Jack's fingers lightly brushed over the dusty window, trying hard to gain a clearer view. The scene outside the window gradually became discernible. On the ground not far away, lay several bodies that had just fallen in a fierce battle with the radiation ghosts. In the dim moonlight, their bodies could be faintly seen twitching occasionally, showing faint signs of life. They had not truly died, only been paralyzed by powerful electric shocks.
This scene made Jack feel a twinge of regret. On the way to this place just now, he had been completely focused on finding a safe hiding place, to the point of not noticing these potential dangers. The presence of these fallen people not only proved the danger of this area, but also meant that his presence had likely been noticed by them.
Jack leaned against the wall and slowly squatted down, his heart filled with complex emotions. This means he will spend a whole day slowly approaching the city from the outskirts, observing the surrounding conditions, and evaluating whether there is enough security to cross with his dogs. Jack believes that spending a day to gather crucial information is undoubtedly a wiser choice compared to adding an extra hundred kilometers to the journey.
For this reconnaissance mission, Jack has developed a detailed plan, including how to approach the city discreetly, where to observe, and how to quickly retreat if danger is detected. He is acutely aware that this reconnaissance not only tests his courage but also his intelligence and decision-making abilities.
Finally, Jack and his dogs rested quietly in the abandoned house, preparing for the reconnaissance mission the next day. He silently prayed in his heart, hoping to safely navigate this exploration and obtain useful information to guide their journey ahead. For Jack, every choice is a matter of survival, and this reconnaissance may perhaps indicate a safer and wiser path for them.
