In the end, Gajeel still couldn't find his cat, and the Celestial Spirit ultimately couldn't meet Gajeel's demands. After all, the Celestial Spirit also needed to sign a contract, and given Gajeel's personality, there were very few Celestial Spirits he could actually connect with.
What frustrated Newton the most was that who knew if Erza had suddenly awakened? He had merely gotten a little closer when Erza knocked him unconscious with a single punch. When he came to, he found himself lying on his own sofa.
"Does this count as sleeping on the sofa?"
Newton rubbed his head; he had actually slept quite well.
"Yes, it does. At least for the next few days, you can forget about getting into bed."
Miraj still wore a smile on her face. Although she seemed slightly dissatisfied, she sighed inwardly.
"I'm sorry."
Newton hadn't expected to become someone who straddled two boats. He truly felt like a jerk towards Miraj.
"Hmph, fine. Who told you to be such an outstanding guy?"
Miraj sighed again.
"Sometimes having a boyfriend who's too exceptional can be disheartening. By the way, when are you planning to bring Erza over?"
"Um, not anytime soon, I guess?"
Newton looked awkward and then stood up to gently block Miraj's path.
"Hey, Isaac, I'm a woman too, and I can get jealous."
Miraj felt a bit downcast. She knew Erza very well, and naturally, she was happy for her lifelong friend to find happiness. But this was her boyfriend.
"I know, I'm sorry."
Newton truly felt embarrassed, but at that moment, what else could he say besides apologizing?
"Forget it. Just remember, if you want to bring a girl home next time, you must get my approval first!"
Miraj immediately perked up, full of energy, hands on her hips as she looked up at Newton.
"That won't happen again."
Newton shook his head; he had never intended to pursue anyone. Everything was just a bit spontaneous, going with the flow.
"Hmph, that's not good. You've been with Reby for quite a while now, right? Over time, feelings can develop. Erza and I were both won over by you like that. And then there's Kana—she might not have feelings for you, but Kildas definitely does. He might even force you to be his son-in-law..."
"That daughter complex? No way."
Well, Newton didn't argue about Reby; he tapped the blackboard and adjusted his glasses for emphasis.
"Seriously, why are you such an outstanding guy?"
Miraj was a bit exasperated.
"Come on, you can't let the girls down!"
"Okay, okay."
Newton forced a smile and nodded.
"Don't worry, from now on, whether it's you or Erza, I will take good care of both of you."
"Yeah, Erza, did you hear that?"
Newton felt himself stiffen, and then he saw Queen, her face already steaming, rigidly walking down from upstairs.
"Love!"
Queen had transformed into Haru!
"Um..."
Newton felt incredibly awkward; honestly, if it weren't for the concern of hurting Miraj, he might have twisted away and caused his mechanical arm to explode.
"I invited her over."
At that moment, Miraj revealed a devilish grin and stuck out her tongue.
"I've already moved Erza in, but there are just too many pieces of armor, so I didn't move into the dormitory."
"Um, I'll go make dinner."
Newton's face turned bright red as he hurried to the kitchen.
"Um, Mira..."
Erza approached Miraj, feeling a bit conflicted. She was quite surprised when she heard Miraj invite her to move in earlier that afternoon. Reflecting on it now, she felt rather embarrassed about how easily she had agreed to such a whimsical suggestion.
"It's nothing. From now on, we are sisters. Just remember to call me Big Sister," Miraj said, striking a pose reminiscent of her old delinquent self, waving her hand dramatically as if to assert her dominance.
"Huh?" Erza immediately felt dissatisfied. After all these years of rivalry, was it just going to be that easy for Miraj to claim the title of leader?
"How useless! Let's battle!" Erza declared as she donned her armor.
"Hmph, I will win," Miraj replied confidently. She stood tall, and indeed, her weaponry was stronger than Erza's. After all, it had been developed over many years by someone special, and a girl in love truly was different—this was something Queen had always recognized.
"Smack!" A vein popped on Your Majesty's forehead.
"Change outfit!" Miraj commanded, transforming into a Gothic Lolita ensemble.
The sudden shift in style left Miraj momentarily speechless before she dashed upstairs to retrieve her own clothes.
"Costume battle, Sar!"
Miraj had brought out her entire wardrobe, while Erza kept changing outfits.
Miraj's lady-like attire, delinquent outfit, and Erza's beastly costume—there were various styles that truly delighted someone who had just arrived.
"Hmm, perfect. Actually, I think you should try this one, Mira."
Newton handed a piece of clothing to Miraj and then turned to Erza.
"Erza, you should try that one on."
Then he raised his camera, snapping pictures continuously.
"Hmph, you lost."
Miraj was smug, fully aware of the criteria these two were using to compare. Newton had no idea; he only knew that Miraj had won while Erza looked like a defeated dog.
"Alright, are we done? Let's go; dinner is ready. We should eat."
"Newton!"
"Isaac!"
"When did you arrive!?"
"I got here a while ago and collected quite a few treasures."
Newton shook his camera, a lewd expression on his face.
"Hand it over!"
Miraj transformed and dashed forward to snatch the camera. Erza also donned her armor, swinging her sword to cut off Newton's escape route.
"You two really work well together."
As expected of old rivals, they understood each other perfectly. Newton tossed the camera into the air, and Miraj immediately shifted her attack. Newton dodged Erza's sword, gripping the camera strap once more.
"Give it to me!"
Miraj shouted instantly.
"No way, this is my treasure."
Newton replied with a grin.
"A month..."
Newton's smile froze, while Erza had no idea what a month meant.
"Two months..."
"Whoosh!"
Newton immediately offered the camera with both hands.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong!"
"Hmph."
Miraj nodded in satisfaction and deleted the contents from the camera.
"Well, about those two months..."
Newton smiled obsequiously, rubbing his hands together, looking quite the part.
"Hmm?"
Miraj immediately raised an eyebrow, causing Newton to fall silent. Nodding in satisfaction, Miraj took Erza out for a meal. Along the way, Erza kept asking what the two months meant, but Miraj just smiled and had no intention of explaining.
"Ah, thankfully, my Mechanical Arm still has a photo function."
Newton let out a long sigh of relief.
