Newton thought this way; instead of letting others guess what had happened, he preferred to tell them directly. Thus, the events of Wolf Island became known throughout the kingdom in no time.
The Demon Heart attacked the sacred ground of Fairy Tail, and Fairy Tail responded with all their S-Class Mages, exam personnel, and the President joining the battle, leading to the complete annihilation of Demon Heart. Shortly after, the black dragon Acnologia appeared and destroyed Wolf Island. All the high-ranking members of Fairy Tail went missing, and Newton took over as President of Fairy Tail. News spread like wildfire, bombarding everyone with information that left many in shock.
Initially, people were particularly excited that Fairy Tail had eliminated another top Dark Guild. However, when they received news about the high-ranking members being attacked by the black dragon and going missing, a cloud of gloom fell over everyone. No one understood why Acnologia had suddenly attacked Wolf Island. The sheer power of the dragon was astonishing; even the strongest Regular Guild, Fairy Tail, could not withstand it. Who else could stand against such a force? Fear gripped everyone as they began to gather Dragon Slayer Mages and Dragon Slayer Crystals.
Of course, as people started collecting these items, they noticed that Magic Crystals were being bought up in large quantities on the market. It was unclear who was making such bold purchases; whenever a Magic Crystal appeared, it would be snatched up immediately.
With such financial backing, everyone turned their attention to Newton's Guild.
Indeed, this fellow had experienced such events firsthand; it was understandable for him to act this way. Moreover, no one could match Newton's financial resources; they could only search everywhere in hopes of finding some Magic Crystals.
Since Newton had succeeded Makarov as the fourth President of Fairy Tail, he naturally needed to hold a ceremony to announce his ascension. It wasn't exactly a ceremony but more of a notification to let everyone know that he was now in charge. Essentially, all prominent Mage Guilds in the kingdom were invited by Newton.
"What unfortunate news," One Night said as he looked at Newton. His unkempt beard and sunken eyes were accentuated by dark circles and bags under his eyes; there were even hints of white hair on his head, revealing deep fatigue on his face.
"Sigh..."
One Night couldn't help but let out a sigh.
"It's alright, Mr. One Night. I believe they will return sooner or later."
Newton was indeed very tired. Being President was far more exhausting than following Makarov around. The number of matters needing attention now far exceeded what Makarov had dealt with back then.
"If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to us at Azure Wind Antelope; we will always be your friends!"
Though One Night looked somewhat disheveled, he was undeniably a good person.
It is easy to add flowers to a brocade but difficult to send coal in snowy weather. Newton silently remembered this kindness and bowed slightly.
"Thank you, Mr. One Night."
"No, no, this is what I should do."
One Night shook his head and walked away regretfully, while Leo and Jura approached.
"Newton, that guy Gray... really..."
Leo couldn't believe it. They had fought together for so many years, and Gray was just gone like that? It felt like a joke.
"No, they aren't dead; they're just missing."
Newton spoke with conviction. The search party at sea had detected some unusual magical fluctuations, making it very likely that Jiang's speculation was true. Newton firmly believed that once they found Wolf Island, they would be able to return.
"That's right. I can't believe Natsu and the others would die so easily."
Jura, who had also fought alongside Natsu and the others, shared the same sentiment. He didn't think Natsu and the others would fall so simply.
"Besides, we Serpent Empress's Scale will always be Fairy Tail's best ally. If anything happens, just come to me!"
Jura made a promise as well. Newton nodded and expressed his gratitude to Jura.
"The Kingdom of Fiore, envoy of His Majesty Thomas has arrived!"
A voice called out at a moderate volume, silencing everyone. Although they were all Mages with great power, royal authority still held significant importance in their hearts.
"You must be Sir Newton, right? I am the envoy sent by His Majesty Thomas. His Majesty is deeply saddened by what has happened to Fairy Tail. To express his condolences, His Majesty has decided to grant you the title of Duke for life in the Kingdom of Fiore and exempt Fairy Tail from taxes for five years, along with..."
A list of rewards followed. While these gifts weren't particularly important to Newton, they conveyed a message to everyone: even though Fairy Tail's higher-ups had fallen, the kingdom still supported them.
Not only the kingdom but also members of the Magic Council were present. Mest had come as a representative of the Magic Council.
"I'm sorry, Newton. We were right there at the time but couldn't help at all."
Mest looked troubled. Newton felt even more conflicted; this kid had suffered too. He reached out and patted Mest on the shoulder.
"It's okay, Mest. Can I still call you that?"
Mest nodded.
"This kind of thing has nothing to do with you. No one knows why Acnologia appeared there. The fact that you managed to escape is a good thing; facing such an existence, no one could possibly resist, right? At this moment, preserving your strength is key."
Newton was not mistaken. In the face of Acnologia and others, he felt that perhaps the Holy Ten held no significance at all; that kind of power had already surpassed all limits, completely unlike anything that should still exist in this world.
"I will do my best to help with the Magic Council."
Mest had little he could do, but he would provide as much assistance as possible to Newton and Fairy Tail.

Newton was truly grateful. The gloom in his heart and the burden on his shoulders seemed to lighten considerably. Initially, he had been prepared to quietly relocate Fairy Tail, always considering the worst-case scenario. But now, one by one, his friends and supporters made Newton feel warm inside. Fairy Tail was never a lonely guild; he had many friends.
The gathering went quite smoothly this time, with no one daring to cause trouble. Newton also established cooperative relationships with many guilds. After sending everyone off in the evening, he welcomed another group of people.
"Newton, are Erza and the others really alive?"
Gerard entered wearing a cloak.
"You've arrived? Just in time; I have some matters I want to ask of you."
Instead of answering the question, Newton led Gerard toward his laboratory.
