In an instant, the Wind Eagle was drawing near. No amount of rest would help now; Yu Tian had no choice but to focus and prepare for a timely reaction. Back on Earth, they had faced trials in the desert, where conditions were harsh. Unlike this pre-civilization era, Yu Tian had received theoretical training in combat skills.
He knew that the best moment to dodge was right when an attack was about to land; generally, when an enemy was about to strike, their focus would wane slightly—this was a form of arrogance. If one could prepare well during such moments, a successful counterattack could yield excellent results. However, this required high precision; one had to react at the last possible moment before danger struck, or it would lead to certain death.
Yu Tian heightened his vigilance to the maximum, his muscles tensing up. At that moment, the Wind Eagle accelerated dramatically, its sharp beak thrusting forward as it emitted a series of warning shrieks.
Just as the Wind Eagle was mere centimeters away from him, with the help of the Qiankun Pearl, he clearly discerned the true form of the Wind Eagle distorted by its high speed. In that split second, he quickly veered left and narrowly avoided the attack.
Yu Tian did not immediately retaliate; without magical abilities, he might not be as formidable as the creature. Since they were in the Wind Elemental Realm, where wind elements thrived abundantly, the Wind Elemental suppressed other elements by controlling all wind energies. Thus, without energy support, Yu Tian found himself devoid of magical powers.
Quickly adjusting his position, Yu Tian watched as the Wind Eagle flew back after failing to catch its prey. It emitted a series of screeching sounds, clearly expressing both surprise and anger.
Seeing the Wind Eagle attacking his elder brother, Shui Er raised its head and cried out incessantly. However, its voice seemed to be blocked by something; Yu Tian could hardly hear it as Shui Er remained trapped in a circle.
Although the Wind Eagle's speed was not overwhelming this time, it could easily adjust its direction when moving at such speeds. This allowed it to respond promptly to any sudden movements from its prey.
The Wind Elemental cast another spatial barrier that confined Yu Tian to a flat plane; he could no longer run around freely.
When the Wind Eagle was about a meter away from him, Yu Tian crouched down and crawled forward quickly. After several attempts, he felt that his reflexes were still sharp on the ground and decided to shift the battlefield to this desolate area. His body narrowly brushed past the Wind Eagle but still received two gashes from its claws. The surface of the desert instantly bore two streaks of blood while the Wind Elemental observing from somewhere in the sky remained motionless.
As pure blue blood flowed out and pain shot through him, Yu Tian knew he couldn’t afford to bandage himself just yet. He understood that this trial was on a whole new level compared to previous ones; earlier he had endured stomach pains and now bleeding seemed trivial.
The Wind Eagle quickly turned its head and shook it before lunging at Yu Tian once more.
Its claws were like eight iron hooks, reaching straight for Yu Tian. Yu Tian quickly adjusted his stance, and as the Wind Eagle launched its attack, he exerted force through his limbs and jumped upward.
At that moment, the Wind Eagle, having missed its target, did not attack immediately. Instead, it circled around Yu Tian, occasionally letting out sharp cries. It seemed to be warning this human that its attacks would only grow stronger, forcing Yu Tian to lift his head to better observe the giant eagle's movements.
Now that Yu Tian had landed, he found himself at a disadvantage. The last remnants of energy within him had been depleted; he could no longer take flight. Even though there was no gravity here, another form of spatial resistance existed. After all, this space had been artificially created and was certainly not perfect.
"I have no choice but to adapt!" Yu Tian thought to himself, though a sense of worry crept in.
He forced himself to forget everything else, focusing solely on the fact that he must survive.
"I must live!"
"I must hold on until the end!"
"I must keep fighting!"
Seeing that Yu Tian remained still, the Wind Eagle dove down. Yu Tian simply shifted to the right; it was a reflexive action driven by his subconscious, as he continued to encourage himself internally.
The Wind Eagle quickly changed direction and then accelerated sharply.
Yu Tian stood frozen, his mind blank.
"Why is this happening? Am I really going to die?"
The motivation he once felt vanished in an instant, and despair began to engulf him.
"Haha... I'm going to make sure you die; I won't let you grow stronger!" Yu Tian heard that terrifying voice echoing in his mind once more.
"You came in again?" He didn't expect that this guy would instill such negative emotions in him; it seemed there was still a chance for redemption.
"What's wrong? Unwilling? That’s not up to you!" The Demon King began to act wildly again, forgetting that he was under someone else's roof.
"Qiankun Pearl... purify once more..." A flash of light emanated from the center of Yu Tian's forehead, and he suddenly felt a wave of relief wash over him.
Seeing her elder brother in such a dangerous situation, Shui Er couldn't hold back any longer and frantically slammed against the barrier that blocked her. But the barrier was so strong that no matter how hard she tried, she remained trapped in that small space.
The sharp beak of the Wind Eagle drew closer to Yu Tian. In that moment between life and death, the Qiankun Pearl on his forehead and the Earth Spirit Shield hidden within him shone brightly, creating a dazzling energy wall around Yu Tian. In those few milliseconds, he hadn't reacted yet and could only watch as the Wind Eagle lunged at him, but his instincts told him he would prevail.
The Wind Eagle crashed into the energy wall and was unable to advance, instantly rebounding back.
The refreshing energy of the Qiankun Pearl began to circulate within him again, and Yu Tian's wounds were healing rapidly.
The Earth Spirit Shield vanished once more. "Wasn't the Wind Elemental supposed to have sealed its energy? How could this happen...?"
Seeing Yu Tian nearly struck by the Wind Eagle, Shui Er reverted to her original form—a giant wolf over a hundred meters tall. At that moment, the energy wall seemed insignificant. She charged through it with a powerful thrust and raced toward Yu Tian.
Hearing the commotion, Yu Tian turned around and was momentarily stunned. He wondered if he had any ability to counterattack if such a massive wolf pounced on him. Even being crushed would surely lead to his demise!
