"Jiang, what are we going to do now?"
Newton lay in his armor, staring blankly into space.
"We need to take control of the Dark Guild, resolve the internal issues within the Guild, and prepare for the troubles ahead."
Jiang prioritized the Dark Guild's issues first. The Dark Guild Triumvirate was in disarray; with the Six Demons dead and the Demon Hearts all captured by Newton, only the Underworld Gate remained. However, it was not very influential, making this the perfect time to consolidate the Dark Guild.
As for Fairy Tail, Wolf Island had dealt a significant blow to them. The entire S-Class had fallen, leaving only Newton behind. The President was missing, and a wave of mages just below S-Class had also vanished. This time, it seemed they had wiped out Fairy Tail's upper echelons. A single misstep could potentially lead to Fairy Tail's downfall. However, due to a lack of manpower, Newton needed to proceed cautiously.
"Let's go, Jiang. Can you still fight?"
"I have completed self-repair; there are no issues with my body. The Energy Source is below fifty percent. Considering the energy consumption for returning, I recommend replacing it with a new Energy Source."
"Is there still armor available in the lab?"
Newton frowned. If that were the case, recovering the Dark Guild would be quite troublesome.
"There is still an Energy Source available, but we have run out of armor; all of it has already been distributed."
Jiang's words made Newton sigh.
"However..."
Jiang's words sparked a glimmer of hope in Newton.
"What is it?"
"Do you remember the armor we used to imprison the Purgatory Seven Affiliates? That armor is still usable; only the one that held Hades is damaged."
"Alright, let's send these armors over first, and then... how long will it take for us to return to the gathering point at the Dark Guild?"
"Time isn't the issue. The key point is that you left suddenly, and Diroth was killed by you, so..."
"So it's likely that those guys at the Dark Guild will start to panic soon, right? If we can't get back in time, we might end up scattering them all. Once they disperse, it will be a hassle to regroup so many people."
Newton nodded.
"Use all the energy to hurry back to the Guild as quickly as possible. The other armors can go ahead directly. If a battle breaks out, we will execute a complete annihilation strategy."
"Understood."
Jiang responded and then the eight armors surged into action.
With fifty percent of their energy, they maintained structural integrity at high speeds, and Newton returned in less than an hour.
"Bss?"
Jin was puzzled about how Newton had returned so suddenly.
"Jin, level one alert. Anyone who comes looking for Fairy Tail should be turned away. I'll deal with any issues when I get back."
Newton could only give a hasty command before grabbing seven or eight Energy Sources from the lab and directly attaching one to each armor.
"Jin, keep an eye on the place."
Jin didn't say anything. Newton's anxious demeanor gave him an unsettling feeling, especially with that last statement about keeping an eye on things; it seemed something serious had happened.
"Activate level one alert. All guards mobilize. The Guild is to enter maximum security status. At the same time, send part of the guard team to Fairy Tail. Anyone who dares to attack Fairy Tail should be detained immediately! Also, notify all members of Fairy Tail outside to return; any breach of contract will be covered by the Guild."
On the other side, Newton was unaware of Blonde's orders. Even if he had known, it wouldn't have changed much; he would only be grateful that Old had given him such a capable assistant.
Things were simpler on the other side because when Newton arrived, he found that the battle had already begun.
This fight was originally meant to be suppressed, but it wasn't that easy. Diroth was dead, and Ugly was missing. It looked like the two had failed to reach an agreement and had clashed directly, with Ugly killing and fleeing.
The crowd had been quite displeased with Ugly, thinking they could eliminate him and take his place. However, with the armor suppressing them, they couldn't act. Now that Ugly was gone and the armor was absent, and with Ugly having killed Diroth, they had a reason to attack Mu.
Mu was stunned; there was no way to plead for mercy. At this point, everyone was blinded by rage, and in the end, no one could tell who was who anymore. Not just Mu and his group; even Diroth's people were caught in the fray. This was a classic case of rebellion. Diroth's followers had hoped to contact Demon Heart, but communication was impossible—of course it was; the entire Guild had been flattened, so anyone they could reach would be a miracle.
But perhaps this was for the best; the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The main adversaries, Mu and Diroth's people, ended up forming an alliance against each other. The two Guild factions held their ground in the castle, fortified by numerous defensive spells; otherwise, they would have been overrun long ago.
"Damn it, your Ugly really can't be trusted!"
Diroth's people complained to Mu. What could Mu do? He could only nod helplessly; there was no way around it—he had been thoroughly betrayed this time.
"Stop complaining for now. The most critical thing is how we can survive and leave this place. Once we manage to escape alive, I will definitely..."
"What will you do?"
Newton's voice rang out from above, causing Mu to shiver involuntarily as he looked up to see Puppeteer floating in mid-air.
"Mr. Mu, you haven't answered yet. If you survive, what will you do?"
That voice sounded like a combination of a demon and a messenger in Mu's ears—the demon because he felt he had just made a reckless move, and the messenger because salvation had arrived.
"I will serve you well, my lord, and assist Circus in its endeavors."
Mu said flatteringly.
"Hmph."
The person beside Diroth let out a cold snort, looking at Mu with disdain.
"Hey, don't be angry. I actually plan to recruit you all from Underworld Gate this time..."
"Boom!"
Newton charged in from above, not wearing armor. Even the Puppeteer had disguised himself; he didn't want his connection to the ugly armor exposed. So, in mid-air, he took off the armor and let it drop.
"What are you doing?"
The Diroth member scoffed even more, looking at the ugly figure with mockery.
"Heh heh, you'll know soon enough. If it weren't for this news, I wouldn't have left so suddenly."
The ugly figure curled his lip and then flashed a charming smile.
"Alright, now let's suppress these fools who are seeking death."
