The lineups for both sides were as follows: the York Clan included Mi Big Head, Mi Xiaona, Mi Xiaolu, Mi Xiaoji, and Mi Xiaobo.
The lineup of Silent City featured several individuals known only by their nicknames. Among them was the Prophet. The Giant Bug, which was the Void Creature defeated in the desert by Cui Ming, Eva, and Zhao Wei, was nicknamed Fearbringer, but everyone referred to him as the Giant Bug. The Sword Demon, a Blood Mage Warrior, was the second category of wanted criminal in the Alliance. Five years ago, he was forced to seek refuge in Silent City while being hunted by hunters and became part of Silent City, currently serving under the city lord.
The War Goddess was a woman and the heir of a renowned mercenary family from the Eternity continent. With the establishment of the Eternity Alliance leading to fewer wars, mercenary families began to fade away. However, the War Goddess was a practitioner who continued to be employed in various countries' Civil Wars. Although she had no financial worries, her inheritance of ideals did not cease. Four years ago, she was wanted by the Alliance for the massacre of ordinary people and fled to Silent City. She did not belong to Silent City; in her view, there was only a distinction between employers and non-employers.
The last individual was a Cyborg. This Cyborg was created by a few madmen in Silent City who sought to modify the strongest warrior from the Dawn Empire. The experiment failed, leaving behind only a pool of green liquid. One of the four elders, Sadin, discovered that this liquid possessed life and took over its research. This green liquid grew rapidly like an infant. The current Cyborg stood at two meters three in height, entirely green with strong muscles. It was said that he once jumped from the highest peak within Silent City and survived.
For both sides, this would be a tough battle; however, most people favored Silent City due to its many peculiarities. Everyone knew about the abilities of the Prophet and the War Goddess; there was less understanding of the Sword Demon initially thought to be merely a practitioner of Blood Magic within a Magic System. He referred to himself as the Sword Demon, which naturally implied a connection to swords, although he had never been seen using one on the continent. As for the Cyborg, no one in the Alliance knew of his existence. His story was conveyed through letters written by the Prophet to Bufon.
Cui Ming attended the match and focused solely on the Prophet throughout. He realized that rather than participating in the competition, it seemed more like an experiment for her. The Prophet's attention was entirely on the Giant Bug; she was powerful but did not exert her full strength during the match. Instead, she acted as a support figure for the Giant Bug, striving to ensure his survival on the battlefield. The Giant Bug displayed both fearless bravery and characteristics of Intelligent Beings—he maneuvered with precision and assessed situations exceptionally well.
Cui Ming discussed this with Ding Ze, who had communicated with Wanderer. Ding Ze informed Cui Ming that it could not be ruled out that the Prophet was researching Void Creatures to explore possibilities for existing within the Void Realm herself. Similar to Wanderer, she could freely traverse into the Void Realm and reach various planets from there; Wanderer's immortality also stemmed from his connection to that realm. One could understand it this way: when you can survive and move freely within the Void Realm, you are approaching a god-like existence because time does not exist there and it does not physically occupy any place in the universe. Intelligent Beings entering would suffer endless pain from Void Energy until they ultimately perished due to lack of food and water.
There are methods to enter the Void and summon Otherworldly Creatures through it; however, according to current records in the Alliance, no one has been able to enter without suffering negative effects from Void Energy while living freely.
Ding Ze remarked, "There is an idea: through researching Void Creatures to comprehensively understand the Void Realm. Given that the Prophet herself utilizes Void Power effectively, it is possible she could achieve this goal. However, her power is certainly insufficient." He continued explaining that Wanderer mentioned energy in the Void Realm is akin to deep-sea water pressure—immense pressure exists where creatures can move but face exponentially increasing pressure as their speed increases. Summoning creatures merely uses the Void Realm as a springboard; failure rates for summoning spells are high because many Otherworldly Creatures cannot withstand that pressure and die within it. Thus, only relatively powerful beings are summoned into Eternal Sphere; one must cultivate Force to survive under such immense pressure.
Cui Ming asked, "How strong must one be?"
Ding Ze pondered for a moment before responding: "He didn't clarify much; speaking specifically about the Prophet, I personally believe she has the ability to remain in the Void Realm but certainly cannot move freely within it."
"Cui Ming said, 'What if it's that Mage from the lost civilization?'
'I don't know, but I think he should be able to. However, he is an energy entity and cannot set up a magic array, so he can't transport himself to the Void Realm.'
'Could it be that two people are collaborating?'
Ding Ze chuckled, 'Cui Ming, don't overthink it. Besides, even if the prophet goes, it doesn't matter.'
This match had no significance in terms of victory or defeat; the members of Silent City seemed to be in a daze. There was no coordination among them at all. The Sword Demon was wandering in the jungle while Set Off was busy engaging Mi Xiaobo for a while without any tactical teleportation back to check out the treasures in the shop before meandering around Midway. The Cyborg was similar; however, he was more dedicated, playing with Mi Xiaoji in the Bottom Lane without initiating any attacks, as if they were just playing a game together. When Mi Xiaoji blew him into pieces, he quickly reassembled his scattered body and stood up again. Mi Xiaoji was going crazy from the fight, while the Cyborg laughed heartily, appearing quite simple-minded.
The War God was at Midway, playing solo without needing any cooperation. He dashed left and right at Midway while the Sword Demon was surrounded in the jungle a hundred meters away, completely ignoring her situation. If viewed separately, they were all incredibly strong: the Sword Demon had powerful attack capabilities and Blood Magic for great survivability; the War God could instantly activate an invincible barrier; and the Cyborg was an unbeatable presence. Yet they had no intention of coming together to coordinate their attacks. Even when surrounded by multiple enemies, they chose to fight alone instead of calling for reinforcements.
The most pressure fell on the Giant Bug and the prophet, who followed behind the Giant Bug like a dog on a leash. The Giant Bug was quite formidable; its Fear Technique relied heavily on deception through disguise; otherwise, its hit rate would be too low. However, when the Giant Bug opened its mouth, it could emit a sharp sound that sent creatures within a seventy-meter fan-shaped area into a state of fear. Unfortunately for the prophet, unless the Giant Bug encountered danger, he would not take action.
The Silent City Group embodied the essence of Silent City—chaotic and disordered.
Against weaker teams like Fish Team, Silent City could still win due to their outstanding strength. However, playing against York Clan like this was simply overconfident.
In the end, Little Wave Team secured victory and eliminated Silent City Group. Observing Silent City's previous matches revealed this kind of gameplay; during victories, everyone only saw their impressive ability to take on two or three opponents because their strategy relied on strength without needing rescue. After watching this match, everyone's perception of Silent City changed completely. Such immense power yet lacking even a hint of cohesion—there wasn't even a basic rescue coordination—it was simply unimaginable.
Little Wave Team joined North Moon Group, Fire Cult, and Pirate Team in the Final Four.
After the last round of eliminations, teams brought out their trump cards. Even during North Moon Group's meeting, everyone acknowledged that Little Wave Team, North Moon Group, and Pirate Team were on one level of strength while Fire Cult surpassed all three significantly. Drawing Fire Cult was considered a bad draw; however, conversely speaking, if one wanted to win the championship, avoiding Fire Cult was impossible. There was no basis for thinking one could eliminate Fire Cult through other groups."
Cui Ming said, "The Pirate Team has just been formed and there are many issues. Although the Little Wave Team is strong, their strategy is fixed and they prefer a slow push. Mi Xiaonan also mentioned that the Little Wave Team is secretly training, focusing on this tactic. We can't expect them to defeat the Fire Cult. Therefore, this draw is meaningless."
Mi Xiaonan interjected, "It's meaningful; we can reach the finals."
Cui Ming shook his head. "There’s no difference between second place and fourth place. This is an era where only winners are remembered; people will only recall the champion, not the runner-up."
Li Qing added, "I agree with my junior brother's view. Whether we face the Fire Cult early or late, it doesn't matter. However, junior brother, how confident are you against the Fire Cult? Our strength is inferior to theirs; it all depends on your moves."
"Before devising strategies and tactics, we need to understand our opponent. We know nothing about the Fire Cult; we don't even know who their leader is. Plus, the golden combination of Mi Xiaonan and me has already been exposed; using it again won't be as effective," Cui Ming replied. "As for strength, how do we deal with a Centaur? And the Lion Dog— even if we all buy true sight potions, we won't be able to take him down in five minutes; that guy runs too fast. The Leopard Woman can throw spears over hundreds of meters; she's practically a bug. On the other hand, the Serpent Woman and Minotaur are somewhat easier to handle."
Beiyue asked, "I understand about the Serpent Woman; she's very fragile and has no means of escape. But what about the Minotaur?"
"The Minotaur is tough-skinned. Thick-skinned individuals tend to charge recklessly on the battlefield and lead during combat. He believes he won't be killed. In theory, we wouldn't focus our firepower on him during a fight. To deal with him, we need to concentrate our firepower on him and push forward; let him charge ahead—this time it will be his downfall."
Beiyue took out paper and pencil, drawing as he spoke. "Aside from the Leopard Woman, the others have short reach. The Minotaur indeed likes to charge forward; since he runs slowly, we need to run first. Because of this, there will be a certain distance between us and the backline, but our time is very limited. The Centaur and Lion Dog are both very fast."
"Yes, the Fire Cult is difficult to deal with. If it's purely competitive, I do have a plan: my senior brother and I will take a back route," Cui Ming said. "This tactic is very risky. Senior brother will have to withstand damage from the Arrow Tower while we cut into the Main Base directly targeting their nest." Both of them had ways to avoid being intercepted at the back route's entrance.
Li Qing quickly shook his head. "Junior brother, if we're going to fight, we can be despicable and shameless, but we can't play too obscurely. The key point is to engage with the Fire Cultists and crush their confidence. If we take a back route while I hold off the Arrow Tower and you teleport in to destroy it— even if successful, it wouldn't mean much."
Everyone agreed with Li Qing's perspective; they considered themselves the only team among the three that could potentially defeat the Fire Cult. The first reason was that they were stronger than the other two teams in terms of strength. The second reason was Cui Ming—he would find a way out of any situation. What kind of way? Just let Cui Ming figure it out himself. (To be continued.)
