In the depths of the ocean, how could there be such a light? Heizi nudged me, pointing ahead, clearly having seen it too. I gestured for him to follow me as we swam toward the glow. Heizi nodded, and we both moved in that direction. 0

After about ten minutes of swimming, I realized that the chains binding us had become too short; we had reached their limit. Heizi's chains were the same. If we wanted to continue, we would have to unfasten them. 0

Heizi gestured to me, asking, "What should we do? Should we go over?" 0

I pondered for a moment, steeling my resolve. I gestured back, "Let's go." Since we had come this far, a little more time wouldn't hurt. What if there was a wreck ahead? At least we wouldn't have dived in vain. 0

We both unfastened our chains and continued swimming forward. However, I suddenly noticed something strange: despite swimming for so long, the light seemed to be getting farther away. What was going on? Was this an illusion? 0

Just as I was pondering this, the light ahead vanished suddenly, as if it had never existed at all. In the deep sea, apart from Heizi's underwater light, there were no other sources of illumination. 0

We exchanged glances, both puzzled by what was happening. I had heard of mirages before but never of deep-sea illusions! At that moment, the light source reappeared abruptly, flickering rapidly and much closer than before; it no longer felt distant. 0

A bad feeling crept into my mind; everything felt too strange. I had never encountered anything like this before. Heizi seemed curious as well. We exchanged looks and nodded in agreement to investigate further. I checked my oxygen tank; there was less than half an hour of air left. We needed to hurry. 0

I pointed at my oxygen tank and tapped my wrist to indicate time was short, signaling, "Quickly go and come back." 0

Heizi understood well; he gave me an "OK" sign. We quickened our pace as we swam toward the light source, which was now getting closer. Both Heizi and I felt a surge of excitement as we exchanged glances filled with anticipation, unaware that danger was inching closer. 0

Finally, we saw the glowing object. What... what exactly was this thing? I could hardly believe my eyes; the creature before me was incredibly bizarre. It resembled a flower bud about the size of a basin, its petals tightly closed and not yet opened. 0

The place that had just emitted light was this thing, now it was flickering with a red glow, illuminating both my and Heizi's faces in a bright crimson. Surrounding it were some long, plankton-like organisms, resembling seaweed but distinctly different. 0

These creatures seemed to possess a life force, their shapes peculiar and somewhat spring-like, moving in circles. They gently coiled around us, as if aware of our presence right before them. 0

I cast a questioning glance at Heizi, who shook his head vigorously. It seemed he had no idea what this thing was either. I gestured for him to use the light to check the surroundings for any similar creatures. 0

Heizi quickly shone the light around. Aside from some seaweed and plankton, there wasn't even a small fish in sight. We didn't find any other creatures like this one, at least not within the beam of light; as for what lay further away, we couldn't tell. 0

In the depths of the ocean, encountering such a strange organism certainly sent chills down my spine, especially since it glowed red. In all my years, I had never seen a glowing plant; its existence shattered my previous understanding. 0

The light seemed to possess some sort of magic. I realized that I couldn't stare at it for too long; it constantly drew me closer. It was clear we couldn't linger here; we needed to leave quickly, especially since our oxygen supply was running low—at most we could hold on for another ten minutes. 0

I signaled to Heizi that we should head back, but he seemed oblivious. He reached out to touch the creature. I wanted to shout but couldn't get the words out; panic made me whimper as I tried to stop him, but it was too late—his hand had already made contact. 0

The moment he touched it, the creature suddenly emitted a green light, and its petals began to open slowly. I glanced forward and froze in terror; inside those petals was a human face. 0

The face was clearly visible, even showing wrinkles; it had its eyes closed as if asleep. The most horrifying part was that the face was green, making it look exceptionally terrifying. What kind of monster was this? 0

When Heizi saw this, his eyes widened in shock, his body frozen in place as if paralyzed by fear. I couldn't stay any longer; our oxygen was almost gone. I quickly grabbed his arm, trying to pull him away from this nightmare. 0

Just then, I saw that face suddenly open its eyes and widen its mouth. I distinctly heard a sound emanating from it—a mix of pain and terror—a howl that felt like it came straight from hell. 0

My ears were nearly overwhelmed by the noise; Heizi hurriedly covered his ears with his hands, his expression one of agony. Then came a loud bang as something green erupted from that mouth, instantly contaminating the surrounding water. 0

Oh my God, what is this? Heizi also reflected back, and we hurriedly rushed towards the surface of the water. I pulled Heizi upstream, but suddenly, I felt a powerful force pulling me down, as if it wanted to drag me to the bottom of the sea. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't rise. 0

I quickly turned my head to take a look; this was bad. Heizi was entangled by something that resembled seaweed. He was struggling in pain, but the Underwater Light in his hand was tightly gripped. There was no time to think; I had to hurry and save him. I drew the Paratrooper Knife from my leg and quickly went to cut through the entangling tendrils. At that moment, I noticed that the green mass was slowly approaching us. 0

But those seaweed-like things were multiplying rapidly. No matter how much I cut them, they would grow back swiftly. The green monstrosity was almost upon us, and Heizi was on the verge of losing it. He kept twisting his body, emitting sounds of desperate struggle as if he were fighting for his life, yet no matter what he did, he couldn't break free. 0

These seaweed-like things clung to him like vengeful spirits, refusing to let go. Just at that critical moment, damn it, the oxygen suddenly ran out. I realized the severity of the situation; being deep underwater without oxygen was practically a death sentence. 0

Heizi's face showed an expression of unbearable pain. I knew his oxygen supply had run out too. Holding one's breath underwater is far more difficult than above water. If we couldn't leave this place immediately, within two minutes we would suffer brain death due to lack of oxygen. 0

Finally, I gritted my teeth and thought to hell with it; I was going all out. I removed the Oxygen Tank and used all my strength to cut through those things while pulling Heizi out. Just as I was about to pull Heizi free, that green monstrosity had already reached him. 0

Heizi's body lay parallel; the green mass had covered his feet. I saw him struggling in pain, and as I held onto his hand, I could feel his entire body trembling uncontrollably. Summoning all my strength, I yanked Heizi out from the seaweed. 0

I noticed that within that green mass, something seemed to be moving. Without hesitation, I raised my spear and shot at it; whether it worked or not didn't matter—better to act first. 0

Then, I quickly grabbed his arm and swam upstream with all my might. It was a tragic situation for me; Heizi seemed completely unresponsive. His heavy weight soon became unbearable for me. If I let him go now, I would definitely escape, but I couldn't do that! During my time in the military, I had abandoned a comrade once; it was a pain that haunted me for life. No matter what happened, I had to bring Heizi to the surface. 0

My legs kept kicking frantically while Heizi lay still like a corpse. At this moment, it felt like my lungs were about to explode from lack of oxygen; my brain started to slow down due to hypoxia. Just when my consciousness began to fade away, I finally burst through the Sea Surface... 0
