When Cui Ming arrived in Dawn City, he contacted Ding Ze, who came to pick him up. It was then that he learned Jinjin had become a wanted criminal by the alliance. Miss Fortune hadn't falsely accused Jinjin; as soon as she arrived in Dawn City and before any arrangements were made, she heard about an incident occurring there. The Golden Idol held a fan meeting, and before it started, hundreds of protesters had pulled out banners to protest against Golden Idol's lip-syncing during their last performance at the stadium.
Fraud Case The police have accepted the case of fraud and have handed it over to the prosecutor for indictment. Before the trial, the two most important Witnesses, a lighting technician and a security supervisor, went missing, rumored to have moved to the Eastern Continent. The Golden Idol not only refuted the prosecutor's claims in court but also intended to sue four fans for fabricating false evidence to maliciously defame him. The vast majority of fans were indifferent; they didn’t care whether their idol sang live or lip-synced, or if he was off-key—they loved everything about him.
However, on the day of the fan meeting, over a hundred fans unfurled banners demanding an apology from the Golden Idol. These fans clashed verbally with those waiting in line to enter, leading to some physical scuffles. At that moment, the Golden Idol arrived, ready to engage with the protesters, but unexpectedly took a rotten egg to the face before he could say a word.
Seeing her idol in such a predicament, Jinjin rushed forward, pushing through dozens of protesters and grabbing one fan by the neck who had thrown the egg. However, she used too much force, causing the fan to choke. The protesters, unaware that Jinjin was a practitioner, attempted to protect their attacked comrade while also retaliating against Jinjin. Accustomed to being aggressive and without any hesitation, Jinjin ended up killing three people on the spot. The protesters scattered in panic; both the idol and his fans were stunned. Jinjin casually shot her idol a concerned glance before turning and leaving with flair.
This incident could escalate significantly depending on the local police's attitude. Evelyn was certainly not going to let it slide; she immediately blocked major traffic routes and teamed up with Zhao Wei to hunt down Jinjin. Zhao Wei lay in ambush at an old dock and engaged in a fierce battle with Jinjin, but ultimately she managed to escape.
The Force Alliance received notification and sent personnel to investigate in the Eastern Continent. According to one investigator, it was because someone had attacked that Jinjin acted in self-defense. Therefore, under alliance principles, there should be no warrant issued for her arrest.
A total of four investigators were dispatched, all members of the council: one each from the Ding Family, Liu Family, and Cao Family, along with a new council member named Yellen, who chose to remain silent. This case was originally being handled behind the scenes by Jinjin's father and the Ye Family, so it seemed like it would blow over. However, coincidentally, Wandering and others were waiting for news in Dawn City. Wandering believed that Jinjin had every capability to issue a warning indicating her identity and deter others but failed to do so entirely. She had lost control completely, exceeding reasonable self-defense standards. It was akin to police officers carrying firearms; they cannot simply shoot someone causing trouble unless that person's actions pose a threat to others' lives.
Bufon privately told Wandering that Jinjin's father was one of the most important members of the Dawn Empire Elder Council. The Dawn Empire is the leader of the Eternity alliance and holds significant influence within the Force Alliance. They had enough loyal practitioners from the Loyal Dawn Empire, along with families like Ding, Cao, and Liu; there was no need for this situation to escalate so dramatically. Finally, Bufon reminded Wandering that without alliance consent, hunters cannot issue warrants against individuals.
Nevertheless, Wandering still issued a warrant for Jinjin, categorized as a Class Two Level Two warrant—similar in severity to that of Vlad. The reasoning was simple: the Hunter Organization suspected that Jinjin possessed considerable destructive potential based on her history of violent incidents. Coupled with what happened in Dawn City, they had reason to suspect her violent tendencies; thus she needed to be captured for hunter testing. If she passed like Vlad, she would regain her freedom; otherwise, she would end up in prison.
Being an experienced veteran, when these words were spoken by Wandering, no one found fault with them. Consequently, a warrant for Jinjin was issued; she must contact the alliance within twenty days or risk being pursued. If she resisted capture by hunters, she could be attacked.
By day twenty-four, when Cui Ming arrived in Dawn City, there had been no sign of Jinjin, nor any news about her whereabouts. Practitioners were obligated to capture her; thus she officially became a wanted criminal. Where was Jinjin? Only Evelyn knew—she was right there in Dawn City. Just days ago, she had been staying in the best room of a top hotel enjoying sunbathing without taking the warrant seriously at all.
Why wasn’t anyone persuading her to surrender? Those who might persuade her included her father and members of the Ding Family. It wasn't that she didn't understand the gravity of her situation; she was just waiting for an opportunity. To present herself as a dutiful daughter by turning herself in wasn’t out of fear of the alliance or anything else. However, no one urged her because just before her father arrived on an airship to the Eastern Continent, he fell gravely ill and was hospitalized due to some manipulations by Vlad.
Vlad despised this game mode; he didn’t want the family tied down to any single person’s chariot as it would mean taking sides. If they had to align themselves with either glory or downfall of the Dawn Empire, it should be with the empire itself rather than any specific elder. What worried him more was not only how this affected Jinjin's mindset but also how it involved people like Cui Ming Miss Fortune. Their murderous intent had already escalated significantly while he felt completely incapable of restraining her. In such circumstances, it was likely that she would put the Ding Family in a difficult position; for instance, this biased investigation had already led many council members to express dissatisfaction towards family investigators. In future elections, it was certain that the Ding Family would lose their seats and consequently weaken their influence within the alliance.
This woman is a disaster; perhaps it's better if she just disappears!
Without any opportunity for retreat, on day twenty-one when Evelyn sought out Jinjin, she found that she had already left the hotel. Following this development, Evelyn ordered another blockade of all major traffic routes. Unfortunately, due to insufficient manpower—since Zhao Wei had been borrowed by Wandering, leaving her somewhat helpless—at this moment, help came from unexpected quarters: members from both the Alliance Hunter and Miss Fortune stepped forward willingly.
Ding Ze introduced the current situation, saying, "The personnel for the second phase of the plan are well-prepared. Mi Xiaonan is acting as a spy in West Lake City. Li Qing has something to attend to. Right now, the team consists of me, Beiyue, and Ye Wen, Ye Xin, and Ye Ying who are currently in Nordo City under the pretense of protecting a research institute.
