**Chapter Nine: The Dark Marketplace**
The Azure Sky Ancestor tore off his shorts, not because he had a penchant for exposure or enjoyed running around naked, but because he liked to transform his prized artifact, the Azure Dragon Sea-Quelling Banner, into shorts for easy carrying. Now that the facade was torn, he had to reveal his treasured possession in preparation.
Zhou Qingzhe and Zhang Rongying had long planned to suppress all rebellious forces on Earth before Yuan Qian Kun's return, aiming to form alliances with any intermediate forces they could divide and absorb. By the time Yuan Qian Kun returned, he would be left isolated and unable to stir up any trouble.
Although they both feared the various research achievements of the Azure Sky Ancestor, they had made ample preparations since they had no choice but to act. Zhou Qingzhe raised his hand and unleashed a long spear adorned with azure dragon patterns that radiated waves of magical energy. The more skilled one was, the larger the Psycho Gun they wielded. While Zhou Qingzhe's Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon was not as powerful as Arlen Xuding Si's Destruction Cannon, it was still a notorious weapon in the Dark World.
As Zhou Qingzhe unleashed six consecutive strikes, countless shadows coalesced around Zhang Rongying, forming a powerful whirlwind that gathered momentum around his fist, ready to strike.
Six thick beams of Azure Light locked onto the spiritual fluctuations of the Azure Sky Ancestor in a hexagram formation. Duskaya felt a jolt of alarm and was about to muster her strength to resist when a hand gently pulled her aside. By the time she opened her eyes again, she found herself suspended dozens of kilometers away in mid-air.
Duskaya looked down and saw that the beach below was engulfed in green light from the Azure Light and black mist from Golden Radiance, all swirling together chaotically.
Although the Arctic Ice Bear ranked high within the International Demon Alliance and possessed considerable strength, witnessing such a level of combat still left her stunned.
Liexiezi's eyes lit up when Zhou Qingzhe revealed the Millennium Purple Longevity. When Zhou Qingzhe produced the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon, it stirred something within him. He lacked magical artifacts and was easily tempted by others' treasures.
The Millennium Purple Longevity could compensate for his lack of a physical body and enhance his cultivation. Although the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon did not match his Liexie Twin Hooks or Four Treasures of the Demon Gate, it was still an impressive weapon, especially with its overwhelming firepower that he had never seen before.
"It would be a shame to miss such an opportunity. After all, they are my brother's enemies; I need not hold back."
With this resolve in mind, Liexiezi took advantage of the moment when the Azure Sky Ancestor unleashed the Azure Dragon Sea-Quelling Banner. His entire body disintegrated into countless emerald feathers that immediately spread out.
Zhou Qingzhe did not pay attention to Liexiezi's presence; however, Zhang Rongying noticed this silent yet imposing figure. He did not expect that Liexiezi's strength surpassed that of the Azure Sky Ancestor; he merely thought him to be a rising star aligned with the Azure Sky Ancestor. It wasn't until Liexiezi performed his grand illusion that he sensed something was amiss—but it was already too late.
The overwhelming emerald feathers carried an incredibly sinister energy. As Zhou Qingzhe launched his full attack, his protective aura weakened due to lack of preparation, allowing countless feathers to pierce through his protective demon power and stab into his body. Zhang Rongying reacted quickly; although he couldn't save Zhou Qingzhe in time, he explosively released the gathered demon power, forcing back Liexiezi's emerald feathers and propelling himself into mid-air.
Though Zhou Qingzhe had been ambushed by Liexiezi, he was ultimately a renowned ancient demon. In this moment of crisis, his Yuan Shen sank deep within him as he activated the primordial essence power he hadn't used for hundreds of years, expelling Liexiezi's demonic energy from his body.
Liexiezi did not intend to harm him; their demonic energies clashed briefly within Zhou Qingzhe before Liexiezi withdrew immediately. Although he only controlled Zhou Qingzhe's body for a moment, he had already grasped all of Zhou Qingzhe's possessions and stealthily pocketed them as well.
Suddenly losing all his treasures, Zhou Qingzhe was both shocked and angry. Although he immediately opened a demon power shield, it was too late to stop Liexiezi from succeeding.
All the emerald green feathers gathered together, forming Liexiezi's true form. Liexiezi was an old master who had cultivated for a thousand years, and he could master the abilities of magical artifacts in an instant. After he reappeared, he pointed the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon at Zhang Rongying, unleashing a massive Azure Light that roared toward Zhang Rongying, who was still in mid-air.
Having learned from Zhou Qingzhe's experience, Zhang Rongying did not dare to be careless. He quickly opened his shield and retaliated with his Black Light Cannon.
The Black Light Cannon and the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon were both among the top ten Psycho Guns in the Dark World. Their power was comparable, each with its own strengths. Although Liexiezi was powerful, he was not necessarily more profound than Zhang Rongying, who had ten thousand years of cultivation. In this direct confrontation, Zhang Rongying was blasted back nearly half a kilometer into the air. Liexiezi's form slightly dispersed before re-coalescing.
Zhou Qingzhe's expression changed as he finally realized that Azure Sky Ancestor did not fear him and Zhang Rongying because of this seemingly unremarkable young man. It seemed that Liexiezi's strength was not inferior to either him or Zhang Rongying.
Without absolute certainty, if the battle continued until the end, it would either result in mutual destruction or a pyrrhic victory for one side. Zhou Qingzhe certainly did not want either outcome. He hurriedly used his demon power to withdraw from the battlefield. At this moment, Azure Sky Ancestor merely protected himself with the Azure Dragon Sea-Quelling Banner and did not pursue. Liexiezi also showed no intention of continuing the fight, allowing Zhou Qingzhe to leave safely.
Zhou Qingzhe leaped into the air and silently gestured with his hand, and once again donned a set of battle gear. As the Executive Chairman of the International Demon Alliance, he could acquire any treasure that could be bought with money in this world. This time he had only brought seven protective magical artifacts with him, including the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon and some finely crafted items like the Spirit Armor and Ice Peak World. Unlike Liexiezi and Azure Sky Ancestor, who came from a background of cultivation, every artifact Zhou Qingzhe possessed was new, expensive, and top-notch. Almost every year and a half, he would replace his entire set of equipment; none of his artifacts had been with him for a millennium.
Thus, losing a few magical artifacts did not trouble Zhou Qingzhe much; he only felt somewhat embarrassed.
After changing into a relatively older set of gear, Zhou Qingzhe felt somewhat reassured and calmed his emotions before speaking: "Azure Wind! Since you are unwilling to join us this time, I won't force you. However, I will not give up on my plan to eliminate Yuan Qian Kun's influence. The next time we meet could very well involve Eight Gods, Extreme Human—don't say I didn't warn you!"
In response, Liexiezi fired another shot from the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon!
In his heyday, Liexiezi had never looked down on anyone; even Kyo Kusanagi could be considered his junior. How could Zhou Qingzhe expect to threaten him with such people?
However, Azure Sky Ancestor's expression darkened as he cast a deep glance at Zhou Qingzhe and Zhang Rongying's departing figures. He had already made up his mind: "Next time if I let the ancestor prepare properly, I will definitely take your two lives first."
Liexiezi watched the curling azure smoke rising from the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon and said to Azure Sky Ancestor: "After a thousand years, the techniques for refining artifacts in this world have really advanced quickly. Although this thing has a simple function, it is incredibly convenient to use—much more so than any Taiyi Divine Thunder or Five Elements Divine Thunder. Moreover, it can be directed for firing and has strong penetration!"
Azure Sky Ancestor observed as Liexiezi casually put away the Azure Dragon True Spirit Cannon and replied: "This world is no longer what it used to be; while such things cannot yet be mass-produced, they can already be ordered. If Twelfth Disciple is interested, I can help introduce you to sellers."
Liexiezi exclaimed in surprise: "Fourth Senior Brother can actually acquire such items through means? Can worldly money really buy cultivation artifacts?"
Azure Sky Ancestor smiled lightly and said: "There will soon be an auction where not only modern styles of magical artifacts can be purchased but also some ancient lost treasures will be available for sale. Now is no longer an era where Flying Swords are scarce."
Liexiezi fell silent for a moment before slowly saying, "If possible, I would still like to find my Liexie Twin Hooks and my Four Treasures of the Demon Gate first."
The Azure Sky Ancestor smiled lightly and replied, "If the Twelfth Disciple is willing, you can also return to Kunlun to see if there is a chance for the sect's celestial weapons to recognize you as their master. Don't you know? The owner of the Golden Light Phosphor Demon Sword Formation is no longer here. Apart from your sword and that of Brother Voidbreaker, the other nine swords are waiting for new masters."
With a long howl, Liexiezi sent ripples through the surrounding waves.
Gradually, Liexiezi let out a long sigh.
The British Isles are perhaps the most traditional and historically rich region in Europe. You could even see classical gentlemen with canes on the streets of London from the medieval era. Fang Lin Kong and Lin Yu were currently in a famous old tavern, drinking with a young couple they had met during their travels, chatting about all sorts of random topics.
Fang Lin Kong and Lin Yu knew that each of them possessed some extraordinary abilities and had rich experiences and broad knowledge, but they also knew each other's names.
Feio and Diao Li were a very peculiar couple.
Fang Lin Kong was not an experienced veteran and did not suspect their identities. When Feio and Diao Li appeared before them, they had already concealed their spiritual energy fluctuations and true appearances. In fact, even if they had not changed their looks, Fang Lin Kong would not have recognized the two examiners he had never met before.
Although Feio spoke somewhat flamboyantly, he was humorous and quite entertaining. He hit it off well with Fang Lin Kong. Since Fang Lin Kong and Lin Yu were not familiar with European geography, having these two guides made things much easier.
Feio had an average tolerance for alcohol, so he ordered a low-alcohol sweet wine. As he skillfully cut into a roast, he said to Fang Lin Kong, "We came to London to attend this auction. I have my eye on an antique from the court tribute of the Darsin King era, six thousand years ago. I want to bid on it as a gift for my wife to commemorate our wedding anniversary."
Fang Lin Kong understood that Feio was not talking about an ordinary auction but rather the Grand Auction organized by the International Demon Alliance held annually. Although there had been many incidents involving the International Demon Alliance this year, Zhou Qingzhe and Zhang Rongying did not intervene in this auction to stabilize internal unrest. The Grand Auction proceeded as scheduled, with even more attendees than last year.
As one of the largest events in the Dark World, hundreds of thousands of people left their cities at this time each year to seek out potential treasures. The sheer number of auction items, their diverse varieties, and mysterious origins far surpassed any other auction. Aside from the latest research findings, most people came here in search of lost ancient artifacts. The organizers of the International Demon Alliance initially aimed to make the Grand Auction a grand event in the Dark World by adopting a unique business model: free entry while profiting from services.
Anyone could bring their items to sell at the Grand Auction House without any restrictions on trading; however, if one wanted promotional services or security assistance from the event staff, payment was required. This model attracted numerous small clients and various tourists while larger companies paid hefty fees for perfect returns. Thus, the prosperity of the Grand Auction grew year after year.
Fang Lin Kong congratulated Feio, saying, "I wish you both happiness and hope you can acquire the auction items you desire. However, it's unfortunate that we don't have much money to participate in the Grand Auction."
Feio replied with a smile, "You could also bring some items to auction! Even if you don't buy or sell anything, just going to broaden your horizons is a good choice. However, conflicts often arise at the Grand Auction every year; if you plan to go, it's best to disguise yourself first. That way, even if something unpleasant happens, you won't have to worry about others finding you afterward. There are always many anonymous buyers and sellers at this Grand Auction now; hiding one's identity has become quite fashionable!"
Fang Lin Kong pondered for a moment before turning to Lin Yu and asking, "What do you think?"
Lin Yu was very interested and immediately replied, "Of course we have to participate. Brother Feio, let's disguise ourselves and see if we can each figure out the other's identity!"
Feio smiled lightly, grasping Diao Li's outstretched hand, and readily agreed, "Sure! This can be one of our side events. Once we get to the Grand Auction House, let’s see who can find the other first. The loser will treat the winner to drinks here!"
Lin Yu and Fang Lin Kong eagerly agreed, excited to prepare for the event right away.
Seeing that Lin Yu and Fang Lin Kong were already impatient, Feio could only smile and wave goodbye to them. Fang Lin Kong took Lin Yu back to their hotel, where Lin Yu asked, "What do you plan to disguise yourself as for the Grand Auction?"
Fang Lin Kong chuckled and pulled out a Pocket Grimoire, flipping through it casually until he extracted two cards.
"Transforming Mask! Lin Yu, I'll give you one. Just put it on, and you'll instantly take on a strange appearance."
Lin Yu took the two cards and gave them a shake, producing two soft leather masks. She put one on, and her body immediately grew three times larger—tall and thin with a gaunt face. The Spiritual Wave around her became long and slow, flowing endlessly. All her spiritual energy transformed into wood-elemental demonic power.
"Haha! Fang Lin Kong! This one turns me into a Wood Spirit. Let me see the other one!"
Lin Yu removed the mask and instantly reverted to her youthful appearance. When she donned the other Transforming Mask, a pale yet strikingly handsome young man's face appeared, transforming her slender figure into that of a robust man.
"This strange energy feels somewhat lifeless but carries a strong magical essence. It's not a monster; it's... it's a vampire!"
Fang Lin Kong pondered for a moment before exclaiming loudly. Lin Yu struck several poses that matched her current appearance, looking stunning enough to captivate any crowd. If she encountered any teenage girls outside, she would surely mesmerize them with just one glance.
Lin Yu was thrilled and said, "I love this magical face! Fang Lin Kong, you have to give it to me!"
Fang Lin Kong shrugged and picked up the other mask, saying, "Then I'll go as a Wood Spirit!"
The Grand Auction would last for twenty-one days. By the time Fang Lin Kong and Feio arrived in England, it had already been three days since it began. Moreover, the Grand Auction operated twenty-four hours a day without any restrictions on day or night. Since Lin Yu was eager to see the excitement, Fang Lin Kong certainly wouldn’t stop her from having fun.
Once Fang Lin Kong transformed into a Wood Spirit, he stood over two and a half meters tall. He then summoned a truck resembling Optimus Prime. With everything prepared, they set off. Fang Lin Kong felt an extra sense of calculation in his heart.
"If we're going to participate in this Grand Auction and hide our identities, we might as well go all out and make sure no one recognizes us."
He pulled Lin Yu aside and whispered, "The Grand Auction is organized by the International Demon Alliance, and we are both humans. If we get recognized, it won't be good for us. Just follow my lead and don't act impulsively. Besides, I have some conflicts with the International Demon Alliance, so it's even more important to keep our identities hidden. If you see any incidents of bullying the weak, don't step in to help."
Although Lin Yu's expression darkened at his words, she nodded in agreement with Fang Lin Kong. This spirited girl had a natural sense of justice that made it difficult for her to stand by and watch injustice unfold.
Fang Lin Kong didn't dare to release the Mechanical Demon Soldier near the hotel. With a wave of the Five Elements Escape Spirit Flag, she and Lin Yu instantly vanished from sight, reappearing in an open space near the Grand Auction venue. Recently, Fang Lin Kong's magical powers had improved, allowing her to gradually utilize the relics left behind by Voidbreaker. The Five Elements Escape Spirit Flag was exceptional, and it was her favorite tool for traveling quickly.
The Grand Auction House was located underground in a Millennium Church on the outskirts of London. Despite having endured numerous wars, including bombings during World War I and II, it remained unscathed. After several renovations, it had transformed into an underground trading hall the size of four football fields. Besides hosting the Grand Auction, it remained open for business at other times, serving as Europe's largest wholesale market for Psycho Weapons and special goods.
As Fang Lin Kong drove the Heavy Truck into the Grand Auction House, two burly staff members approached them politely and instructed them to park their vehicle accordingly. The Heavy Truck that Fang Lin Kong and Lin Yu were driving was so large that it occupied about ten regular parking spaces, drawing attention from onlookers. Although everyone here was not exactly ordinary, such ostentatiousness was indeed rare.
Once Lin Yu and Fang Lin Kong got out of the truck, two or three young boys and girls selling drugs immediately surrounded them. Lin Yu had never encountered such a situation before and was unsure how to deal with these clever-looking street urchins who appeared to be around thirteen or fourteen years old. However, Fang Lin Kong was quick to react; she grabbed a filthy little hand reaching toward Lin Yu and swiftly sealed off his pressure points.
"How infuriating! They are just a bunch of thieves! And they are selling drugs too. I want to take them to the police station."
Lin Yu noticed the misdeeds of these young boys and girls and was about to take action in anger when one of them let out a strange cry and transformed into a cloud of black smoke. In the blink of an eye, he took his incapacitated companion with him and vanished without a trace. The remaining girl showed no fear; she spat on the ground while cursing loudly with language inappropriate for her age before swaggering away. This left Lin Yu dumbfounded as she finally witnessed the local customs.
Fang Lin Kong laughed heartily and comforted Lin Yu, "You might as well forget it; these little demons wouldn't be held accountable by ordinary police even if you managed to report them. Are you going to help enforce the law? Human laws may not apply to them."
Lin Yu made a gesture of helplessness and followed Fang Lin Kong out of the parking lot.
The Grand Auction House had twenty-eight entrances capable of accommodating up to one hundred thousand people at once. The underground space was incredibly vast, devoid of any cramped or dark atmosphere typical of subterranean buildings. Each section of the Grand Auction House was as magnificent as some of the largest sports arenas in the world. As soon as Fang Lin Kong and Lin Yu entered, they were awestruck by the opulent scene.
The Grand Auction House was divided into four main auction areas controlled by several super enterprises from the Dark World. The most prominent among them was the booth of Germany's Krupp, the only modern exorcism weapon manufacturing company in existence. It occupied a significant area within all four major auction halls. Additionally, there were eighteen smaller auction venues available for scattered clients; although they were much more chaotic, they were also livelier.
After wandering through just a small portion of one of the smaller auction areas, Fang Lin Kong felt her legs growing tired and sweaty. Realizing that continuing on foot wasn't practical, she pointed her finger casually, causing four azure lotuses to rise from the ground. She stepped onto one lotus flower, which gently lifted her off the ground by two or three centimeters. Curious, Lin Yu followed suit; as she stepped onto a lotus flower and lightly urged it forward and backward, she found movement effortless. Moreover, she could fly quickly with just a thought instead of exerting herself like walking.
Lin Yu turned to Fang Lin Kong and asked, "What spell is this? I feel like I've heard elders mention something similar back in Kunlun."
Fang Lin Kong chuckled and replied, "This little spell is part of Kunlun's artifact refinement techniques designed specifically for short-distance travel. Since you specialize in Celestial Martial Arts, it's natural that you're unfamiliar with it. Would you like me to teach you?"
Lin Yu clapped her hands excitedly and said, "I want to learn! I want to learn! The reason I chose to practice Celestial Martial Arts is that my mentor believed it had more potential for me. But I'm actually very interested in artifact refinement too!"
Fang Lin Kong stepped lightly into the air, supported by the Azure Lotus beneath his feet, his tall and slender figure radiating an aura of Azure Energy. He resembled a spirit formed from a thousand-year-old celestial tree. In contrast, Lin Yu, despite his handsome and dashing appearance, spoke in a feminine tone that carried a hint of petulance, making him seem like a rebellious youth from a vampire clan with questionable inclinations.
As the two chatted, they strolled along cheerfully. Fang Lin Kong taught Lin Yu the spell to refine floating lotus flowers, and Lin Yu quickly grasped the technique. Eager to try it out, he realized that Fang Lin Kong had only ready-made magical items and no raw materials for refining. Pouting for a moment, Lin Yu soon made a new discovery.
"Fang Lin Kong! Look over there, there's someone selling flowers! Let's go buy one!"
Without waiting for Fang Lin Kong's response, Lin Yu dashed over. The flower-selling girl had bright, lively eyes that widened in surprise upon seeing Lin Yu rush toward her, but her expression quickly shifted to one of cunning. In her excitement, Lin Yu failed to notice the change in the girl's demeanor.
Fang Lin Kong did not follow Lin Yu; instead, he casually glanced over and immediately recognized the girl’s identity. Although she had changed her outfit and washed off the messy makeup from earlier—perhaps even altered her face slightly—Fang Lin Kong's keen perception allowed him to identify her as one of the youths who had attempted to sell them drugs and was now plotting to steal something.
The girl who had previously appeared as a delinquent now looked like a well-behaved Cinderella from a fairy tale. Fang Lin Kong thought to himself, "No wonder Lin Yu couldn't see through her; if it weren't for my formidable powers, I might have been deceived too."
It was understandable why Fang Lin Kong viewed people this way; he instinctively did not regard this girl as a legitimate seller. Thus, he discreetly prepared a binding spell in his hand, ready to cast it at the first sign of trouble to prevent her from escaping.
Lin Yu was not particularly fond of flowers; he simply wanted to refine a floating lotus flower spell. He focused on finding suitable large blossoms. The flower-selling girl's stall was set up on a Magic Carpet that floated around while displaying its goods.
After some selection, Lin Yu chose a vibrant red flower with four or five blooming petals that seemed perfect for refining. Just as he began haggling with the girl, a loud shout interrupted them as several disheveled young men rushed over.
"Evelyn! I told you to pay up quickly, or you'll end up working at the nightclub! Today, where do you think you can hide?"
Upon hearing their shouts, the flower-selling girl turned pale and hurriedly urged her Magic Carpet to speed up. Lin Yu happened to be on the Magic Carpet as well and was involuntarily swept away with her. The disheveled youths seemed unable to fly or possess any flying tools; they simply sprinted after them.
Fang Lin Kong gently urged his Azure Lotus forward and followed suit, curious but refraining from intervening just yet.
Although the underground auction venue was spacious, it still had its limits and could not ascend indefinitely. Therefore, Evelyn could only rely on speed to shake off her pursuers. Internally cursing them for interrupting her business, she thought angrily, "You bunch of bastards! You’ll pay for this disruption; just wait and see how I deal with you!"
Her eyes darted around as she plotted her escape while the Magic Carpet weaved through stalls and crowds of shoppers. Fortunately, most people were on the ground level; thus, the air above felt relatively sparse. Despite the thrilling nature of their flight on the Magic Carpet, no real accidents occurred.
Those attending the Grand Auction were accustomed to such scenes; even if they weren't regular customers, they had seen enough promotional materials to know what was happening. Only a few curious onlookers pulled out their cameras to capture the unfolding drama.
Fang Lin Kong moved gracefully through the air with ease. To others watching him, his speed appeared unhurried and elegant. However fast Evelyn and her pursuers were running ahead of him, they could never quite shake off Fang Lin Kong. Meanwhile, he had time to glance around at the goods being sold as he followed closely behind.
Evelyn had initially wanted to shake off the group pursuing her, but when she saw Lin Yu's calm demeanor, an idea struck her. With a quivering voice, she said to Lin Yu, "Please leave quickly. These people are after me and have nothing to do with you. They are ruthless, and if they see you with me, they might misunderstand!"
Lin Yu was just about to step onto the Floating Azure Lotus and fly away on the Magic Carpet. However, she wasn't skilled in flying spells and was a bit cautious about it. She had been warned by Fang Lin Kong not to get involved in this matter. But seeing Evelyn's tearful and pitiful appearance immediately stirred Lin Yu's sympathy. She comforted Evelyn, saying, "Don't be afraid, little sister. These villains dare to chase an innocent girl in public, completely disregarding the law. As a messenger of justice, I will surely eradicate these scoundrels."
For some reason, Lin Yu recalled a scene from a third-rate comic. Remembering that she needed to conceal her identity, she casually uttered this rather unremarkable declaration. Then, with light steps, her well-tailored tailcoat billowing like a dragon, she leaped off the Magic Carpet and confronted the few fierce young men trailing behind.
Seeing Lin Yu take action, one pale-faced boy shouted loudly, "I am Kanim of the Blood Clan! Which family are you from? Don't interfere with our business!"
Just as Lin Yu was about to respond and lend a hand against injustice, Fang Lin Kong caught up with them. His movements were graceful as lightning; he knocked out each of the attackers from behind with swift punches. The poor gang of young ruffians didn't even have time to turn around and see who had ambushed them before they were all taken down.
After dealing with these rascals, Fang Lin Kong waved at Lin Yu, and they regrouped. Lin Yu complained, "In your current state, even if you take action, it will be hard for you to win a girl's heart. Why didn't you let me shine? That girl named Evelyn is quite lovely; she seems to be mixed race with delicate skin and long legs—exactly my type."
Fang Lin Kong smiled wryly and replied, "Miss Lin Yu, I've never heard of you having such inclinations. How could I know to create opportunities for you in time?"
Lin Yu's eyes widened in excitement as she said, "Of course I still hope to find a reliable boy as my boyfriend. But this is such a rare opportunity! I haven't had the chance to date a beautiful girl yet. This might be my only chance for a little adventure in this lifetime."
Fang Lin Kong frowned slightly; having spent so much time with Lin Yu, he knew how playful she was. He suspected that her interest in the Blood Clan's Transforming Mask was already hinting at her intentions. However, he didn't argue with her but simply pointed out, "You still have a chance; that girl is coming back. In this world, there are plenty of stories where supporting characters save the damsel in distress while the protagonist wins her heart. You needn't worry."
Lin Yu made an adorable expression of understanding and turned around to see that Evelyn was hurriedly urging the Magic Carpet while tidying up the flowers scattered on it. Although no pots had fallen off during her hasty escape due to the magic holding them in place, the airflow had certainly disordered many of them.
Evelyn looked at Lin Yu with flushed cheeks and quietly expressed her gratitude. Fang Lin Kong covered his mouth and chuckled softly; he could already see the deceptive tears in Evelyn's eyes and noticed how straight Lin Yu stood—if these two could come together, it would undoubtedly make for an exciting story. So he said nothing but followed behind Lin Yu, brainstorming ways to encourage their budding connection.
