"Bang, bang," two gunshots rang out almost simultaneously. A bandit leaning against the window of the Watchtower fell to the ground, while another searchlight on a different Watchtower was shattered by a bullet, plunging it into darkness. 0

"Good shooting," Zhao Jun couldn't help but exclaim softly, firing another shot that echoed through the darkened Watchtower, followed by a scream. 0

Tang Hao'er, with a stern expression, fired again. The bandit who had just been shot down in the Watchtower jumped up momentarily before collapsing back to the ground, his fate uncertain. 0

Zhao Jun aimed his gun at another Watchtower, shooting just above the turning searchlight. With the gunfire, the searchlight swung wildly, illuminating a bandit leaning against the wall, blood streaming from his forehead as he slowly slid down. 0

Without hesitation, Zhao Jun quickly adjusted his aim toward another Watchtower's searchlight. 0

"Bang, bang," the rapid-fire sound of an AK and the crisp report of an AUG echoed almost in unison. 0

"Don't steal my kills; shoot your own," Tang Hao'er shouted with a serious face after firing a shot, then quickly fired again, extinguishing that searchlight. 0

Steal kills? 0

Zhao Jun felt a wave of frustration and hurriedly redirected his aim back to the Watchtower they had agreed upon. He fired again, shattering the already illuminated searchlight. 0

The attack came too suddenly. The bandits in the Bandit Nest hadn’t reacted yet when all four searchlights on the corners of the Watchtowers were destroyed. Finally, they managed to pinpoint Zhao Jun and Tang Hao'er’s locations amidst the gunfire and began their counterattack. 0

Charlie, who had been sound asleep after drinking, jumped out of bed at the sound of gunfire. Grabbing the automatic rifle standing beside his bed while still in his boxers, he rushed out of his room and grabbed a passing bandit, demanding loudly, "What’s going on?" 0

"I don’t know; all four Watchtowers are under attack," the panicked bandit replied to Charlie. 0

Charlie pushed the bandit away forcefully and sprinted toward the nearest Watchtower. 0

Seeing that all four searchlights on the Watchtowers had been destroyed, Zhao Jun quickly got up and pulled Tang Hao'er by the arm. "Let’s go." 0

Tang Hao'er grunted and got up, quickly following Zhao Jun as they ran deeper into the forest. Behind them, sporadic gunfire continued to erupt in the direction of their earlier ambush, but the bullets landed far from their position. 0

Charlie rushed up the Watchtower but saw no signs of gunfire from outside. He shouted at the bandits who were randomly shooting into the woods, then hurried down from the Watchtower and ran towards the helicopter parked in the front yard, calling for the bandit piloting it to come over immediately. 0

Shen Kun, disheveled and holding a handgun, burst out of a room. Upon seeing Charlie running, he quickly followed and shouted, “Boss, what’s going on?” 0

“Damn it, we’ve been ambushed!” Charlie yelled back at Shen Kun with urgency. 0

Shen Kun hurried to catch up with Charlie, panting as he asked, “Who ambushed us? They shouldn’t have been able to locate us so quickly.” 0

“Who? It must be those little bastards who escaped. They’re hiding in the shadows and shooting at us. If it were the military attacking us, they wouldn’t make such a ruckus. You stay here and keep watch; I’m going to catch them. I swear I’ll make them pay.” 0

Shen Kun couldn’t help but grin slightly. Did those five dare to come back and ambush them? Surely not? 0

Earlier that day, Shen Kun had taken over a dozen men and practically searched the entire island without finding any trace of those five escapees. He even suspected that Zhao Jun and the others had built a raft and fled. 0

This place was far from any continent or inhabited island; escaping on a raft was essentially a death wish. Shen Kun only regretted the hefty ransom for Cheng Zhengxiong and Tang Hao'er. 0

The helicopter roared to life, its searchlight illuminating the area as it circled around Bandit Nest before heading straight towards a nearby mountain peak. 0

Yang Bing leaned against the window bars, intently watching the helicopter fly away. After a moment of silence, he quietly turned and returned to his bed, pulling out a nail from his palm and continuing to pry open the cracks in the wall. 0

The bandits had searched through everything in the house, taking all items with them. The nail had originally been used to hang curtains on the wall; now that the curtains were gone, it had been overlooked by the bandits. This nail had become Yang Bing's tool for escape. After spending quite some time on it, he had pried open five brick seams; if he could manage two more, he would be able to break through the wall. 0

In his hand was also a mini pistol left to him by Cheng Zhengxiong. He was confident that with that pistol, he could seize a usable weapon from the bandits and escape. 0

The chaos outside was certainly caused by Zhao Jun and his group; unfortunately, they had arrived just a bit too early. If they had only been two minutes later, he could have made a hole in the wall during the commotion and slipped away unnoticed. 0

Yang Bing quickened his digging speed. Just then, a beam of flashlight swept in through the window. Yang Bing hurriedly stopped his movements, lying still and pretending to be sound asleep. 0

Shen Kun stood outside the window, shining his flashlight on Yang Bing for a moment before withdrawing his gaze and walking directly to the next "cell." 0

Seeing the flashlight move away, Yang Bing quickly resumed his activity. Clumps of lime dust fell from the wall crevices, landing on the blanket he had deliberately spread out by the wall. 0

By now, he had already scraped out quite a bit of lime dust from the wall. While moving around the room, he evenly scattered the dust across the floor, ensuring that the bandits would only think it was dust from the room and not suspect that Yang Bing was trying to escape. 0

Shen Kun approached the window of the second "cell," where Ye Tong and Fang Jia Shen, along with several others, were huddled together peering outside. Upon seeing Shen Kun approach, they quickly recoiled in fear. 0

Shen Kun shone his flashlight on Ye Tong and the others' faces, sneering slightly. 0

The people locked up in this "cell" were all hostages who had already paid their ransom. They held little value for him now. However, after extorting them once, he could potentially squeeze more money out of them again. Since their families had so readily handed over cash, they likely still had some hidden potential to exploit. 0

As Shen Kun withdrew his gaze from the cowering Ye Tong and prepared to walk toward the third "cell," he suddenly paused in surprise. 0

Something was off; with such a commotion outside, even someone as cowardly as Ye Tong had come to check at the window. How could Yang Bing be sleeping like a dead pig without any reaction? 0

No, something was wrong. 0

Shen Kun swiftly turned around and strode back to Yang Bing's window, shining his flashlight onto Yang Bing's bed. 0
