As the fifth day arrived, the clouds in the sky began to swirl. The mountains, rivers, grass, and soil within Ahn'Qiraj slowly transformed into fragments that floated upwards, creating what appeared to be countless dashed lines connecting heaven and earth.
Dead Man's Gorge was dissipating.
The abandoned armor and cold corpses became part of Ahn'Qiraj, also turning into drifting specks. They would wander in the void for a long time, only to return here when Ahn'Qiraj descended again.
Perhaps sensing the imminent disappearance of Ahn'Qiraj, those still searching—the Harbingers—chose to retreat.
Throughout his journey, Garen encountered no one. The land lay scarred and battered as he traversed this desolate wilderness alone, without meeting any familiar faces.
This feeling was destined to be one of solitude, as if the entire world were collapsing while he continued forward alone.
Perhaps this was what it would look like when the Cataclysm arrived.
Garen found his path blocked by a stream. The murky water erupted into tiny splashes that rose and danced in the air, revealing numerous gaps on the surface… Although Garen's current strength would prevent him from being swept away by Void Power, he could still be repelled. If that happened, re-entering would be quite difficult.
After a moment of silence, Garen decided to find another route. Just as he turned around, he was inexplicably stunned.
Behind him lay a desolate and fragmented wilderness—no one was there, no sound could be heard, not even the wind. This sight filled Garen with an indescribable sense of loneliness… He felt as if he were looking at his former self or perhaps the self he had been over these five days; outwardly normal but filled with solitude.
Suddenly, he understood why Sharg and the others felt something was off about him.
Garen silently took a step forward, whispering to himself: "Loneliness."
The Lost Land was gradually fading away; the heavy clouds thinned out, and light began to pour down in many places—beams of light formed slanted columns with fragments dancing within them.
By the sixth day, Ahn'Qiraj's dissipation accelerated significantly. Many paths had become impassable; shattered landscapes lay everywhere, with large sections of land mysteriously missing…
Thus, Garen found his choices limited. He gazed at the distant mountain peak that had silently vanished, taking a few steps in silence before stopping again.
Yes, he had encountered a familiar person once more.
In the Godeyas Continent, Garen did not have many acquaintances, but there were enough. Most of them were familiar in terms of personality, appearance, and friendship; however, there was only one who truly resonated with him on a deeper level.
Su Ye's indifferent gaze revealed a hint of mockery. "How much longer do you intend to stay?"
Garen did not respond. Through their Embrace connection, he could sense Su Ye's profound sadness and a touch of anger. To be honest, given Garen's current level of power, breaking this bloodline Embrace was no longer a challenge. However, doing so would severely harm Su Ye; not only would it shatter any hope of ascending to legend, but it might also lead to the loss of memories.
More importantly, it would be meaningless.
"Come with me," Su Ye said, casting a fleeting glance at Garen.
Garen shook his head. "I refuse."
"You don't get to decide," Su Ye raised an eyebrow. She had anticipated Garen's resistance but did not expect such a firm rejection.
Garen shrugged. "You can't defeat me."
It was important to note that Garen had reached the pinnacle of legend, nearing world-class power. Whether inside or outside the Lost Land, he was nearly invincible; even among the few world-class experts, Garen was qualified for a fight.
"Are you giving up on that tower?" Su Ye sighed unusually and said, "Bai has already sent people to begin construction using the Gargoro Family's ancestral resources. It will be completed in half a month at the earliest."
Garen paused in surprise; he hadn't expected Su Ye to remember this matter. After a moment of silence, he shook his head. "It's no longer needed."
The purpose of the Watchtower was to transport Rune Warriors from the Valoran Continent. However, at this moment, those warriors were dormant in the distant wilderness. Therefore, whether or not to build the Watchtower had lost its significance.
At this point, Garen had already guessed that the Watchtowers had been destroyed by Eternity. Undeniably, Eternity's control over this world surpassed that of anyone else; it could be said that no detail escaped their gaze. So even if building Watchtowers was useful, who could guarantee they wouldn't be destroyed a second time?
Su Ye did not expect Garen to say such a thing, and her expression darkened immediately. Unlike Sharg and the others, she did not press him further because, through Embrace, she genuinely felt Garen's sense of loneliness.
This made it hard for her to believe.
Because even in Su Ye's eyes, Garen was the most steadfast warrior she had ever seen. Just like back on Starsea Island, his pain index far exceeded 5.0, even causing Pain Crystal to shatter. This indicated that he had endured unimaginable suffering, yet he managed to keep going... So what could possibly make this warrior feel powerless and lonely?
It was a chilling question.
"Is something about to happen?" Su Ye recalled seeing certain records in Seydon's Progenitor's study, which seemed to be Seydon Solomon's prophecy of a future disaster.
Garen thought for a moment and replied, "What is meant to come will come."
Seeing that Garen did not want to elaborate, Su Ye did not press further but returned to the initial question: "So you really won't come back with me?"
"I don't belong here, so saying 'go back' is not quite appropriate." Garen waved his hand and turned to continue on his path.
Su Ye did not chase after him but silently gazed at his retreating figure.
She did not understand the meaning behind Garen's words, but that did not matter because she had little interest in his past; she only wanted to bring Garen back to Solomon's Castle. Despite this cold-blooded and proud woman’s reluctance to mention it, it was undeniable that her Embrace was the most unique among all vampires.
Because there was only one chance.
In other words, Garen was the only one in this world who could easily understand what lay within Su Ye's heart.
How could ordinary people imagine that this woman, who looked down on life and employed cruel means, had once felt extreme helplessness? She knelt in Solomon's Sanctuary, looking at Seydon's Progenitor, praying countless times and weeping endlessly. Ultimately, this only propelled her to where she stood today.
The first thing Su Ye did after stepping out of the Sanctuary that year was to imprison her biological father, locking him away at the bottom of an abyss devoid of light. Following that, she relentlessly provoked the entire blood clan.
Half a month ago, Su Ye moved her mother's gravestone to the most sacred place of the blood clan, standing alongside the Ancestor of the Abyss. Many opposed her and condemned her actions, but no one dared to take action… because anyone who did ended up dead by the next day.
This is the current state of Su Ye.
Su Ye once thought that after leaving the Sanctuary that day, her life would be free from pain, helplessness… and sadness.
But at this moment, as she watched the crystalline tears fall into her palm and felt that long-lost warmth, she suddenly found herself at a loss.
She gazed at the figure growing more distant.
Embrace is unique. Garen is the only one in this world who can see into Su Ye's heart, and in turn, Su Ye can easily perceive many of Garen's emotions.
Feeling that endless sense of loneliness, even Su Ye couldn't help but feel a bit suffocated.
Meanwhile, Garen, who had completely vanished from sight, stood at a crossroads.
He could sense Su Ye's inner turmoil at this moment.
He murmured, "What a pity."
