"Hello, do you know me?"
Newton looked at Gerard. Although this face was already familiar, there was something slightly different about it.
"Me? I should know you, right?"
This statement surprised everyone, especially Brian, who had been thinking that they might have another super powerhouse on their side, but this...
"Have you lost your memory?"
Brian quickly grasped the key point and fixed his gaze on Wendy.
"Is this your doing?"
"If he really has come back to life, then it's not surprising that his memory is damaged due to the soul's condition. And don't forget, she died because of the R system. Honestly, I'm amazed you were able to find him. It's quite normal for memories to be affected after an attack from the R system."
Newton approached Gerard, who seemed only slightly nervous and did not show any extreme reactions.
"Erza?"
Newton suddenly asked.
"Uh, my head!"
In a classic amnesia scenario, Gerard clutched his head in pain.
"It seems he really has lost his memory. However, if you don't mind, I could try to stimulate his memory to help him remember something."
Brian hesitated as he looked at Newton. Although the other seemed somewhat confident, he wondered if this guy genuinely wanted to help.
"Don't worry, I won't use any tricks."
Newton waved his hand.
"If you're worried, you can stay..."
Before Newton could finish his sentence, someone burst in.
"Where are the Six Demon Generals?"
Natsu rushed in, surveying all the enemies and his target in the room. He also noticed Newton and began to ponder how best to proceed.
"I suggest you calm down, Mr. Fire Dragon."
Newton didn't trust the other's acting skills; if he was seen through, it would spell trouble for him. He directly grabbed Haru.
"If you don't want to see your companions die before your eyes."
At the same time, Newton shot a glance at Laxus, who immediately understood and seized Wendy.
"Damn it! Let them go! If you have the guts, fight me fair and square!"
Natsu was straightforward and didn't overthink things. His reaction was just right, preventing excessive communication with the enemy; anger often masked all other emotions.
Boom!
It seemed Natsu's arrival was merely a signal; a cannon from the magic ship fired, but its power was only a warning.
Brian didn't believe they would actually bomb them directly; after all, they still had hostages in their hands.
However, they forgot about Newton's presence. Now there were two hostages—one in Newton's grasp and one in Laxus's.
"This is bad; the place is about to collapse! Musician, run!"
Brian felt a surge of frustration at the words, thinking, why are they running? If they stay here, do they really think they can blow up the cave? But Newton had already dashed out with Haru and Laxus, clutching Wendy tightly.
“Damn it!”
Brian cursed loudly. Although reviving Gerard and Wendy was pointless now, taking the hostage away only gave the enemy a reason to bomb this place.
“Let’s go!”
There was no choice; Brian couldn’t just stand there and take it. He quickly led the Six Demon Generals out, with Natsu following closely behind. Only Gerard remained, still trying to grasp the situation.
Once outside, Brian realized that the cave had been surrounded at some point. Newton was engaged in battle with Erza, while Laxus was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, a massive explosion and the roar of thunder erupted from the nearby forest.
“Hurry! These guys are part of the Six Demon Generals! If you take care of them, we’ll be fine. Cobra has the antidote for his poison on him!”
The members of Serpent Empress's Scale immediately shifted their focus. Aside from Erza, everyone began to swarm the Six Demon Generals, while Miraj and Sharlulu took off in pursuit of Laxus.
“Erza, Gerard has been revived!”
Newton shouted out a shocking revelation, causing Erza to freeze in place.
Without wasting another moment, Newton activated a smoke bomb and made his escape. As for the Six Demon Generals, he didn’t care what happened to them. Erza and Gerard? Newton had no intention of getting involved in their emotional turmoil—what a mess.
“Newton, where are we going now?”
Haru, fully aware of Newton's identity, felt no anxiety being captured.
“Of course, we’re going to check out Laxus and Mira’s battle. I can’t let you go back just yet; that would be too easy. I wouldn’t be able to explain myself later. Let Miraj assist with Wendy’s Dragon Slayer magic; combining their strengths should make it manageable to deal with one ugly guy and a musician.”
“Love, Newton, I’m craving fish.”
Haru expressed her hunger without any trace of tension now that they had escaped their pursuers.
"Well, there's a river right here. I'll go catch some fish for you."
Newton set Haru down and really went to the river to catch fish.
When he and the cat arrived at the place where Miraj and Laxus were fighting, they both held a grilled fish in their hands.
"Stupid cat! You?"
Sharlulu looked at this scene in disbelief, and Wendy was also somewhat surprised.
"Hmph, we're here fighting, and you're just enjoying yourself."
Miraj simply transformed back, and seeing that the fight had come to a halt, Laxus relaxed as well.
"Seriously, it was actually quite enjoyable."
"Here, here, this fish is for you."
Newton handed one of the grilled fish to Miraj.
"You guys? Who exactly are you?"
Sharlulu sensed that something was off. What was going on?
"Let me introduce myself. Fairy Tail, S Sorcerer Newton, spy identity, Circus, ugly."
Newton took off his mask, revealing a terrifyingly ugly makeup that shocked everyone. Miraj playfully punched Newton, who shrugged helplessly and then washed off the makeup with water.
"Alchemist Newton? Then who are you?"
Sharlulu felt she had stumbled upon something significant.
“Fairy Tail, S-Class Laxus, a spy, Circus musician.”
Laxus also removed his mask, which was not terrifying at all.
“You guys from Fairy Tail can’t all be part of the Dark Guild, right?”
“Well, if there’s a need, everyone will come to play a role. After all, it’s easiest to destroy the enemy from within,” Newton replied matter-of-factly.
“Crazy! Aren’t you worried about being discovered?”
Sharlulu could no longer tolerate it; these guild members were all insane!
“Of course we are, but if two S-Class mages can’t escape, then we’ll just accept our fate.”
Looking at the guy who seemed completely unconcerned about his life or death, was it confidence or arrogance? Sharlulu didn’t know, but one thing was certain: these people were all crazy.
