“President? Old man, what other secrets from your past do you have?”
Newton was no longer anxious and teased Makarov through the voice transmission.
“No, he is our Fairy Tail's second President, one of the four founders of the Guild, and also my mentor in magic.”
At this revelation, the entire room fell silent; no one expected that this Dark Guild's President could be so formidable.
“Well then, let’s test this guy's strength.”
Under Newton's command, a suit of armor charged forward. However, a flame shot over from the side, obstructing Newton's line of sight, followed by something resembling a Sharp Blade that flew toward him.
Unfortunately for Newton, his suits of armor shared visual input, so even though one suit's view was blocked, it easily dodged the attack.
“Hah! Burn in my divine flames!”
Like a madman, he shouted, eager to witness his enemy's suffering, but the armor only became slightly charred on the surface.
“Trash.”
“Arc of Time!”
At that moment, Newton's armor began to rust and ultimately turned into a pile of scrap metal.
“Tsk, self-destruct!”
The Energy Source instantly released a massive amount of energy, and the discarded armor truly shattered into pieces.
“Ultia.”
Newton fell silent for a moment. The pressure from the armor was truly immense; living beings did not consume each other's magic, but the lifeless armor was being utterly defeated before them.
"What a ridiculous toy."
Hades tapped his wand, and chains of magical energy flew toward the armor, but they were too slow to catch up.
"Buzz!"
A magic circle surrounded the armor.
"Shine."
Makarov felt a pang of nostalgia; this spell was one that Hades had once taught him.
"Boom!"
The magical explosion occurred, but to Demon Heart's surprise, the armor seemed to have sustained little damage. Only a few pieces fell apart and became useless, yet several others were still thrown forward. Although they were destroyed as they approached the Airship, the explosion still impacted the Airship's defensive magic.
"Watch this! Appear, Hunter Hero Aislin!"
With a wave of his hand, a figure resembling a ram summoned a human wielding a bow and arrow, and the magically charged arrows shot toward the armor.
"This is Aries. Why summon a human?"
Rocky immediately recognized this heroic spirit and glanced at Lucy.
"And this guy should..."
The battle against the armor continued. At that moment, a chubby figure dashed swiftly to the side of the armor and effortlessly dismantled one piece in just a few moves before skillfully landing back on the ground.
"Is that guy enhanced physically?"
Newton pondered for a moment, trying to keep his distance from Ultia while moving closer to the fat man. He let all his armor fall onto the deck, creating chaos, and at that moment, many people became obstacles for the enemy.
However, this highlighted the difference in the Dark Guild; those reckless individuals were mercilessly slaughtering their own guild members. Even though others did not actively engage, they were indifferent to the situation.
At that moment, Newton noticed that the fat man seemed to be holding something. He had summoned a piece of armor and upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a doll with a strand of hair on it.
"Jiang, check if there are any matching spells. There are many, but it seems he controls the owner of the hair through manipulation of the doll."
Jiang quickly analyzed the magical nature of the opponent's abilities. After all, their combat style was distinctive and easy to analyze. In contrast, some common styles were harder to decipher. For instance, they knew the opponent was playing with fire, but it was different from ordinary flames and Natsu's dragon fire. The magic of Aries Celestial Spirit was similar to Celestial Spirit magic but reversed; instead of summoning celestial beings, it summoned humans. They were quite adept at dealing with a Celestial Spirit here since there were Celestial Spirits and Celestial Spirit Mages present.
However, one individual puzzled Newton: a fashionable man wearing glasses who resembled Sting but seemed capable of using reception magic, appearing quite versatile.
"Versatile?"
Suddenly, Newton thought of his own Alchemy skills and became interested in this individual. If he could learn this person's magic, it would significantly enhance his own abilities.
Then there was another character who looked like a long-faced donkey with a long braid. His attacks were incredibly fierce; he wielded gravity magic and was indeed a formidable warrior.
But there was still one issue: Demon Heart also had its notable figures, namely the Purgatory Seven Affiliates. Now counting Hades, there were indeed seven people involved, but have you ever seen a President on par with his members? So there must be another one.
"Everyone stay alert; I suspect someone has already infiltrated Wolf Island. Be aware of your surroundings and avoid being ambushed."
Newton immediately warned everyone. The subsequent battle unfolded without suspense; although the armor was decent, it paled in comparison to the Purgatory Seven Affiliates. Newton's armor only posed minor hindrances to Lackey.
"Alright, their welcoming ceremony is over; now we need to show them our own ceremony!"
Hades was visibly furious because this situation made him feel humiliated. As he spoke, an explosion occurred; Wolf Island shook visibly, and then the massive tree in the center began to collapse.
"Damn it! There's really one more on the island!"
Newton cursed. The reason Wolf Island was known as the Fairy Tail Sanctuary was that every member of Fairy Tail received a buff here, with their magical power constantly in a state of abundance. This boost was no small matter, especially after everyone had exhausted themselves during the exam. Fortunately, he was equipped for the challenge.
Immediately, several boxes of potions were carried out by his armor.
"Hurry up and restore your status; this time it's going to be a real tough battle!"
Without a moment's hesitation, everyone began to replenish their energy.
"Newton, I'll leave the command to you this time."
Makarov said solemnly, trusting that Newton could bear this heavy responsibility.
"Hey, if we lose, I'm definitely going to kill you when we get back."
Laxus had no objections either; it was clear he was no longer concerned about leadership. Perhaps after spending time with Newton, he had grown accustomed to being led?
"Then, everyone, let's show these guys the power of our Fairy Tail Mages!"
