Chapter 55: The Public Ruins
Another Sister Nine appeared beside Xia Zhou, who patted the shoulders of the two Sister Nines and said, "Calm down."
Ji Zichen looked at Samoyan and took the initiative to strike. Although Ji Zichen made the first move, no one else followed. Ji Zichen used two Water Ropes to wrap around Samoyan's ankles. Upon seeing the Water Ropes approaching, Samoyan sneered, "Here we go again!"

Inside Dong Qin's house, Ji Zichen sat comfortably as Lin Chuyu said with a smile, "That's great! The peace has returned here."

Sister Nine forced a smile but remained silent.
Ji Zichen seized the opportunity to ask, "Sister Nine, do you know if there are any ruins at Tide Mountain?"
Dong Qin shot Ji Zichen a glance and said, "Brother Ji, she is Congxue, not Sister Nine."
Ji Zichen understood the implication and apologized, "I misspoke. It's Congxue. Miss Tang, do you know if there are any ruins at Tide Mountain?"
Tang Congxue replied, "Ruins? I haven't heard of any, but I did hear from someone at Purgatory Palace that strange things happened near Yangquan Cliff."
Ji Zichen perked up at this. "What kind of strange things?"
Tang Congxue continued, "I heard from the patrollers that it was about two or three years ago. They saw a person with bright red hair sneaking around west of Yangquan Cliff."
"Bright red hair?" Ji Zichen thought excitedly, "That must be the Fire Lion."
Ji Zichen asked, "What was that person doing sneaking around?"
Tang Congxue explained, "There’s a rocky slope west of Yangquan Cliff, covered in stones with nothing else around. That red-haired person spent several days just staring at the stones and mumbling to himself like a madman."
They didn’t understand the Fire Lion, but Ji Zichen and Yu Ren certainly did. How could the Fire Lion be a madman? It must be related to the ruins.
As they chatted, Ji Zichen and the others set off from the village toward the rocky slope. The environment here was just as Tang Congxue had described—strewn with rocks. Some of the boulders towered high, forming cliffs. After circling around for a while, Xia Zhou wiped the sweat from his brow and said, "Why is there not even a cave here?"
Lin Chuyu asked, "Brother Xia, what do you need a cave for?"
"You're asking about the entrance to the ruins," Xia Zhou said.
"I think the entrance wouldn't be that obvious; otherwise, the locals would have discovered it long ago," Ji Zichen replied.
Xia Zhou nodded. "You have a point, but what should we do now?"
"I don't know either," Ji Zichen shook her head. "But wandering around here aimlessly is a waste of effort. Let's find a high spot to survey the entire area before making any plans."
Behind them was a High Slope. Lin Chuyu pointed at it and said, "Brother Ji, what do you think about that slope?"
Ji Zichen looked at the height and nodded. "Yes, let's go take a look."
However, just as they took a couple of steps, Ji Zichen's Demon-Slaying Sword began to tremble on its own. Furrowing her brow, she said, "That's strange. Why is the Demon-Slaying Sword acting like this?"
The other two were equally astonished. Ji Zichen took the sword in her hand and asked it, "Do you have something to tell me?"
Of course, the Demon-Slaying Sword had no mouth and couldn't respond to her. Xia Zhou chuckled, "You're getting anxious; can this sword really answer you?"
Just as Ji Zichen was about to sheath the sword again, she noticed that the sword seemed to be drawn by some force, pointing its tip toward a rock wall on the right. Lin Chuyu exclaimed, "Huh? Is this sword trying to lead you there?"
Xia Zhou looked in the direction indicated by the Demon-Slaying Sword; it was merely another rocky wall. Ji Zichen immediately said, "Let's go check it out."
They approached the wall pointed out by the Demon-Slaying Sword. When the sword's tip touched the rock wall, a rumbling sound echoed, revealing a large opening. Xia Zhou gasped in surprise, "A hole has appeared!"
As they entered the cave, they saw a large Vortex Barrier in the center. Ji Zichen recalled what the Fire Lion had said and warned, "Don't get too close to the Barrier. But how did that Fire Lion get in here?"
Xia Zhou understood Ji Zichen's meaning; they had been guided to the cave entrance by the Demon-Slaying Sword. But what had allowed the Fire Lion to enter? The Fire Lion was already gone, and that answer could no longer be pursued.
As soon as the Demon-Slaying Sword saw the Vortex, it trembled violently. It seemed to be drawn by the Vortex, shooting swiftly toward its center. When the Demon-Slaying Sword pierced the Vortex, the large barrier suddenly dissipated, revealing a tall stone door behind it.
The sword was embedded just below the stone door. The three exchanged glances and nodded before stepping forward. Ji Zichen pulled out the Demon-Slaying Sword, and Xia Zhou glanced at the stone door, noticing sword marks on it. Xia Zhou remarked, "Hey? These sword marks look a lot like yours."
Ji Zichen looked where Xia Zhou pointed and indeed saw similar sword marks on the door. Xia Zhou continued, "Look, there are no gaps on this door. Why don't you try placing your sword here?"
Ji Zichen was puzzled as to why there were such sword marks on the door, but with no other options available, he placed his sword against it. Slowly, the stone door began to open.
Inside was a vast space filled with countless glittering jewels and vessels. The three of them were overjoyed upon seeing this. "We found it! This is the ruins!"
Afterward, Ji Zichen consumed Divine Tears to heal his eyesight. Then he followed through with his earlier plan: first revealing the ruins publicly and ultimately destroying them.
This act naturally enraged those with red eyes. Ji Zichen had already coordinated with Kai Zhou Shen; when he used Xia Zhou's Eight Desolation Needles to blow up the ruins, Kai Zhou Shen had already opened a rift for him to escape.
From that moment on, no one ever saw Ji Zichen, Xia Zhou, or Lin Chuyu again.
Perhaps they had returned to Zhuque Chenjing to live a peaceful life once more.
