After Newton's anger, the Alchemy in his hand never stopped, as if he had completely given up on Lucy's life, showing no concern for her at all. The handgun continuously formed in Newton's grasp, followed by a relentless barrage of shots. He kept switching weapons, occasionally conjuring swords, spears, and even bows and arrows, all of which he hurled at Joseph one after another. 0

"Ridiculous! Is this how you became an S-Class Mage? You Fairy Tail Mages are nothing but a bunch of filthy rats lurking in the shadows!" 0

Faced with Joseph's provocation, Newton showed no sign of anger; to him, Joseph was already a dead man. 0

"Charge!" 0

Thor, standing behind Joseph, blocked one of Newton's attacks, buying Joseph some time. Then Joseph summoned countless Ghost Soldiers. If Newton thought he could win through sheer numbers, Joseph would show him that he was not to be underestimated. 0

Aside from Zhubian, who was still holding Lucy and her father hostage, the remaining three members of the Four Elements charged at Newton. However, it was clear they were only putting in minimal effort. Among them, Bunny Maru looked particularly dejected. 0

"Mr. Newton, please go easy on us; we have no choice in this matter." 0

Bunny Maru pleaded with a sorrowful expression directed at Newton. Although they were bad, they were not evil. They had realized that Joseph had completely lost his mind; not everyone had the guts to descend into hell for power. Thus, they chose to submit to Newton. 0

"Don't worry; I'll go easy on you." 0

Of course, this meant that while Newton wouldn't kill them outright, he would definitely render them incapable of resistance. It was just like when he had single-handedly taught the Four Elements a lesson before—no, it would be even easier this time. The three members of the Four Elements had no intention of fighting Newton as fiercely as before; their attacks were weak due to the curse. Joseph's curse was indeed terrifying and could torment a person endlessly, but it only inflicted pain without causing death. The curse he cast was one of suffering; it wouldn't kill someone but would make them feel constant agony and could increase in intensity. Perhaps when it reached its peak level, it could indeed cause someone to die from pain, but killing someone outright was impossible. 0

Of course, Joseph wasn't foolish enough to reveal to the Four Elements that what he cast on them wasn't a deadly curse; doing so would imply they could escape. So he deceived them into believing it was a lethal curse accompanied by excruciating pain. Under such torment, they dared not take chances because people value their lives above all else. However, they also understood that once they reached the curse caster, such actively triggered curses would likely be lifted. Therefore, they were almost letting Newton off easy within their capabilities. 0

Joseph was well aware of this but didn't worry about it. To him, Newton was merely a trickster playing monkey tricks—no, Newton was the monkey himself while he was the one holding the whip. If the monkey misbehaved? A good whipping would set things right. Thus, Joseph didn't care what his subordinates thought; to him, they were just cannon fodder—nothing more. 0

Joseph specifically chose to strike from the places Newton couldn't see, launching attacks from the dark corners. As a result, Newton endured numerous hits, leaving him in a state of utter disarray. 0

What frustrated Newton the most was that this time, it seemed that the Four Elements were completely unfazed. This wasn't due to an increase in their resilience; rather, it was because of the curse's presence. The intense pain could instantly make someone feel fortunate to still be standing. Consequently, whenever Newton managed to pin one of the Four Elements to the ground or knock them out cold, Joseph's curse would always bring them back to their feet again, which was incredibly annoying. 0

"To catch a thief, first catch their leader; it seems that's always the right choice," Newton realized. He understood that this battle was primarily between himself and Joseph. The Ghost Soldiers and the Four Elements were merely pawns in this game. The key to resolving this conflict lay in whether he could defeat Joseph. 0

However, considering that Joseph was a Holy Ten, overcoming him would not be an easy task. 0

"It looks like I'll have to endure some pain," Newton thought to himself before swiftly breaking the limbs of the third member of the Four Elements. The three fell to the ground immediately. If Zhubian had come over, it might have required more effort from Newton since Zhubian could transform into rain, making it difficult to break their limbs. But finding a box should suffice to contain them. 0

Yet, as Newton broke the limbs of the third member of the Four Elements, his movements became somewhat exaggerated. Consequently, he lost his balance, and the Ghost Soldiers seized this opportunity, lunging at his feet and grabbing hold of them, causing Newton to stumble. 0

"Haha, you're still too naive!" Joseph laughed triumphantly. Although it was just a fleeting moment, it was enough for him to land a fatal blow on Newton. 0

"Don't worry, my child; I won't kill you. On the contrary, I intend to nurture you well. You are my fortune-bringer! With your alchemical tools and your wealth, I can rebuild my Guild! Then I'll use your money to crush Fairy Tail and show you what happens when you oppose me!" 0

Joseph's attack struck Newton with explosive force, causing a violent explosion that showed no mercy to the nearby members of the Four Elements. 0

After the explosion, Newton lay unconscious alongside the other three members of the Four Elements. Joseph approached Newton, laughing heartily, his eyes gleaming with excitement as if he were a creepy uncle spotting an unsuspecting little girl. 0

Suddenly, Newton sat up and aimed a gun at Joseph. Unfortunately, Joseph easily dodged the shot, and then used magic to lift Newton into the air. 0

"Did you think I wouldn't be on guard? I've suffered greatly because of you before; I won't make the same mistake twice!" 0

Joseph's face twisted in a menacing expression, as if he were about to devour Newton whole. 0

"Sure, sure, sure." 0

But Newton wore a teasing smile. 0

"However, I'm not trying to hurt you." 0

As soon as he finished speaking, a blast of ice froze Zhubian in place. At the same time, a flash of cold light severed the ropes binding Lucy and her father. A furious voice echoed through the air. 0

"Joseph!" 0
