Arriving alone in the Six-Dimensional Realm was solely to enhance his combat abilities. During this journey, as Yu Tian passed through the Water Elemental Realm, he encountered Shui Er and the Water Elemental Pearl. However, all this joy was shattered after entering the Fire Elemental Realm— the Demon King appeared!
The brilliance of light was so beautiful, and the falling snowflakes danced joyfully. The fleeting beauty of life was merely transient; the vibrant rainbow vanished in an instant, leaving no trace behind.
"Master... farewell forever..." The last flicker of consciousness faded away, and an overwhelming surge of energy enveloped Shui Er entirely. Soon, her black fur transformed back to pure white.
"How could this happen..." Yu Tian's mind echoed with the final struggles of the Demon King. "I will return... wait for me!" With a whoosh, a surge of energy shot directly into Yu Tian's body.
"What? Something entered my body? Damn it! I completely forgot to be on guard!" Yu Tian cursed. Initially, the Water Elemental Pearl had only warned him to be cautious of Energy Fragments, but he never expected this Demon King to be so formidable. This was the strongest purifying force Yu Tian had ever encountered; even during his battle with the fully unleashed Slicky, he had not felt such a powerful burst of energy.
"Big brother!" At that moment, Yu Tian felt a heavy weight pressing down on him, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground. If someone had seen this scene, it would have been quite amusing: a pure white wolf with massive paws resting on a person.
"Get off... get off! How can you treat your big brother like this?" Yu Tian said weakly. This enormous Water Demon Wolf was no toy; it must weigh over two hundred pounds!
"Alright, alright..." Shui Er leaped off Yu Tian and obediently sat down beside him, turning her back to him.
"What’s wrong?" Yu Tian sensed that Shui Er seemed a bit unhappy as he sat up. Looking at the battlefield from not long ago, it was now calm and peaceful. Perhaps due to the unique terrain of this Otherworld, there were no signs left behind from their battle. Was it all an illusion? Had he simply slept through it? How ridiculous, Yu Tian thought to himself as he shook his head and gazed into the distance. Before him lay an endless expanse of space—a plain devoid of any life, except for them.
"I sense a familiar energy pressure has vanished..." Shui Er's nose twitched continuously as if she were trying hard to locate that gradually fading energy.
"Really?" Yu Tian began to probe further. After such a long time, his expression changed. "It must be the Water Elemental Pearl!"
"It seems so... my connection with her is very direct..." Shui Er's words hinted that her feelings were indeed correct; she just didn't want to state it outright.
Regret... Tears once again flooded Yu Tian's heart.
This was an undeniable mistake... Yu Tian pondered, "I shouldn't have let her fight alone. We are comrades... We should exist together, through everything..." This was self-reproach, a disrespect towards his comrade. Perhaps we should respect their choices, or rather, honor their sacrifices.
"Big Brother... this was her own choice... she chose this!" Shui Er took on the role of comforting Yu Tian at that moment. "You must have seen her most beautiful moment before her death! If she hadn't chosen to do this, it might have taken tens of thousands of years for them to become so beautiful..."
Indeed! Yu Tian sighed. The final beauty is often the most stunning.
"Big Brother... let's go somewhere else!" Shui Er stood up.
Just then, something fell to the ground.
"Huh? What is that?" Shui Er wondered as she rushed towards the source of the sound, still unable to be cautious as the Water Demon Wolf.
Watching Shui Er run off into the distance brought a slight sense of comfort to Yu Tian. Perhaps it was the Water Elemental Pearl reviving Shui Er!
"Big Brother, look what I found!" Shui Er joyfully ran back, holding a small pearl in her mouth. It seemed to be a Cosmic Pearl. So, the Water Elemental Pearl must not have disappeared.
"Is it my pearl?" Yu Tian also stood up. If the pearl was still here... but he could clearly feel that the energy of the Water Elemental Pearl had vanished.
"Indeed, Big Brother... it just looks like a pearl now; all the patterns have merged together!" Shui Er jumped beside Yu Tian and spat out the pearl from her mouth.
Yu Tian crouched down, carefully picking up the pearl and wiping off the remaining saliva with his clothing, observing it closely.
"Isn't it the Water Elemental Pearl?" Yu Tian's tear-streaked face broke into a rare smile. "But why can't I feel any active energy from it?" It was true; Yu Tian could only sense the inherent energy within the pearl, but there was no significant change.
"Could it really be gone?" Shui Er's voice was small as it scratched its head with its paw, seemingly puzzled.
"Shui Er! Do you really think she's beautiful?" Yu Tian asked, staring at the pearl with a double meaning.
"Of course she's beautiful! Just look at that fiery red color; it's so vivid!" Shui Er circled around Yu Tian, wagging its tail as if eager to play with the pearl itself.
"Hmm... looks like you're a little pervert!" Yu Tian teased. The spirit of the Water Elemental Pearl had vanished, but she understood that this was a cruel beginning of war. Or perhaps it wasn't a real war yet, just a small drill. Yu Tian gradually realized that the source of combat power lay in unity, fighting alongside comrades, and respecting their choices—that was the true way of battle.
"This is true!" Shui Er began to argue for itself, not expecting to fall into Yu Tian's little trap. It knew that Yu Tian was trying to lighten the mood during this serious moment, so it played along. Suddenly, it jumped up and bit the pearl, preparing to escape. However, the Cosmic Pearl emitted a flash of flame that singed a tuft of Shui Er's nose hair.
"How could this happen!" Shui Er screamed, taking a deep breath and spitting out the pearl.
"Haha... I told you to be careful!" Yu Tian laughed as she picked up the pearl, wiped it clean, and placed it in her backpack.
"Brother Tian! Can you hide that monster?" Shui Er asked as Yu Tian chuckled and tucked the Water-Fire Pearl into her clothing.
Only then did Shui Er bounce out of the cave, with Yu Tian following closely behind. She knew this was leading her to another place... another Otherworld space... another beginning of trials.
This was a choice without choice; once you arrived, you had to move forward, just like this path to divinity...
