The newcomer appeared far more sophisticated than an ordinary Lackey. At the very least, his attire was not that of a mere passerby; he was wrapped in bandages.
"Well, Naked Bandage Man, you really are just a man wearing nothing but bandages. This must be what they call a pervert, right?"
Beside him, Laxus couldn't care less. After all, Newton was causing quite a ruckus, and the thunder in his hands crackled continuously, making it impossible for any Mage from the Dark Guild to withstand.
"I told you to stop! Did you not hear me?"
The bandages on Bare Bandage Man began to twist like snakes, shooting toward Newton with the precision of a Sharp Blade as he moved.
"Get out of the way!"
Laxus grabbed Newton by the collar and hurled him away.
"Whoa, what the—!"
Newton crashed into a wall.
"This guy is definitely retaliating. No doubt about it."
Rubbing his backside, Newton noticed that the others around Naked Bandage Man were approaching him, believing he must be weak since he had just been thrown out.
"What do you want? I'm actually quite formidable."
Newton's threat held no weight in their eyes; everyone laughed as they closed in on him.
"Boom!"
Newton emerged from the flames.
"I told you I’m strong!"
However, after the explosion, the house remained intact, only stirring up a bit of dust. The Naked Bandage Man and his companions were startled, but otherwise unharmed.
"Get this guy!"
Newton turned back slightly, feeling a bit awkward, and then took off running forward.
"Don't run!"
Behind Newton, fire and ice projectiles flew through the air, various spells dancing around him. Yet Newton moved as if he had eyes on the back of his head, dodging effortlessly with skillful maneuvers while occasionally tossing a fireball behind him.
"Are you all idiots? Surround him from the front and both sides!"
Laxus had already dealt with his opponent without anyone noticing. Controlling bandages was laughably weak in Laxus's eyes. No matter how much the Dark Guild boasted, Laxus's level was definitely on par with the Six Demons. Facing a guild leader under the Six Demons was nothing more than a casual slaughter.
"Hey, whose side are you on, musician?"
Newton shouted loudly.
"Me? While I enjoy listening to others' wails, your screams are my favorite," Laxus replied, wishing he could join the fray. Helping out? Not a chance.
"Seriously."
Newton grumbled and then crouched down slightly as a thin layer of ice appeared on the ground.
"Swoosh!"
This was just an onomatopoeia; imagine it as you will. Recently, there had been too many words embedded in comics, and it had become quite overwhelming.
Of course, only a portion of the people were thrown out. Those behind saw the ones in front sliding out and either stepped on them or came to a halt.
With this obstruction, Newton's speed naturally slowed down. However, with fewer people, the chaos lessened, and many began to surround Newton from all directions.
Newton performed a forward roll to dodge a wave of attacks, while one of his pursuers paused in confusion, as if something was underfoot.
"Smack!"
It was sticky and a disgusting dark green color, accompanied by a foul odor. This guy was completely thrown off.
"Ugh!"
It wasn't just those who stepped in it; everyone nearby recoiled as if avoiding a plague, carefully watching the ground to prevent themselves from getting caught as well. But who knew there would be something on the ground?
A fireball came crashing down, shattering to reveal some strange powder inside. After inhaling it, the person burst into laughter and collapsed onto the ground.
"Ah, is this how it is? Being ugly brings joy to everyone; just laugh more, laugh more."
This statement was not wrong, but when paired with the sight of someone lying on the ground laughing uncontrollably while wearing an expression of extreme pain, it became not just incorrect but terrifying and bizarre.
"Watch his methods!"
At that moment, Laxus seemed to take on the role of leader among the Naked Bandage Man's group.
"Attack this guy from a distance using magic! Try not to get close to him, and be wary of all his attacks. Be especially cautious of any strange things that suddenly appear on the ground!"
"Smack!"
A water ball was shattered by Laxus using lightning.
"Musician, if you keep this up, I'll tell everyone you were peeking at others while they bathed when you were three! Five years old..."
A bolt of lightning was hurled directly at him, but Newton easily dodged it, causing the lightning to strike down one of those pursuing him instead.
"If you want to die, I can help you with that."
"Tch, come and hit me then, idiot."
Newton's methods were already hard to defend against, and now with Laxus's lightning added into the mix, those chasing him were in even worse shape. Before long, the Naked Bandage Man was completely defeated. Yet, despite being pursued relentlessly, Newton showed no signs of sweat on his face. It was impossible to tell if he was sweating under that mask.
"What do you all want?!"
The Naked Bandage Man found himself under Laxus's foot. He was flexible like his bandages, and seeing his side completely wiped out made him lose his nerve. No matter how righteous villains might appear in front of heroes, they knew heroes rarely kill. However, when it came to other villains, the rules were different; often, it was easier for a villain to turn on another villain.
"Well, I plan to have you join my Circus. What do you think?"
Although Newton's words sounded different from before, Laxus understood that Newton's thoughts were not something an ordinary person could grasp. Usually, it was best just to follow what Newton said.
"…"
Though the Dark Guild had a sinister reputation, it was actually much stricter than a Regular Guild. After all, if anyone could join freely and rebel at will, there would be nothing left but spies. However, with the complete annihilation of the Naked Bandage Man's group, joining a more powerful Dark Guild didn't seem like such a bad idea.
"But my current superior is one of the Six Demon Generals."
The Bare Bandage Man still felt intimidated by the name of the Six Demon Generals.
"Yes, so what?"
Newton tilted his head in confusion and looked at the Bare Bandage Man with curiosity.
"Then? If you recruit us, we will definitely have to face the Six Demon Generals. At that point, even if we join you, it would just mean death for us."
The Bare Bandage Man certainly did not want to die.
"Well, then all we need to do is make the Six Demon Generals disappear."
Newton's words shocked the Bare Bandage Man, who looked at Newton in disbelief. Then he recalled what had happened with Fairy Tail.
"Alright, if you can really take down the Six Demon Generals, then I can convince others to join!"
"Then, let's have a pleasant cooperation."
Newton extended a hand toward the other as a gesture of goodwill, and then suddenly seemed to remember something.
"By the way, I still don't know your name."
"My name is Mu..."
Mu's name was surprisingly not that of a Lackey, but there was a hint of complexity on Newton's face.
"This world doesn't have anyone with the surname A, right?"
