"Have they already been captured?"
Newton looked bewildered. Despite his rush, he had still arrived too late. By the time he returned, the chaos had already subsided. Erza had led the army to arrest Natsu, Wendy, and Lucy.
"Don't worry, they're all fine. It's just that they are quite a noisy bunch."
Jabir rubbed his temples, while Erza sat beside him.
"By the way, there were two Transcenders with those three. I've already sent them to where the Transcenders reside. Since that's the abode of the gods, I couldn't go up there myself. However, I did manage to slip them a note informing them of the king's plans. Now I just hope they don't act too foolishly."
Erza was aware of all the king's plans and, upon learning that a few Transcenders were Newton's companions, she tried to relay the message to them.
"Well, they shouldn't be in danger for now, right?"
If the king intended to kill Natsu and the others immediately, Newton would have no choice but to take a risk and intervene.
"No, the king needs the magic power of Dragon Slayer Mages to activate the Dragon Lock Cannon. So those two Dragon Slayer Mages are definitely safe. I've also spoken to that girl named Lucy; she should be fine."
Erza was indeed quite thorough in her actions.
"Thanks."
Newton nodded at Erza and then turned to Jabir.
"With the Dragon Slayer Mages in hand, it seems the king's plan is about to commence."
"Well, that's about it. I've also completed the final inspection of the weapons that the king entrusted me to create, which can convert those cats into magical power. They've already been distributed to various units."
Jabir felt a surge of excitement; his plan was about to begin.
"Knock, knock, knock."
At that moment, someone knocked on Jabir's door.
"Idiot, go see who it is."
Jabir was curious about who would come to find him at this time.
"It's Prince Gerald, sir."
"Does he have anyone else with him?"
This was Newton asking, as Jabir recalled that Gerard was the one who rescued Lucy. Did Jabir manage to save more people?
"There are three others dressed in cloaks."
Idiot reported truthfully.
"It seems they should be our Guild members. Is this considered a pre-battle meeting?"
Newton smiled and walked toward the door with Jabir, ready to greet his two companions.
"Alright, don't be surprised. There's a friend of mine here, but his face is one you're all quite familiar with."
Mister Gang gave a warning glance to the few people behind him.
"Newton?"
"Two of them?"
When the door opened, the three were still shocked; seeing two identical faces in front of them was quite a revelation.
"Mister Gang, didn't you save more people? But this is still pretty good. Long time no see, Erza, Gray, Gajeel."
"Tch, I really don't want to meet you, you guy."
Gajeel scoffed, his feelings towards Newton were definitely not positive.
"Alright, come in."
Jabir welcomed everyone inside, and the three were left stunned.
"Another... another me?"
Erza was also unsettled. Looking at the Erza sitting in the room, she felt as if she were staring into a mirror.
"Hello, you must be me from another world. You look pretty strong too."
Edras's Erza was quite generous, perhaps because she had grown accustomed to seeing Jabir and Newton together.
Erza quickly regained her composure, no longer surprised, and looked at herself with great interest.
"How peculiar. I never expected that in this world, I would not be a member of the Guild but rather an enemy of it."
"Honestly, if it weren't for Newton, I would have shown no mercy to those Guild members."
Erza shook her head. She was the type of person who was loyal and devoted to her beliefs. In Aslant, where the Guild was dominant, anything opposing the Guild would be excluded by Erza. This Erza was no different; it was just that the Guild's position was replaced by the kingdom here.
"Well, even though I haven't seen the Guild from another world, I know those guys won't be so easily dealt with."
Erza was quite proud; no matter the world, her Guild was the strongest!
"I wonder how those guys feel being chased like a bunch of lost dogs."
Erza mocked.
"Calm down, calm down!"
Mister Gang immediately prepared to mediate, while Gray had already curled up in a corner, trembling under the pressure of the dual Erzas.
"They really don't get along well," Newton remarked as he sat down with Jabir, both savoring their tea.
"Indeed, but it seems that others don't have this situation."
Jabir's interest in research flared up, but just as the spark appeared, it was extinguished. Faced with Erza, especially after their relationship had been confirmed, he truly felt intimidated.
"Forget it, here."
Jabir handed a cup to Gajeel.
"Magic really is a fascinating thing; it can actually change the structure of a person's body."
"That's not impossible in science either. If you happen to get your hands on biotechnology, you could find ways to alter human genes and give people corresponding abilities through organs."
Newton didn't believe that science couldn't achieve this. In the world of Type-Moon, magic was something beyond human technology, while sorcery could be realized through human technology. As technology advanced to a certain point, magic would only become less prevalent. So while these magical phenomena seemed wondrous now, Newton believed that given time, technology could reach similar heights.
"That's true."
Jabir nodded and then took out an aluminum basin, handing it to Gajeel.
"Why don't you try this?"
Gajeel hesitated for a moment, but it looked like it was metal too, so he bit into it.
"It's a bit soft; it seems different from the iron I usually eat. It tastes somewhat like cabbage."
This assessment left both Newton and Jabir in silence. Aluminum tastes like cabbage?
"Try this one..."
Jabir handed Gajeel a piece of metal, which was not iron, but steel.
"Crunch."
Gajeel frowned as he chewed.
"It's a bit hard, has better toughness, and tastes similar to iron, but it's not that great. However, I can feel it."
One of Gajeel's arms transformed into a dragon's limb, slightly darkened on the surface.
"I can feel the hardness has been enhanced."
"Let's go conduct some experiments."
Jabir pulled Gajeel toward the laboratory, and Newton immediately followed. The two had already decided to have Gajeel test all the metal elements.
