As Charlie and the others returned, the bandits quickly regained control of the situation. The hostages who had not managed to escape from the Bandit Nest were once again under the bandits' control.
The Bandit Nest was in chaos, and Charlie roared like a wounded beast.
Charlie demanded to know where Shen Kun was and why these weak hostages had suddenly revolted.
The remaining bandits in the Bandit Nest had nothing good to say about Shen Kun. Some claimed that Shen Kun had colluded with the hostages to stage a rebellion, that it was Shen Kun who ordered them to gather, and it was Yang Bing, who had come out with Shen Kun, who shot at them, resulting in at least ten casualties.
"Where is Shen Kun? Bring him out here!" Charlie bellowed, issuing his command.
Two bandits dragged the bloodied Shen Kun before Charlie and unceremoniously threw him onto the ground.
Shen Kun groaned in pain and weakly reached out to Charlie. "Charlie, help me. I'm hurt."
Charlie kicked Shen Kun over with his foot. The wound on Shen Kun's abdomen was oozing blood, soaking through his clothes.
With a dark expression, Charlie pressed his foot down on Shen Kun's chest and asked, "Shen, tell me what happened?"
Shen Kun struggled to swallow and looked at Charlie pleadingly. "Charlie, please arrange for someone to bandage my wound. I'm going to die."
"Damn it, you caused me to lose over ten men. If you want to die, then just die!" Charlie kicked Shen Kun hard and turned to the monkey, barking orders. "Go count how many hostages we still have left. Damn it, you can't even manage a flock of sheep; you're useless."
Charlie's insult was clearly directed at Shen Kun, who lay in a pool of blood. Shen Kun shot a resentful glance at Charlie before laboriously moving aside to lean against a tree and began tearing his own clothes with his teeth to bandage his wound.
In this gang, there were no eternal friendships—only eternal interests. When you were useful, you were like a god; when you were no longer useful, you would quickly become trash.
Charlie glared at Shen Kun as he bandaged himself and snorted angrily as he strode away with his gun in hand.
The bandits followed behind Charlie, cursing as they walked. Some even kicked Shen Kun as they passed by.
Shen Kun's face turned as dark as soot. He knew that even if he miraculously survived this time, he would have no standing left in this group. In fact, he could be killed by any bandit on a whim; such things were all too common in their gang.
Shen Kun struggled to bandage his wounds, leaning against a large tree as he slowly stood up.
At that moment, a yellow-skinned thug approached him, gun in hand, shaking his head. "Shen, what you did today was despicable. You sold us all out. If I were Charlie, I'd shoot you right now..."
This guy only said that if he were Charlie, he would shoot Shen Kun immediately, but he had already secretly shot Shen Kun during the chaos earlier.
Shen Kun grabbed the thug's arm and whispered, "Pu, do you want money?"
The thug, referred to as Pu, laughed heartily. "Of course I want money. What’s it to you?"
Shen Kun pulled on Pu's arm and nodded vigorously. "Pu, all the money we got from the hostages is with me. Are you willing to split it with me?"
Pu's eyes lit up as he leaned closer to Shen Kun and asked quietly, "How do we split it?"
A sinister smile crept across Shen Kun's face. "Charlie has wronged me, so I won't hesitate to wrong him in return. You go to my room and bring the computer over; we’ll take Transgender’s helicopter and leave this place. Damn it, I have over three hundred million dollars right now. Once we leave, we can each take a hundred million—more than what we’d get after this whole mess."
Pu's eyes brightened even more. He patted Shen Kun on the back and said softly, "Wait here; I'll go get the computer."
Shen Kun grimaced in pain but urged Pu, "Hurry up; don’t let anyone find out."
With a grin, Pu dashed towards Shen Kun's room. In no time at all, he returned with Shen Kun's laptop, looking around nervously.
As Shen Kun reached out for the laptop, Pu quickly hid it behind his back and smiled at him. "Shen, it's not that I don't trust you; it's just better if I keep this safe."
Shen Kun forced a smile and withdrew his hand to clutch his wounded abdomen. "Let’s go; help me to the helicopter. If Transgender doesn’t agree to our terms, we’ll take him out."
Pu chuckled as he supported Shen Kun. "Transgender isn’t an idiot; why wouldn’t he agree?"
Meanwhile, Charlie was checking each room with a group of thugs to see how many hostages were still under their control when the roar of a helicopter engine echoed from the front.
Charlie frowned and ordered the thug beside him, "Go see what Transgender is doing. Damn it, doesn’t he know our fuel is limited? Tell him to shut off the engine."
The thug turned and walked forward, cursing as he rounded the corner and spotted the helicopter. "Transgender, what the hell are you doing? Boss told you to shut down the engine!"
As soon as the thug's curse left his lips, a barrage of bullets rained down from the helicopter. He didn't even have time to react before he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Hearing the gunfire ahead, Charlie, who had just entered a room, quickly stepped back out and shouted to the thugs following him, "Go check what's going on!"
The thugs surged forward, but by then, the helicopter had already roared to life and taken off. Shen Kun, laughing heartily from the cabin, called out to the pursuing Charlie, "Charlie, I've taken the money! You guys can just stay on the island and wait to die! Hahaha..."
Furious, Charlie raised his gun and unleashed a volley of shots at the helicopter. The other thugs, hearing that Shen Kun had made off with the money, were instantly filled with rage and began firing wildly at the helicopter.
Transgender laughed as he adjusted the joystick, causing the helicopter to tilt slightly. The armored bottom of the cabin deflected the incoming bullets as they boldly flew over the sea.
"Damn it! Damn it!"
The thugs chased after the helicopter like madmen, firing their weapons frantically. Sparks flew from the helicopter as bullets struck it, but in an instant, it was out of range and soaring toward the open ocean.
Charlie jumped up and down in frustration, cursing Shen Kun while his rifle continued to vent his anger at the retreating helicopter.
This time, Charlie had followed Shen Kun's plan for this job. He had staked all his years of savings on it—registering companies in multiple countries and spending heavily to acquire two transport helicopters through arms channels.
One helicopter had been shot down by Zhao Jun's scheme, and now this lone remaining one had become Shen Kun's escape vehicle. To make matters worse, Shen Kun had also made off with money extorted from those two victims. Charlie felt like he could eat Shen Kun's heart alive right now, but what could he do besides venting his frustration?
