Although the village chief was not an expert in poisoning, seeing Tang Dagang's face turn black and lifeless, it was clear that he had been poisoned by something lethal. It was evident to anyone with eyes that Samoyan was behind this. The village chief stood frozen, staring at Tang Dagang's corpse, the words "If we do not resist, we have no way to live" echoed like thunder in his mind. 0

Tang Congxue, witnessing Tang Dagang's demise, felt a sudden chill and was momentarily stunned by shock. As she regained her senses, she felt a wave of cold wash over her, and finally cried out to the heavens, "Father!" The cold-hearted Samoyan suddenly sneered, "Hahaha, I told you that you were not worthy to fight me!" After laughing, he glared at the villagers with a fierce gaze, his brows furrowing into a straight line. "Do you understand now? Those who overestimate themselves and attempt to resist meet this fate!" No one among the villagers questioned his words; their faces turned pale as if the village chief had aged ten years in an instant. He gritted his teeth but remained silent. 0

Samoyan's dark eyes fell on Tang Congxue as he wickedly pointed at her. "Come on, take that girl back to Purgatory Palace!" The village chief immediately stepped forward and bowed his head. "Samoyan, I beg you not to take Congxue away." But one of Samoyan's subordinates had no intention of listening to the village chief. They seized Tang Congxue from Big Qi's arms. Startled and frightened, she cried out uncontrollably, "Let go of me! I don’t want to go with you!" 0

Seeing his pleas were in vain, the village chief suddenly jumped up from the ground and rushed forward to grab Tang Congxue, pleading, "Wait! Samoyan, she's just a child! Why are you taking her?" With only the village chief standing up for her in the entire village, Tang Congxue clung desperately to him like a lifeline, stretching out her small arms toward him and crying out in fear, "Village Chief, save me!" Hearing her cries for help sent the village chief's heart into turmoil. "Congxue, don’t be afraid! I will..." Before he could finish his sentence, one of Purgatory Palace's subordinates glared at him and shouted angrily, "Shut up!" 0

With a kick aimed at the village chief's abdomen, he stumbled back several steps and fell to the ground. The subordinate then approached with a vicious look and stomped down on the village chief's right leg with a sickening crack. The village chief let out a heart-wrenching scream. 0

"Village Chief!" The villagers gasped in unison but none dared to step forward. 0

Lin Chuyu listened with her face twitching in anger. "Those people are despicable! What happened next?" Xia Zhou replied, "Nothing much after that. For the first few years Sister Nine would occasionally return to the village, but then she stopped." Lin Chuyu asked curiously, "How could she come back after being captured?" Xia Zhou said, "Yes. I don't know why they took her back either, but I suspect Samoyan wanted to torment Sister Nine psychologically." Ji Zichen sighed deeply. "Sister Nine has had it tough; it takes immense strength of character to survive in such an environment. Only she knows the pain she endures." 0

Sister Nine stood nervously by her window, gazing down at Azure Wave Lake below as three large ships sailed toward Yangquan Cliff. Outside her house came shouts of surprise from people saying, "Look! It's Samoyan's ships!" Regardless of whether Sister Nine had grown up or whether she was now human or cat-like in form, in Samoyan's eyes she would always be that same Tang Congxue from years ago. 0

Samoyan stood at the bow of his ship gazing at Yangquan Cliff; his eyes fixated on Sister Nine’s house as he spoke into thin air, “Are you still as stubborn as before?” After a moment’s pause, Samoyan returned to Purgatory Palace where Black Eyes and Old Eight greeted him. “Black Eyes,” Samoyan said with a grin, “you’ve done great work this time.” Black Eyes replied coldly, “Samoyan, Yangquan Cliff is no longer under your control. What are you doing here? Are you trying to steal my achievements?” 0

Samoyan chuckled mischievously. “Black Eyes, you’re overthinking it; I just came to see an old friend.” Old Eight knew exactly who Samoyan meant by “old friend” and glared at him. “Samoyan,” he said angrily, “how long do you plan to torment Sister Nine? Is turning her into a flower cat not enough for you?” 0

Samoyan laughed lightly. “Turn her into a flower cat? You misunderstand me; I’ve given her choices.” Old Eight retorted heatedly, “No choice is worth dying for! What kind of nonsense is that?” 0

Samoyan frowned slightly. “Old Eight? Why are you getting worked up over someone who isn’t even one of us?” Old Eight huffed angrily and said, “I’m done talking to you; I’m going to the kitchen!” He stormed off while Samoyan chuckled softly. “Old Eight hasn’t changed at all.” 0

Black Eyes interjected icily, “I may not have any feelings for Sister Nine but Samoyan, I advise you to know when to stop. I’ve heard about what happened back then; it was just some harsh words from her adoptive father—why hold onto it for so many years?” 0

“Hold onto it?” Samoyan replied with a grin. “I certainly haven’t forgotten; but what haunts me isn’t that adoptive father—it’s Sister Nine’s eyes filled with hatred for me. I just want to test how long someone can hold onto their hatred.” Black Eyes scoffed coldly. “You’re quite pathetic.” With that remark he turned away. 0

Samoyan didn’t care; he watched Black Eyes leave with amusement and said mockingly, “Pathetic? This is quite entertaining for me.” He entered Sister Nine’s room where she stood like a statue staring at Azure Wave Lake outside. Upon seeing her back turned towards him lost in thought, Samoyan chuckled lightly and said, “Congxue, what are you so entranced by?” His voice sounded like a chilling wind from hell. 0

Sister Nine trembled uncontrollably upon hearing him speak. Noticing her slight shiver brought satisfaction to Samoyan as he continued teasingly, “What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy to see me?” Sister Nine maintained a stiff expression and turned around to glare coldly at him. 0

Seeing that familiar hostile gaze again made Samoyan smile wider. “That look again—I don’t understand; if you hate me so much why don’t you try killing me? Back when you were human you didn’t dare lay hands on me; now that you're just a flower cat you have the ability...” Sister Nine interrupted coldly: “Samoyan! Purgatory Palace has rules against private fights; don’t waste your energy trying to provoke me—I won’t fight you! Likewise, you can’t lay hands on me either; I’m part of Purgatory Palace now—if you touch me Black Eyes and Old Eight won’t stand idly by!” 0

Samoyan tilted his head with a smirk. “You’re quite loyal to Purgatory Palace; even remembering their rules so well—good job! It’s worth bringing you back here; shouldn’t you thank me?” 0

Sister Nine retorted icily: “Thank you? Thank you for killing my father!” 0

Samoyan laughed heartily. “Don’t misunderstand—I mean thank me for giving you opportunities to make money! I’ve heard you've amassed quite a fortune these years; you're quite sensible after all! Even though your adoptive father is dead now—regardless of how things went down—he let you stay in Purgatory Palace because of my influence! So technically speaking I'm half your adoptive father—you should hand over your earnings for safekeeping.” 0

Sister Nine could no longer tolerate such insults; fury surged within her! “Black Moth King! Don’t push your luck!” 0

Samoyan chuckled mockingly: “What does a little girl need all that money for? Are you planning on saving up to leave Purgatory Palace? That won’t do—I can’t bear letting go of you; don’t forget your gratitude!” He waved his hand signaling several subordinates who immediately began rummaging through her belongings. 0

“Stop!” Sister Nine shouted furiously as her face turned pale with rage! She flicked her sleeve revealing a cat tail that wrapped around one subordinate’s neck and flung him out the door while glaring fiercely at Samoyan: “Do you really think I wouldn’t dare kill you?” 0

Samoyan arrogantly laughed: “You won’t kill me—you wouldn’t dare kill me! If you did how would you take those villagers away from Tide Mountain?” Suddenly Sister Nine gasped in shock thinking: “How does he know about this?” 0

In disbelief yet forcing herself to remain calm she managed a strained smile: “Why would I want those villagers gone? No one hates those people more than I do!” Gritting her teeth she continued: “You should know best—I was taken away by you on that day when only the village chief reached out his hand towards me among all those villagers! How could I save those who disregarded my life?” 0

Samoyan smiled slowly: “I know how much you hate them—but do you know why after taking you away I still allowed your freedom to come and go from Shangyu Village?” 0

Sister Nine fell silent because this question had plagued her thoughts for years without an answer. 0

Samoyan mocked: “The reason is simple—I want you to remember how shameful those villagers looked when they watched silently as I took you away without daring to speak up! I just want you to understand that your adoptive father died in vain—he died for those people who aren’t worth it.” 0

“I watched you grow up—I understand more about yourself than anyone else does! You don’t want to save those Shangyu people—you want to save only the village chief because he was the only one who helped back then! But if all you're saving is him alone then he wouldn’t leave with just one person—so if you're going to save him you'll have to take everyone else along too.” 0

Raising his right hand Sister Nine suddenly felt darkness clouding her vision as Samoyan seized her neck tightly while saying ominously: “Sister Nine—you trust no one but yourself—so this money must be hidden on your person.” 0

As he reached into Sister Nine’s clothing pulling out thick stacks of silver notes she struggled against his grip gasping for breath until finally losing consciousness as her eyes rolled back. 0

Suddenly laughing Samoyan asked: “What’s wrong? Can’t stand it?” He wasn’t speaking into thin air but addressing someone behind him—Black Eyes stood there watching intently. 0

Turning around Samoyan waved the silver notes before Black Eyes saying cheerfully: “Black Eyes and Old Eight have managed things well here—I never expected someone handling accounts could earn so much money—surely you've earned even more?” 0

Black Eyes shot him an icy glare: “When did Samoyan become a robber breaking into homes?” 0

Laughing heartily Samoyan replied: “Robber? Do you think I want these silver notes?” With another wave of his hand something strange happened—the thick stack of notes transformed into countless flying scraps of paper. 0

Watching them flutter away he remarked: “I don’t want money—I just wanted to see that defeated expression on her face.” 0

When Ji Zichen and his companions returned home they found many villagers gathered around drying grounds where the village chief leaned heavily on his cane shouting loudly: “Those scoundrels from Purgatory Palace are truly outrageous! We can’t let this continue any longer—fellow villagers! Grab your weapons and charge toward Purgatory Palace!” 0

Ji Zichen and Xia Zhou exchanged startled glances asking simultaneously: “What happened?” 0
