"How troublesome."
Azuma frowned, finding it quite difficult to fight. Although his magic could easily withstand the attacks of two opponents while launching powerful counterattacks, the use of forbidden magic came with risks. The risk of the Arc of the Tree was that if overused, it could easily turn him into a tree himself. Now, the ongoing attacks were becoming too much for Azuma to bear.
"Are you thinking of escaping?"
In battle, the worst thing was to lose focus and will to fight. Now, instead of barely defending against Erza and Miraj's attacks, Azuma felt a desire to retreat. His attacks were decreasing, and his defenses were increasing.
"Erza, what should we do? It's hard to break through."
Miraj was somewhat annoyed; the surrounding trees seemed to regenerate endlessly. Destroying one layer only resulted in ten more sprouting up, which was incredibly frustrating.
"Erza, Mira, the Thunder God Clan is on their way. Although I don't know why, this guy's attack strength has weakened. Let's try to stall until they arrive and then deal with him."
Newton informed the two about the Thunder God Clan's impending support, but both of them felt somewhat displeased. Did they really think the Thunder God Clan could handle it? Why did it feel like they were being underestimated?
Magic is a manifestation of one's heart, so when emotions fluctuated intensely, it naturally led to an explosion.
"What the hell? What's going on?"
Azuma was taken aback; everything had been going relatively smoothly until this sudden outburst. Had he done something out of line?
Newton raised an eyebrow, as if considering trying a different approach.
Switching perspectives, he arrived at Kildas's battlefield. Although he couldn't get close, he could still project his voice from the outskirts.
"Kildas! Kana is crying her eyes out looking for you!"
It was a simple sentence, yet for Kildas, a devoted father, the fact that he had failed to recognize his daughter for over ten years made this love all the more terrifying.
Initially, he was evenly matched with the guy manipulating gravity; they exchanged blows back and forth. However, with a single phrase from Newton, Kildas erupted.
"Get away from me!"
Kildas was already furious that these guys had disrupted his daughter's exam, but upon hearing that she was crying and looking for him? His magical power surged to three hundred percent.
"What..."
Brunot was taken aback. He had thought that Kildas would be about his level, but suddenly he had exploded. A daughter? The reason for this guy's outburst was too bizarre!
"You attacked our Guild, and that makes me very angry. Do you have any idea how much those kids were looking forward to this exam?!"
Without using magic, Kildas slammed Brunot's head into the ground, shattering the surface beneath them. Kildas then walked away with a chilling demeanor.
"The most unforgivable part is that you dared to bully my daughter!"
"Wow, you really are a devoted father. I've never seen anyone like you."
Newton approached cautiously, fearing that if Kildas lost control, he might end up shattered himself.
"Kildas, where is Kana now?"
Kildas looked on the verge of tears, truly resembling an idiot father.
"Alright, alright, you control yourself. I'll take you over there now."
Kana, Zhubian, and Lisanna were facing Melty, one of the Seven Kin. According to the intel, she was a Mage capable of linking her senses with others. Newton wasn't particularly worried about such a person. Although Fairy Tail was a noisy and disorderly bunch of idiots, the one thing he knew for sure was that they were all good people. It would be strange if their sense of connection didn't assimilate with him; he could already see another key player being successfully swayed.
In fact, the situation was quite similar. Melty was someone who executed orders with near coldness, and this time was no exception. Based on various calculated data, she had placed Makarov at the top of her kill list, with Gray in second place. At least this surprised Newton.
However, the plot soon took a terrifying turn. Zhubian had feelings for Gray, which was common knowledge in Fairy Tail. It was clear how that ice-cold guy managed to win over this Rain Woman, making her so devoted. Upon hearing that Melty planned to kill Gray, Zhubian erupted.
Soaked and dripping, with her head bowed low, she looked no different from a ghost. Being able to transform into water made her indifferent to ordinary attacks; even if she got hurt, her strong emotions suppressed any pain. In an instant, Zhubian found herself overpowering Melty in combat.
"Uh... is this not our business?"
Kana awkwardly glanced at Lisanna.
"Ah ha! A girl in love really is... passionate!"
Suddenly, a heavy armored arm struck down on Zhubian's armor, leaving a clear handprint on its surface.
"Kana, are you alright?"
Lisanna rushed over as the helmet lifted. Kana gasped for breath before shaking her head.
"I'm fine; just feeling a bit tight in my chest."
At that moment, they noticed the newcomer—a hefty figure known for using Ugly Time Descends: Hua Yuan.
"Ha, look what I found! Two lone Mages from Fairy Tail and one Mage fighting with Melty. Now I can easily take down three of them..."
By the end, his speech had completely exceeded human comprehension.
Kana and Lisanna exchanged glances, both donning their armor. According to the intel, the enemy was likely to use puppets to control them, so they couldn't give the opponent a chance to obtain their hair.
However, this limited Lisanna's abilities and Kana's card magic significantly. Fortunately, Newton's armor still had quite a few weapons, allowing the two girls to feel like children who had just received new toys.
Hua Yuan couldn't obtain the hair of the two girls and could only enhance himself. He transformed the puppet material into cotton for flight and into steel to increase attack and defense power. The puppets could even emit light, attacking like flashbangs.
"Damn it! That guy dares to bully my daughter!" Kildas roared as he prepared to charge out.
"If you do that, Kana will definitely hate you. Don't you believe it? What Kana wants is to grow on her own, not always be under your wing. Otherwise, she wouldn't have avoided you for so long. She wants to become an S-Class Mage, believing she deserves to be recognized by you."
Kildas immediately wilted.
"Then what should I do?"
"Hey, don't underestimate our Guild's daughters; they're all a bunch of iron ladies."
