"We... are back?"
Natsu felt dizzy, lying on the ground and looking around.
"Is the Guild okay now?"
"It's fine, look."
Erza pushed aside the bushes, revealing the Guild once again in front of everyone.
"Yay!"
Seeing that their Guild was unharmed, everyone couldn't help but cheer.
"Wait, why are these guys here?"
Sharlulu suddenly shouted, as all the Transcenders from Edras were present.
"According to Jabir's magic, their magic power has been nullified, so it's not too surprising that the Transcenders with magic power were sent over, right?"
Newton adjusted the sphere in his hand. Inside it was not just an artificial intelligence; it stored all of Jabir's knowledge. Besides being an AI, it was also a massive Electronic Library.
"I disagree; these guys are too dangerous!"
Sharlulu's reaction surprised Newton, and he looked at Erza and the others.
"What's wrong? Why is Sharlulu reacting so strongly?"
"Well, Sharlulu seems to think she was brought here to select the Dragon Slayer Mage, and it's all because of her that we got pulled over."
Haru had been with Sharlulu the entire time, so he understood the situation better than anyone else here.
"These guys sent us here! They even forced some kind of mission on us! I don't acknowledge these guys at all!"
Sharlulu was quite angry. Although they were from her hometown and had saved them, that didn't mean Sharlulu had to accept them.
"That's not how it is; I didn't impose any mission on you or anything like that."
The speaker had a crescent-shaped mark made up of dots around his left eye, and it seemed that the other Transcenders held him in high regard.
"In fact, you possess the same prophetic abilities as I do. Those aren't missions we gave you; they're visions you've seen yourself."
"Prophetic abilities?"
Newton was surprised. The only time-related abilities he had encountered were Ultia's lost magic, Arc of Time, and this Transcender's foresight. Time and space—these two areas of study weren't even covered by Alchemy.
"Prophecy?"
Sharlulu was taken aback. She wasn't an Idiot, though she could be tsundere. Upon hearing this, she immediately sensed something was off. Why did she have the same ability as him? Was it a coincidence? But no one else seemed to have similar abilities, right?
"Alright, alright."
Newton stepped in to mediate.
"If that's the case, then it seems these cats are just flying cats after all. Sharlulu, they don't seem to have any ill intentions; why not let them go for now?"
Newton did not mention anything about forgiveness. Even if the speculation turned out to be true, given his tsundere personality, it was unlikely he would be so straightforward. Instead, he might even lash out due to his pride. It would be better to let the relationship between both sides cool down a bit first.
"Hmph, then you all can stay here for now! But you must keep a close eye on them!" Sharlulu said to Newton, who secretly chuckled at the thought that "keeping an eye" could be interpreted as "taking care of."
Newton approached the cat that seemed to be the leader and the mother of some kittens.
"So, this lady is the Queen?"
"Just call me Charlotte. I am no longer a Queen," she replied.
Charlotte did not seem particularly enthusiastic about power; for these cats, survival might be the most important thing.
"Alright then, Ms. Charlotte. If you have nowhere else to go, how about coming to work for me?"
Newton thought about how there were hundreds or even thousands of cats here. Although they were mostly humanoid, there were also some with large faces like One Night's, but many were adorable little creatures with soft paws and fur. One particularly cute one was shaking its little hands up and down.
"Grrr."
Newton couldn't help but swallow hard.
"Um, you look quite similar to Mr. Jabir..."
Charlotte was unsure how to respond. If Newton was like Jabir over there, then they really didn't believe he could provide work for them. Moreover, the look in his eyes seemed anything but kind towards them.
"How about this? You come with me to take a look, and if everything seems fine, you can stay with me for now since you have nowhere else to go."
Charlotte nodded. When she first arrived, she thought that since Edras's matters no longer concerned her and her fellow cats, she would prepare to retrieve the children she had sent away in the past. However, lacking money and just having arrived, she hadn't yet established herself. Therefore, having a local guide would greatly help her and the others integrate into this place.
"Alright, you all head back to the Guild first. I'll take these cats to the Guild," Newton said to Erza, signaling for them to go ahead before calling out to Gajeel.
"Gajeel, wait a moment."
Gajeel looked eagerly at Newton, excited that he had finally been called. With so many cats around, could it be that he would finally have his own?
"You know what I want to do, right? Go ahead and choose for yourself; it's up to your charm."
Gajeel immediately began to look for which cat would suit him.
"That one?" Charlotte asked, somewhat puzzled.
"That's also a Dragon Slayer Mage. Didn't you notice? You all seem to have a connection with Dragon Slayer Mages. Gajeel wants his own cat. Don't worry; even though Gajeel looks a bit fierce, he's actually a good person."
While Erza and the others returned to the Guild, Newton led Charlotte back as well.
"Boss, you're back?" Jin's reaction surprised Newton because it seemed he knew what had happened. However, according to Erza and the others, people shouldn't remember what occurred when they turned into Magic Crystals.
"You know?"
"Well, I have a bit of an impression."
Jin nodded, and Newton didn't ask further questions; after all, everyone has their own secrets.
"Alright, take a look. These cats are all ones I brought back from Edras. See if there are any suitable professions for them, and if they have any thoughts, do your best to help them out."
Jin nodded again.
"Do you want me to keep a few for you?"
"Of course, just don't pick anything too strange. If there's one like Square Face that doesn't want to participate, don't force them."
Jin nodded, well aware of Newton's preferences as a competent subordinate.
"By the way, come with me to the lab. I have some interesting things to show you."
Newton let Charlotte and the others browse around casually while he led Jin toward the laboratory.
