Garen stood on the other side of the window, and of course, he also saw the group of mysterious individuals.
"Don't worry about them," Garen said after a moment of silence.
Han Yun was taken aback, but since Garen had said that, he chose not to say anything further.
Time passed by slowly.
After fifteen minutes, Han Yun stood up on his own, picking up his spear to warm up in the Gravity Training Room.
"Master, I'm ready!"
Garen glanced at the eager Han Yun before reopening the Gravity device.
"Whoosh!" At the moment the Gravity intensified, Han Yun's spear shot forward in a straight line! It was aimed precisely at Garen's left shoulder, exploiting a gap that appeared when he reached out to activate the Gravity.
However, just then, Garen swatted the spear away with a sharp clap.
"The accuracy is barely acceptable, but what about your speed and strength? Did you forget what I just said?"
Han Yun's face showed surprise. In a sense, this shot combined all the experience he had just summarized; both accuracy and power were at his current highest level! Yet, why did it have no effect at all? Was talent really that important for a warrior?
No, Master Garen had just said that talent wasn't important!
Han Yun took a deep breath and said earnestly, "I'm sorry, Master. I will keep working hard!"
With that, Han Yun stepped back two paces and lifted his spear again. He channeled power from his waist muscles throughout his body and thrust once more! "Smack!" Just like before, Garen casually swatted it away.
But this time, Han Yun did not hear any criticism. Instead, he saw Garen smile lightly and say, "Continue."
Clearly, compared to the previous shot, this attack showed noticeable improvement. Han Yun suppressed his excitement and quickly resumed his stance, fully immersing himself in the training.
However, it was not just this shot that showed improvement; in fact, even the shot from earlier had far exceeded what it was fifteen minutes ago. The reason Han Yun's strength and speed were lacking was because Garen had adjusted the Gravity to four times!
Garen did not want the young man to become arrogant, so he spoke out in criticism. However, it turned out that this young man did not need Garen's help to adjust his mindset; his temperament was already mature enough. He fired again and again, and after being suppressed by Garen, he would rethink and attack anew, each time giving it his all.
Gradually, Garen couldn't help but admire him.
The gap between a genius and an ordinary person is often reflected at the starting line. Those with exceptional talent start further ahead than others, which means they can take the lead right from the beginning. However, during the course of the race, everyone encounters setbacks; when one reaches the point of exhaustion, no one cares how much talent you have or how far ahead you were at the start...
In the end, what matters is unwavering perseverance.
This was fully embodied in Han Yun. In a true sense, Han Yun's talent was even inferior to that of a Rookie Class Student, yet he could persist in training under three or four times the Gravity, without a single complaint.
There has never been a notion of losing on any path. Only those who give up early and a few who have yet to win exist.
Training under four times the Gravity was incredibly grueling, but Han Yun's efforts brought him immense rewards; compared to fifteen minutes ago, his understanding of marksmanship had improved several levels.
"Your reactions are too slow! Stop repeatedly imagining the scenes from the Gladiatorial Arena!"
"Deliberate imitation can help you get started quickly, but it won't take you further!" Garen's deep voice echoed through the Gravity Training Room, causing passing servants to tremble in fear.
"Don't be fixated on how to use your weapon; the weapon is an extension of your body! Treat it as part of yourself! The purpose of using a weapon is to enhance your body's strength!"
This training session lasted far longer than the previous one. Han Yun's upper body was drenched in sweat, his black hair soaked, yet his eyes remained serious.
If we only speak of fatigue, he was indeed so exhausted that he could fall asleep standing up. But he knew very well that he was not the only one tired; in this Gravity Training Room, Mentor Garen was also constantly enduring the effects of Gravity!
Yet under such circumstances, he continued to guide him through his training!
In some way, Han Yun regarded Garen as his goal. Yes, he longed to become a powerful figure like Garen, desiring to take control of his own life rather than being locked away in a room like a puppet—just a slave!
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" The sound of gunfire echoed through the Gravity Training Room.
……
“Smack!”
After an unknown amount of training, Garen dismissed Han Yun's attack for what felt like the umpteenth time and signaled for him to stop.
“Let’s call it a day.”
Han Yun, fighting against fatigue, stubbornly replied, “Instructor, I can keep going!”
“I know you can,” Garen said with a shake of his head and a smile, “but I have some matters to attend to.”
“If you don’t want to rest yet, you can stay here a little longer.” Garen placed his hand on the Gravity mechanism, hesitating for a moment before allowing it to remain at four times Gravity.
“Alright.” Han Yun nodded heavily.
Garen picked up his Black Suit jacket and slowly walked out of the Gravity Training Room.
It was already late at night. Garen planned to check on Su Ye at the Inner Fortress. He had seen a group of people through the window earlier; although they weren’t particularly strong, their demeanor suggested they had received professional training. Moreover, Su Ye’s injuries remained a significant concern.
Even if these individuals couldn’t kill Su Ye, allowing her condition to worsen would only increase Garen’s workload.
……
Just as Garen’s figure disappeared at the end of the corridor, a Butler holding a tray slowly approached from the other end and finally stopped in front of the Gravity Training Room door.
He stood quietly at the entrance for a moment, confirming that Garen had not returned. Then he pulled a dagger from beneath the tray and pushed open the door to the Gravity Training Room.
Indeed, the Butler was there to assassinate Han Yun.
Of course, this wasn’t his primary objective; it was merely to add some excitement to the game by eliminating that woman. After all, who would lower themselves to target this Human Slave within these seven days?
The answer, without a doubt, was the Reimer Clan.
Although Somaroth remained indifferent to the internal conflicts among the clans, this gathering was hosted by him. A bloody incident occurring at such a time would be akin to slapping him in the face. Given his temperament, he would undoubtedly spare no effort in finding the culprit. Therefore, a scapegoat was needed.
Even with Somaroth's intelligence, he would quickly realize that Acheron was not the murderer, but at least for a short time, it would be enough to confuse everyone’s attention.
"Who are you?" The bare-chested boy in the Gravity Training Room looked on in confusion.
"Reporting to you, my lord, I am here to bring you a midnight snack." The Butler quietly revealed his Second Rank aura, negating the fourfold gravity. However, addressing a Human Slave as "my lord" still made him uncomfortable.
But it didn’t matter; this slave was about to die.
The Butler walked to the center with a tray in hand and suddenly drew a dagger from his palm, swiftly aiming for Han Yun's head!
But at that moment, the Butler's movement halted abruptly, an inexplicable tingling sensation prickling at his scalp.
He turned his head and saw Garen staring at him expressionlessly from the other side of the Gravity Training Room.
"Teacher..." Han Yun's voice trembled as he stared at the dagger poised near his forehead.
"Don't be afraid; fight him."
