As Yu Tian uncovered some secrets of the Crystal Chip, he did not heed Little Ru's advice and still ventured into the Otherworld, ready to face the challenges ahead.
Suddenly, a "greeting" startled Yu Tian. This was the name he used in the black hole, but who was on the other end?
"It's me, and who are you?" Yu Tian turned his head around but saw no one else. Having learned about the magical world, Yu Tian remained relatively calm. He understood that as long as the other party did not intend to harm him, they could not be an enemy. It must be someone who enjoyed playing tricks, hiding and seeking; with that thought, Yu Tian relaxed completely.
"Me? Haha... I'm just a gatekeeper. Once upon a time, I was a good friend of your father's!" The source of the voice was difficult to pinpoint, seemingly coming from the crevices of the stones.
"Then why did you bring me here?" Yu Tian curiously looked up at the rugged stone walls above him. They were so uneven that even a gecko would struggle to climb them. The stalagmites were sharper than weapons and had distinct edges, resembling a multitude of hedgehogs lying in wait.
"You’re about to become the Kada God King, right? This is a training session to break through your energy limits—by the way, how is your father Heavenly Kadar? Hisoka?"
Yu Tian's voice lowered as he replied, "He’s dead."
It was another sorrowful question. The Dream Barrier, the last Divine Soul Pearl, his father's remains... scenes replayed in his mind like a dream. Yet reason told him it was real; his father had truly passed away.
"What?" The voice sounded surprised. "Your father is dead? How could that be?"
"Yes, he was defeated by Rikqi from the Demon Realm." Yu Tian felt a bit disoriented but managed to regain his composure.
Now was not the time for agitation; his primary task was to become stronger. Only then could he return to Kadar Planet and continue his grand ambitions!
"I can't believe it was him! Just over ten thousand years ago, he and your father learned magic from the Six Elemental Gods together, and now they turn against each other. I never expected..." The person hiding in that corner seemed to understand Yu Tian's feelings and paused for a moment before continuing, "Now let's talk business. Let the past remain in the past..."
Yu Tian collected himself. "Can you tell me where this place is?"
Before coming here, Little Ru had warned him that this was a strange region. Little Ru's Dragon Soul had been suppressed upon entering this area; its consciousness sealed by powerful energy. So at this moment, Little Ru was merely an ordinary magic wand, albeit one with potentially better magical release capabilities.
The figure paused for a moment. "Alright then! Since you are here, it won't hurt to tell you. This place is the Void Realm. It was created over three hundred million Earth years ago by the King of the Gods using his immense power, specifically as a residence for the Hexa Deity. Here, there exists the Lost Barrier and the Spatial Rift, which have prevented anyone from entering or leaving for countless millennia. However, every thirteen thousand years, it manifests for one year, allowing the Elemental God to train the leader of Heavenly Kadar. This applies equally to both the divine realm and the demon realm. Back in the day, your father and Slicky were great comrades; they traversed the Six Elements Otherworld together and helped us defeat Wormless... In any case, now that you are here, I wish you good luck. Next comes the Otherworld trial. I hope you can pass it and achieve even greater things than your father!"
"Can you come out and let me see you?" Yu Tian made a small request, genuinely curious about what his father's friend looked like.
But he refused, saying, "The Elemental Gods and guardians residing in the magical Otherworld generally do not have a physical form; our appearances change at will!"
Yu Tian didn't press further; seeing an old man probably wouldn't be of much benefit anyway. Besides, this old man might be somewhat eccentric—how could he lack a form? Was there really no difference between a person and air?
Suddenly, silence enveloped the surroundings. Yu Tian summoned Little Ru, preparing to face the trial. He had no idea what kind of test awaited him. Without Little Ru's constant reminders, Yu Tian had to be extremely cautious; this could very well cost him his life.
"I must succeed; only then can I gain greater power and ultimately defeat Slicky! If it weren't for Lin last time, I might have defeated Rikqi. That goal feels too small... Wouldn't conquering the Solar System be better?" An evil thought crept into Yu Tian's mind, and he struggled to suppress it; he didn't want to lose focus.
What was going on? Yu Tian began to wonder why such bizarre thoughts kept surfacing in his mind. Was he truly falling into madness as legends suggested? But legends were just stories—this was not a legend! Who was that mysterious voice?
He couldn't dwell on it any longer; the surrounding red gradually faded away, returning to a state of colorlessness. Yu Tian thought this void without direction or substance must resemble the state of the universe at its inception!
He took a few steps forward and then upward; no matter where he went, everything felt still. He had no idea whether he was upside down or lying down.
This was a place where one completely lost their sense of time and space. Most men who arrived here would become utterly disoriented and wish for death. Yu Tian felt similarly; after repeating the same actions countless times, his mind was on the verge of collapse.
No distance...
No direction...
No time...
Yu Tian felt as if his body was slipping out of control... as if he were about to disappear!
"It's an illusion! It must be an illusion!" He thought of Lin and his mission, hugging his knees tightly as he squatted down and closed his eyes, repeatedly murmuring to himself. "I must survive!"
"You do not exist!"
"You do not exist!"
"You do not exist..."
A ghostly voice whispered in Yu Tian's ear, as if it were deliberately meant for him.
"No! Everything is a lie!!!" Yu Tian suddenly stood up and shouted.
Finally, there was a change around him. Yu Tian felt a faint flow of air, which was quite pleasant, but there was a strange odor in the air—ozone!!!
Yu Tian immediately recognized it; how could there be ozone here?
But he didn't have time to think too much. Large areas began to emit ozone, and Yu Tian knew that inhaling too much could cost him his life.
More and more ozone enveloped Yu Tian completely, as if it were about to swallow him whole...
