense. So now, this was... a battlefield?
Lily felt as if she had stumbled upon something significant, thinking to herself that she never realized Newton could be involved with someone like this.
"Alright then, since that's the case, I’ll go check on Gajeel."
Lily was unwilling to stay with Jiang any longer because she felt uneasy around him.
Jiang shrugged and nodded nonchalantly.
"Just don't disturb Sister Xian."
Jiang continued walking forward, rescuing one person after another from Wolf Island.
It was easier with Wendy, as she was a Dragon Slayer Mage with healing abilities. Together, their speed in saving others increased significantly.
"Thank you so much, Jiang," Makarov sighed. Although he believed he was strong, he still felt the vast gap between himself and legendary beings.
"It's no problem."
Jiang looked at the people gathered around him, remotely controlling a motorcycle to approach. Then, Natsu and Gajeel were subdued by Makarov.
"The sir has prepared food and change of clothes for everyone. Also, there is someone who wishes to meet you all. Please follow me."
Jiang led everyone toward the base, leaving this place to Newton and his partner for now.
So, what was Newton doing at this moment? In fact, after arriving on the island, Newton had been following Mavis toward Miraj and Erza's direction.
