Coulson—
As soon as Big Boy heard that voice, he immediately thought of the junked car. But when he turned around, he saw a man towering over two meters tall, much taller than himself!
"Hello, I'm Steve Rogers!" the man introduced himself, extending his hand with a friendly smile.
He had done some research and knew that the Big Boy in front of him was the recently famous Spider-Man, a very righteous guy.
"Hello!" Peter stammered as he shook Steve's hand. He felt strange; this unfamiliar man seemed oddly familiar, but he couldn't quite place his identity.
"Peter… this is your idol, Captain America!" Coulson quickly explained when he noticed Peter looking dazed. After all, he was also a huge fan of Steve.
"Uh? Uh, uh? Captain America? No way! This guy looks like he's only in his twenties!" Peter was skeptical. Even if he believed it now, he still couldn't accept it outright.
A man who looked more handsome than him appearing as his grandfather… no, his grandfather's generation! How could he believe that? Besides, Captain America was his former idol; now Peter's idol was the Goddess of Luck!
Ever since becoming a fan of the Goddess of Luck, Peter found that his luck had suddenly improved!
Steve's smile became somewhat stiff as he scratched his head, unsure of what to do!
"Peter, this is indeed Captain America. His youthful appearance is because he was frozen for seventy years and just thawed out recently! So he looks young; it's just like Natasha! People age but their faces don't!" Tony interjected with a smirk, thinking that arranging for a spy would go unnoticed. With J.A.R.V.I.S. at hand, what secrets could S.H.I.E.L.D. possibly have?
"Mr. Tony, please mind your words. Captain Steve has connections with your father!" Coulson was not pleased. What did it mean to be thawed out? It wasn't like pulling meat from a freezer!
Tony turned his head slightly, his gaze falling on the filled shipping container.
According to J.A.R.V.I.S.'s calculations, if he finished the tomatoes inside, all the heavy metal viruses in his body would disappear completely.
"By the way? Has the sir returned?" Coulson shifted the topic, discussing the matter at hand.
"He just got back not long ago, currently at the villa!" Peter opened his mouth, and as Steve leaned in to listen, he suddenly slammed the container shut, leaving the old boy feeling quite frustrated. Wasn't it just curiosity? Why the need to watch him like a foe?
As Coulson approached the villa's front door, ready to ring the bell, a delicate figure appeared before him, expressionless and cold: "My master is resting. If you have something to say, you can tell me, and I will pass it on when he wakes up!"
S.H.I.E.L.D. had backups of everything related to Chen Fan, and Coulson recognized the girl in front of him. He smiled and said, "007, I have important matters to convey to the sir. When will he wake up?"
"I don't know!" 007 replied bluntly.
"Uh!" Coulson immediately lost his temper, opening his mouth: "Then... when he wakes up, please let him know that matters regarding the other world have been exposed. Now all forces around the globe are focused on that place!"
Since the other world was Chen Fan's first discovery aside from vampires, Foreign Powers dared not immediately investigate it without his consent.
After all—
What had just happened left countries around the world trembling!
In a world driven by technological advancement, which country wouldn't fear an Electromagnetic Pulse landing on their territory? That would be a devastating force that could revert an entire region's technology back to square one in an instant!
"I will pass it on!" 007 said before disappearing from the doorway.
Such a cold conversation left Coulson feeling somewhat stifled; his eloquence was of no use in front of 007.
After feeling gloomy for a moment, he turned to Peter, who was intently watching the container. He smiled and said, "Peter, it seems you've wrecked my car! According to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s estimates, you owe me one hundred sixty thousand US dollars. But since I'm not making you pay now, how about giving me an apple instead?"
"Heh!" Peter scoffed. "Coulson, that car was damaged by the Lizard Monster. Stark can vouch for me—don't try to pull that on me! Want an apple? No way!"
"Big Boy," he sneered, reaching out as if to grab an apple.
There was no such thing as a free lunch in this world. The fruits and vegetables here were not only delicious to the point of bewilderment but also enhanced physical abilities and amplified powers. If these were bought for mutants, even a single tomato could fetch a high price!
"Coulson, isn't there still some on that tree?" Steve pointed to the Apple Tree at the top of the mountain, where a dozen or so apples still hung from the trunk.
Peter continued to smirk; those apples were off-limits. If they could be picked, they wouldn't still be on the tree.
"Those probably can't be picked!" Coulson understood the situation.
He knew Peter's personality well enough to realize that when faced with such an opportunity, Peter would never let it slip away. The ones that could be picked had likely already been taken by the two of them, leaving only those that were forbidden.
Coulson's mention of the car was just a joke; he wasn't upset with Peter over the car's damage, far from it. After all, a broken car could be replaced!
"Then how about giving me a tomato?" Coulson took a step back.
"Not happening!" Tony's expression turned cold, his gaze sharp as he shot him a fierce look. Wanting a tomato? That was practically asking for his life!
No one knew if eating too many would lead to resistance. Until it was confirmed that the heavy metal virus had disappeared, Tony would never allow even a single tomato to slip away.
Coulson was taken aback by Tony's intensity; it made him realize just how extraordinary these fruits and vegetables were. Otherwise, Tony and Peter wouldn't be so protective of them.
"What about that corn...?" Coulson looked over at it. It was enormous and impressive; one ear of corn was comparable in size to a truck.
Even though he knew the chances were slim, he still tentatively inquired.
"That's reserved for the Tentacle Monster!" Peter clicked his tongue; the few fruits and vegetables on the mountain had already been claimed.
"Chinese cabbage?"
"That's what Silphy wants!"
"How about radishes?"
"Those have already been given to Rob by 007!"
"What else is there?"
"Nothing at all!" Peter laughed heartily, finding it quite amusing to see Coulson at a loss.
In the end, Coulson could only gather some plant vines and leaf veins, along with a few broken apples and tomatoes to take with him.
— All of these have research value!
Watching the tall and short duo leave, Tony couldn't help but curl his lips into a knowing smile. He had long analyzed the reasons behind these vegetable mutations; this kind of change was completely impossible to replicate!
