"I'm sorry, sir, but there may be more than one high-energy alert. A large flying object is heading towards Wolf Island."
Jiang's report was nothing short of disastrous for Newton.
"Can we make it there in time if we rush?"
"It's difficult."
Jiang's words completely dashed Newton's hopes of getting there quickly.
"Have the armor fly at full speed, but keep energy consumption under fifty percent."
Newton gave the order and then leaned out.
"Mu, I need to go into seclusion now! Don't let anyone disturb me; if anyone comes in, I'll take your life!"
Without waiting for Mu's reaction, he continued, "Jiang, connect the signal to me. I need to take remote control."
Newton removed a component from the Mechanical Arm and plugged it into Jiang.
"Alright, you go outside and keep watch, Alchemy!"
A metal helmet appeared in Newton's hand, and on the other side at Wolf Island, the armor took over control but continued executing the previous command to investigate the high-energy reaction.
"Jelf?"
Newton felt as though he was having an exceptionally bad day; this character from the legends was actually alive?
"Who are you? No, wait, is that a magical armor? How intriguing. There's no one inside, right?"
Jelf's tone surprised Newton. In Newton's impression, Jelf, as a Dark Mage, should be someone akin to Joseph based on the literature he had read. Yet, seeing him in person, he appeared so soft?
"No."
The armor opened its mask, revealing nothing inside.
"I am Newton from Fairy Tail. You must be Jelf, right? What are you doing here?"
"I... came to pay my respects and also wanted to see someone."
Jelf was filled with sorrow, and then an ominous magical power erupted around him, causing the surrounding flowers and trees to wither and decay.
"This..."
Newton was stunned. What just happened? The other party had used magic effortlessly, as if it were a natural instinct like breathing.
"Isn't it tragic..."
Jelf became even more sorrowful.
"Being close to me will only bring harm. I am just an ominous person, someone who can't even die if I wanted to."
Could this really be Jelf speaking? Newton felt he must have encountered a fake Jelf, yet that power was undeniably real.
"Then... the person coming over now isn't someone you summoned, right?"
Newton asked tentatively.
"Who is coming over now?" Jelf shook his head. "I don't know; I just came here to see Natsu."
Jelf shook his head again.
"Natsu?"
Although he wanted to ask why Natsu was involved, he decided that for now, he could consider the other person harmless.
"Many people are heading this way right now. I think it's very likely they are coming for you, so could you please hide for a moment?"
Newton tried to remain humble. If the other person exploded in anger, it wouldn't matter if the island was destroyed, but the people on the island would be in danger.
"No problem, but as you can see, I'm like this..."
Indeed, being so conspicuous made it hard to go anywhere without drawing attention. However, as long as he could isolate his magical power, it shouldn't be a big issue.
"That's alright. I have a device here. If you trust me, I might be able to temporarily make you less... terrifying."
Newton had come to understand that Jelf was likely a good-natured person, probably similar to Kildas. If Kildas represented destruction, then Jelf might represent death; it would be strange if he were not seen as a Dark Mage by others.
"Please step into this armor."
The armor opened up. Newton had equipped it with a magical isolation device made by Jabir, but whether it would work on such a renowned figure was uncertain.
"Alright."
Jelf complied and stepped into the armor. Immediately, there was a surge of energy; Newton watched the data as the armor nearly shattered from the impact.
"No problem!"
Jelf looked around at the flowers and plants, feeling a sense of surprise. Although he couldn't touch them directly, they were not dead.
"You’re really impressive," he said.
"But this won't last long. Once you've resolved your matters here, I hope you can leave. Otherwise, Natsu and the others will be in danger."
Now Newton could only try to persuade him using Natsu, as there was no other way.
"Alright, it seems I'm starting to take an interest in you."
"If you're willing, we can talk more in the future."
After chatting for a while, Newton realized he actually liked Jelf; his first impression was quite good.
"Well, from now on, I might not be able to help you much. Ginger will assist you."
Newton handed over the operation of the armor to Ginger and activated the self-destruct mechanism. He didn't fully trust this Dark Mage.
He switched the view to several other armors that were rushing over. They were surprisingly fast, and along the way, they encountered some unexpected arrivals from Ginger's side.
"Demon Heart!"
Upon seeing the insignia on the ship, he immediately recognized whose airship it was and quickly ordered several armors to retreat while most remained behind.
"Erza!"
The flying armors quickly landed beside everyone and updated them on the current situation.
"Demon Heart?"
Makarov was furious. How dare they appear here at Fairy Tail Sanctuary? He was determined to make them pay!
"Old man, wait! Everyone, don't resist just yet!"
Armor enveloped each person, and then their vision connected with the sky, where everyone could see the Demon Heart Airship.
"Listen to me. The armor you are wearing is tailored to your bodies. It may not enhance your magic much, but it can still withstand some attacks. Think of it as ordinary magical armor with a few added functions. What you see in the sky is the armor; I will let these armors test the magic of Demon Heart. Be ready for battle!"
Newton's tone made everyone feel the tension. If Demon Heart launched a full-scale attack, it would be tough for everyone in Fairy Tail. Their only advantage was Newton's probing and the geographical advantage of Wolf Island. Everyone anxiously watched the screen.
Boom!
A missile was fired, but the Magic Airship didn't budge; it showed no signs of being breached. However, people inside still emerged.
"Oh? Is this a Magical Puppet? A new toy created by Fairy Tail?"
A tall elder, wearing an eye patch, looked at the armor with great interest.
"Prechto... President?"
