Deliora had ultimately met its end, much like Newton's conjecture; it had long been dead. Even if Leo managed to use Moon Drop to release it, it was still meaningless.
Gray, on the other hand, had taken several hits because he was constantly interrupted by Natsu, leaving his face bruised and battered.
Upon returning to the village, nothing had changed. The villagers still bore the appearance of demons, and the moon in the sky remained purple.
"Why..."
Natsu was puzzled.
"This should have been over, right? Why are the villagers still like this? Why hasn't anything returned to normal?"
"Hmph, this isn't our fault at all."
Leo seemed to have a hint of pride.
"We've been on this island for three years, yet we haven't been affected in the slightest."
"Huh? Could it be that it's not because of this purple moon?"
Lucy looked confused, and everyone turned their gaze toward Newton.
"You guys really need to sharpen your observation skills."
Newton yawned. He had initially intended to find the person who had given him the note, but it seemed he would first need to help these folks resolve the issues in this place.
"Alchemy!"
A sci-fi styled gun appeared in Newton's hands, nearly five meters long, with a barrel measuring three meters. The body of the gun was composed of countless mechanical parts.
"Vroom!"
The gun began to glow, and all of Newton's magical energy started to flow into it. With a silent shot, a brilliant blue light sliced through the air, striking the sky and causing an explosion. At that moment, the air shattered like glass, breaking into countless fragments.
"Crack, crack."
Newton casually disassembled the massive gun, watching as the silver glow reappeared in the sky.
"This is the true nature of this island."
His words left Natsu, Gray, and the others stunned. At that moment, they noticed that the Ferry Man who had brought them to the island had reappeared.
"Alright, problem solved. I have some matters to attend to."
Without waiting for Natsu and the others to ask questions, Newton vanished. Outside the village, in the forest, a figure had been waiting there all along.
"Hello, Mr. Newton."
The hunched figure spoke with a clear and pleasant voice.
"Who exactly are you?"
Newton pulled out a cigarette.
"Do you mind?"
"Not at all."
As the magical effect dissipated, it revealed a woman with an attractive figure. Her long, jet-black hair gave her an air of elegance, but her autumn-like eyes seemed to hide some unspoken thoughts.
"Ah... so, who are you?"
Newton looked at her, realizing that someone capable of mastering lost magic was certainly not an ordinary person.
"I'm Ultia, a subordinate of Zigrein from the Magic Council."
Ultia's polite demeanor caught Newton's attention. After spending so much time around the raucous members of Fairy Tail, encountering such a gentle and courteous woman was quite refreshing.
"Zigrein's secretary?"
Newton's question momentarily surprised Ultia, but she soon nodded.
"Yes, that's about right. I usually assist Lord Zigrein with handling documents and such. This time, I was sent here because I sensed that something unusual might be happening."
Newton frowned slightly; it was frustrating when no one picked up on his sarcasm. After all, it was quite common for secretaries to be busy with important matters while their superiors were off doing something else.
"But Ultia... Ultia... Uru... Tia..."
Newton kept repeating her name until he noticed her brow furrowing slightly.
"Well, your name Gray really resembles that of his master. But then again, this kind of thing doesn't really concern me."
Household matters are the most troublesome; they can't be resolved with just a few words. Just look at Gray—he's been in Fairy Tail for so long, yet when faced with this childhood shadow, he still acts like this, rushing in to solve things with his life. Sigh, what a fool.
Newton shook his head. He wasn't particularly skilled in psychological matters. What intrigued him more was the one referred to as the youngest Saint Ten Chigreyin.
"Since you are a subordinate of Zigrein, you must know him quite well. What kind of person is he?"
"Is there something you need?"
Ultia looked at Newton. She was curious about him as well; both Zigrein and she were quite interested in Newton. After all, Newton rarely took on missions but was an S-Class mage of Fairy Tail. Although he had held back during this battle, the confrontation underground in the ruins made Ultia feel that he wasn't particularly strong; rather, it was his terrifying methods that stood out. Her time magic could destroy matter, yet he could immediately revert it back to its original state or transform it into something else.
Ultia's Arc of Time could influence the time of matter, but it had no effect on the elemental composition of that matter. Even if it did have some influence, Newton could casually draw upon various elements from the ground beneath him, making her abilities seem somewhat ineffective against him.
Moreover, Ultia had witnessed Newton effortlessly dispel the barrier on the island with a single blast. Faced with that attack, she felt she couldn't withstand it. Although she could dodge, she was uncertain if he had other weapons up his sleeve. The greatest strength of Alchemy wasn't direct combat ability but rather the endless array of insightful techniques and enhancements to oneself, which was truly troublesome.
"Nothing much; I just want you to speak well of us at the Magic Council. What do you think?"
Despite their formidable strength, Fairy Tail didn't care much for official matters. However, it's best to minimize such bureaucratic issues; too many would be too troublesome.
"Hmm?"
Ultia pondered for a moment. If she could gain Newton's financial support, it would be quite beneficial for her and her faction. Although this world values strength above all else, the saying "money makes the world go round" is not without merit. Moreover, if she could acquire some technology from Newton, that would be even better.
"I can discuss this with Mr. Zigrein when I return. If you have any plans, how about we talk in detail when we meet?"
Ultia organized her words.
"Then thank you for connecting me with Mr. Zigrein."
Newton nodded in agreement.
"So, will Sister Uruutia be joining us, or...?"
"No, I have my own Vehicle. After all, this is a creation from Mr. Newton's shop; it's just that the latest model is a bit too expensive."
Ultia smiled at Newton.
"Well, next time I have the chance, I'll give you one."
After all, a Vehicle isn't worth much; giving one away is no big deal.
"Then I will await your esteemed presence."
"I hope we can have a pleasant exchange."
