Zhao Jun and Tang Hao'er searched through the mountains for a while. Finally, they discovered the bodies of the two guys who had fallen from the plane. It was quite unfortunate for them; one had landed directly on a rock and was smashed to pieces, while the other had a branch pierced through his neck, long since dead. 0

Zhao Jun kept Tang Hao'er at a distance and began to gather all the equipment from the two bandits, even stripping off their camouflage uniforms. 0

There was no time to waste; these items were crucial for Zhao Jun and his team, at least enough to ensure that Su Mei would no longer be exposed. 0

After some effort, Zhao Jun used a pair of camouflage pants to tie up the legs and stuffed everything inside, securing it around his waist. He returned to Tang Hao'er with three rifles slung over his back and handed her a pistol along with its holster. "Keep this for self-defense." 0

Tang Hao'er took the pistol, skillfully drawing it out to examine before sliding it back into the holster and attaching it to her belt. 0

Zhao Jun watched her adept movements, puzzled. "Hao'er, how come you're so familiar with firearms?" 0

Tang Hao'er replied proudly, "What's so surprising about that? My grandfather often took me hunting, and sometimes my older brothers brought me to the shooting range. I shot my first gun when I was three." 0

"Three?!" Zhao Jun was taken aback. At that age, most kids barely understood anything. Tang Hao'er's family must have been quite bold to let her handle guns at such a young age. 0

Tang Hao'er giggled. "You bet! That time my grandfather really scared them all. Their expressions must have been priceless, but unfortunately, I don't remember any of it..." 0

Zhao Jun felt a headache coming on just thinking about it. Just as he was about to say something, his expression suddenly changed. He quickly pulled Tang Hao'er aside into a nearby thicket. 0

Tang Hao'er also heard the sound of rocks tumbling from not far away. She swiftly raised her gun and aimed in that direction. 0

Before long, they could hear hurried footsteps approaching. Zhao Jun and Tang Hao'er held their breath, their guns trained on the source of the noise. 0

At that moment, several figures began to emerge faintly; they were heading in the same direction where the two bandits had fallen from the helicopter. 0

Could it be that the bandits were coming to look for their fallen comrades? 0

Tang Hao'er and Zhao Jun slowly adjusted their aim, quietly locking onto two figures—one in front and one behind. 0

At that moment, a shadow at the front stumbled over a corpse and suddenly fell to the ground, letting out a sharp scream. 0

Tang Hao'er did not hesitate to pull the trigger, while Zhao Jun hurriedly shouted, "Wait!" and reached out to push Tang Hao'er's AUG away. 0

With a "bang," a bullet was fired and struck a nearby tree trunk. 0

Hearing the gunshot, the figures on the ground quickly flattened themselves. 0

Tang Hao'er also realized what was happening and, wide-eyed, whispered, "Why is it a woman?" 0

Zhao Jun casually responded with an "uh-huh," squinting as he aimed through the sight at the few shadows lying on the ground in the distance. He called out in a low voice, "Who are you?" 0

The people on the ground were startled for a moment. One of them nervously shouted back toward Zhao Jun's direction, "Who are you?" 0

Zhao Jun raised an eyebrow and shouted back at them, "I escaped from over there. What about you?" 0

From that person's response, Zhao Jun had roughly guessed their identities. If they were here searching for him or the two bandits from the crash site, they would not be asking who Zhao Jun was. 0

Upon hearing Zhao Jun's reply that he had escaped from inside, the group of people immediately relaxed. Some even began to get up from the ground. The person who had spoken to Zhao Jun shouted in his direction, "Don't shoot! We also escaped from inside. We are Singaporeans; which country are you from?" 0

Tang Hao'er breathed a sigh of relief and sheepishly smiled. She had almost shot these people by mistake earlier, but thankfully Zhao Jun had stopped her in time; otherwise, it could have ended in disaster. 0

Zhao Jun gently patted Tang Hao'er, who was about to get up, and whispered, "Stay put here." 0

During their conversation, the Singaporeans referred to Zhao Jun as "you" instead of "you all," possibly thinking he was alone. By keeping Tang Hao'er hidden and still, Zhao Jun was also leaving himself an escape route. In this life-and-death crisis on the island, it was wise to remain cautious. 0

Zhao Jun untied the camouflage bundle at his waist and placed it beside Tang Hao'er. He then stood up with a rifle in hand and walked toward the group of people, saying, "I am Mainland Chinese. To avoid any misunderstandings, you’d better show me your hands." 0

Several Singaporeans understood Zhao Jun's meaning. The first person to respond turned to the others behind him and said, "Everyone, raise your hands so that our Chinese friends don't misunderstand." 0

The speaker had already raised his hands and stood up to greet Zhao Jun, who was stepping out of the darkness. He surprisingly spoke in Chinese, saying, "Friend, please don’t shoot. We mean no harm. If it weren't for your Chinese friends releasing us, we would still be trapped in the cells below. We are very grateful to our Chinese friends." 0

Zhao Jun paused for a moment before asking, "It was the Mainland Chinese who let you out? Where are they?" 0

The man shook his head and replied, "I don’t know. It was too chaotic earlier; everyone was running out and scattered. There were a total of seventeen Singaporeans lured here, and now only five of us are together. We have no idea if the others managed to escape." 0

One person behind him added, "I saw several Mainland Chinese running towards the seaside. One of them was the one who helped us open the old cell door; I recognized him." 0

The first speaker extended his hand toward Zhao Jun, saying, "Hello, I am Mei Xiangyang from Singapore." 0

Another person behind Mei Xiangyang eagerly added, "Young Master Mei is the son of Mr. Mei, the president of Pus Group, and the legal heir of Pus Group." 0

Pus Group? 0

Zhao Jun carefully examined Mei Xiangyang before reaching out to shake hands with the legal heir of Singapore's only Fortune 500 company. He introduced himself simply: "Zhao Jun from Southeast City, China." 0

After shaking hands, there seemed to be a bit more familiarity. Mei Xiangyang glanced at the assault rifle that Zhao Jun held and then at the naked corpse lying at their feet. With some apprehension, he asked, "Did you kill this person? Who was he?" 0

The corpse was stripped bare, making it impossible to identify who it was. Mei Xiangyang and the others felt a sense of fear towards Zhao Jun for having killed someone. If this person had also escaped from the hands of bandits, then Zhao Jun became even more terrifying to them. 0
