"Saint, will you come with me willingly, or...?" Hong Likqi suddenly appeared in the cabin of the Mother Ship, confronting Lin Saint Pua.
Lin Saint Pua still held the Holy Pearl in her hand, but the pure white light emanating from it now seemed a bit pale and desolate.
"Brother, oh no, Hong, I don't know why I ever believed you. I let down the captain! Has your heart turned to stone?" Lin Saint Pua lifted her head, locking eyes with Hong Likqi, but he quickly averted his gaze.
"There’s nothing to apologize for; I even spared his life once. He won't die; perhaps he is training somewhere right now!" After saying this, Hong Likqi's eyes darted around, but inside he thought, "He has long since died..."
"Hong, I have something to tell you!" Lin Saint Pua raised the Holy Pearl high, her four delicate fingers gripping it tightly.
Hong Likqi raised his head and asked, "What is it?"
"It's about your mother." As soon as Lin Saint Pua spoke those words, Hong Likqi's expression changed rapidly; he was struggling internally. His mother? How enticing that sounded!
"About my mother? Father said she died long ago; what more is there to say?" Hong Likqi lowered his head, sorrow overwhelming his thoughts. Since he could remember, apart from the mural, he had no recollection of his mother's true face. But intuition told him that the boy in the mural was himself. "Perhaps Father had his reasons," he thought, and soon his face returned to its icy coldness.
"You and the captain are half-brothers!" Lin Saint Pua pronounced each word clearly.
As soon as she finished speaking, Hong Likqi froze in place. No wonder he resembled his mother so much! But why had Father never mentioned this? He felt a throbbing pain in his head.
"Nonsense! Don’t mention your captain; he wouldn’t even know if he were dead..." Hong Likqi's face began to twist slowly into a terrifying grimace. His eyes turned green as his body started to swell. Realizing he was losing control, he forced himself to calm down and retracted his form.
"If you don’t believe me, ask your father..." But before Lin Saint Pua could finish her sentence, a purple orb of light enveloped her.
The glow of the Holy Pearl dimmed and merged into her skin. Lin Saint Pua felt the energy within her being sealed off; her limbs lost all strength, and she slumped down...
"I told you! Come with me obediently!!" Hong Likqi's face quickly returned to its cold indifference.
Lin Saint Pua leaned on her right hand, her eyes filled with resentment as she glared at Hong.
And beneath the ground...
Yu Tian set aside "Little Ru" and focused his energy on the Dimensional Space. Using "Little Ru's" method, he quickly mastered the rules of usage.
He placed the Divine Canon into the Dimensional Space and walked slowly toward his father's remains. His first decision was clear: to bury his father.
He lifted his father's bones and laid them gently on the ground.
Suddenly, Yu Tian heard a sound, as if many people were falling one after another. He looked up and gradually saw some shadows appearing, which soon descended. Counting them, there were ten hidden figures, their outlines only vaguely discernible.
They landed together and knelt before his father's remains.
"Who are you...?" Yu Tian asked them in confusion. He knew that anyone who could enter the Dream Barrier must be quite powerful, but they might have been sent by Hong Likqi to silence him, so Yu Tian remained on guard.
"We are the Divine Guard from back when the previous God of Black Holes was in power. The current God of Black Holes sent us to protect you!" A hint of joy mingled with Yu Tian's sorrow; he realized he was not alone after all.
"How did you get in?" Yu Tian was even more puzzled. He struggled to exit the barrier, yet they seemed to have entered with ease.
"We have undergone formless training; we are now without form, body, or life. Yet we live in the void; things that exist in space are nothing to us!" Yu Tian listened, somewhat bewildered but grasped some understanding.
"You really were sent to protect me. Why didn't you tell me sooner?" The group stood up together, their forms fading away. He hurriedly called out, "What should I do?"
"God of Black Holes, you will find a way out. Our time here is limited. We will protect you from the shadows!" In truth, they were still waiting in the dark; they too were trapped but had to say this due to a grand deception involving Heavenly Kadar. They simply used earth escape techniques to distance themselves from Yu Tian, fearing he would discover them; everything related would be addressed later.
Yu Tian lowered his head again, pondering what he should do next.
They were the ones who helped him defeat the Poison Dragon—Longsheng's people—and suddenly Yu Tian felt somewhat inadequate; it turned out there were those secretly protecting him.
The surroundings fell silent once more, and a sense of melancholy washed over him.
His father's remains lay quietly before him. Why? Yu Tian gazed into the darkness and questioned the earth.
Past, present, future—
Due to the excitement in his heart taking over, he quickly pulled himself out of his sorrow. He soon realized that he could not continue to sink into despair; to fulfill his mission, he had to go out and become strong, rather than remain buried underground crying.
"Heavenly Strike!" Yu Tian pointed his hand at the ground, and a ball of energy shot out.
With a whoosh and a bang, dirt flew everywhere as he expanded the protective barrier of the Crystal Garment several times, covering his father's remains as well.
Once the air settled, a large pit appeared on the ground. Using an energy halo, he placed his father's bones inside the pit and slowly began to cover them with earth.
"Father, I will not let you down! One day, I will bring you out," he stood up and added a protective barrier over his father's grave.
"May you rest in peace!" Turning around, he took out the Divine Soul Pearl. His father's last words in the Divine Canon told him that this pearl could break the barrier. However, once used, it would disappear. This meant that his father's soul would shatter.
The moment his hand touched the Divine Soul Pearl again, a stream of energy flowed into his body.
His father's image slowly appeared, just like the transparent figure he had seen in the Pyramid building, but this time it was more real and clearer. His heart trembled; how he missed him!
"Son, I know it's you, right? I predicted you would come here. I was useless; you must be strong and strive to surpass me. Your mission is great and complex; I hope you do not lose heart. I will always be with you...!"
Yu Tian's heart gradually grew heavy again as the pain surged back into his body, leaving him with only despair, loneliness, and tears.
