Today marks the third update. Although the word count is around five thousand, it's still quite good. I will strive to keep updating after it goes live.
Just as Yu Tian was about to deliver a fatal blow to Slicky, a change occurred.
"Haha, kid, not bad! You've managed to fight to this point. Who am I? Come with me and you'll find out!"
Yu Tian felt completely disoriented, as if someone had burrowed into his ears. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his mind, and he felt his body lighten as he sank into darkness.
When he regained his senses, he found himself in a completely dark space. Here, he could feel no presence of anything; saying it was so dark he couldn't see his hand in front of him would be inaccurate, as he couldn't even feel his hands. Only his consciousness remained.
"Where are you? What place have you brought me to?" Having experienced many sudden changes before, he wasn't overly shocked by finding himself in such a strange location.
"Oh? Haha, why is it so pitch black?"
The voice came from all directions.
"Who are you? Where is this? Answer me quickly!!!"
Yu Tian only knew that Lin was still in a dangerous environment and that his battle with the Two-Headed Serpent was not yet over. He had to fight for his resolve.
"You don't even know where this is? How strange! This is your memory space! It seems you haven't truly awakened yet!"
"My memory space? Why are you here? Who are you?"
Yu Tian grew impatient and began firing off a series of questions without considering whether the other party would respond.
"I? I am the invincible God of the Universe, haha!"
As the voice echoed around him, Yu Tian suddenly felt the flow of air. He wanted to see what was around him and thought of sunlight. Suddenly, he had to close his eyes as a bright light flooded in.
He found himself on a beach, with a curved coastline, rolling waves, green trees, and seagulls calling out. The gentle breeze felt like a soft sea wind, yet it was something he couldn't quite define.
"Oh? Not bad! You can control this space so quickly."
"Control?"
"Ah, this is the space you exchanged time for during your growth. Every being with memory possesses such a space. Here, there is no concept of time; everything is either memory or a derivative of memory. You've dreamed before, right? When people dream, they enter this space, which is why everything in dreams seems so real. In dreams, everyone is a god of that space, as long as they possess self-awareness. Just like here, originally you were the controller of this place, but I am still stronger than the you who has not fully awakened! Hahaha!"
Yu Tian listened, imagining his own body, clothes, and equipment. The light blue crystal cloak fluttered in the sea breeze. However, suddenly, a massive whirlwind appeared on the surface of the sea. It was a storm, but Yu Tian had not anticipated this at all! It shouldn't have appeared! But it did, which meant???
"Stop overthinking! You are far too weak for me! Not only can I control your private space, but I can also peek into your thoughts!"
"Who exactly are you?!"
Yu Tian shouted his question for the third time; he could no longer hold it in!
"I am the God of the Universe! Or Cosmic God! Now I need to borrow your body for a while; it's been ages since I've been out. It took me a lot of energy to trap you here; I intend to have some fun. This body is becoming more and more perfect under my influence! This is fantastic! You just stay here, little brat! Hahaha!"
"Don't go! I want to fight you!"
But his voice became just a tiny speck of dust in the vast space, causing not even a ripple. After trying various methods to attack without success, Yu Tian sat down on the beach. Waves of sorrow surged within him, making his heart rise and fall with the tides.
"What a perfect body!" Yu Tian swung his arms a few times to loosen up. When the fangs of the Two-Headed Serpent were just inches from his skin, he suddenly unleashed a burst of black energy that forced the serpent's head back.
"You are?" Slicky sensed a familiar energy; could it be that his initial guess was correct? But he dismissed that thought; he had to eliminate this kid who was affecting his ambitions, even if it meant offending the demon king he had served for years.
"It seems you're still not very loyal to me! Now I'm going to use this body; don't even think about ruining it—better hurry back!"
Thinking that his opponent would retreat, Yu Tian saw the serpent's head turn toward him again, venom dripping like threads.
"Haha, you think you can trick me like this? Do you think I'm a fool? Simulating the aura of the demon race is quite impressive; I don't know how you learned it, but today, you won't escape my encirclement!!!"
Yu Tian frowned and muttered "joke," his piercing gaze directed at the Two-Headed Serpent.
At that moment, Slicky couldn't care less about anything else; he felt uneasy inside but figured since he had already taken a step forward, he might as well follow through. Moreover, his opponent's abilities didn't seem particularly strong!
The Serpent opened its massive jaws, revealing two venomous fangs and sharp snake teeth as it lunged toward Yu Tian.
Yu Tian's eyes widened in surprise as he watched the grotesque snake head coming for him. There was no hint of fear or tension on his face; it was as if the creature charging at him was merely a puppet, posing no real threat. Indeed, when the enraged Slicky aimed its gaping maw at Yu Tian's neck, it found only an afterimage or a replicated energy form.
The Two-Headed Serpent began to hiss and grow agitated, its fangs grinding together. However, being the Beast King, it quickly regained its composure. Yet, that brief moment of hesitation shifted its role from predator to prey.
Suddenly, Slicky sensed a tearing sound from the space beside it.
"Freak!" The serpent's heads quivered as it turned around. A fist swung toward it with no time left to evade.
"Ah!" The hand that was supposed to strike Slicky was intercepted by something, spewing black mist. Dark energy swirled around Slicky.
"What’s happening?" Slicky, who had braced itself for the blow, suddenly felt the intense killing intent dissipate. Seizing the opportunity, Slicky swiftly dodged away.
Yu Tian began to cradle his head with his hands, struggling as if something were about to burst forth. Suddenly, the black barrier exploded and then rapidly contracted back into his body.
"You little brat, I will be back!"
The oppressive energy that even Slicky had felt finally vanished, leaving the surroundings eerily calm.
