Chapter 8 Sand Robe 0

Under the command of the Killer, the other Sand Bandits had no choice but to obey, but discontent brewed among them. Many Sand Bandits thought to themselves, "These people are too formidable; they are nothing like those we encountered before." 0

However, such sentiments only existed in the minds of a portion of the Sand Bandits. Some of them shouted, "Don't be afraid of her! How can we be intimidated by a girl! Even if she is a monster, so what? We've seen plenty of monsters before! The Yellow Sand Gang fears nothing!" 0

Encouraged by some of their comrades, another group of Sand Bandits also convinced themselves, "We have indeed encountered many Demon Beasts; how could we be frightened by this girl?" 0

The Sand Bandits charged forward bravely. Ji Zichen and Xia Zhou leaped to Lin Chuyu's side, and the three stood together against their foes. At that moment, Lin Chuyu realized that her scales could withstand blades and weapons. She began using her hands as weapons, continuously blocking the incoming attacks. Thus, a standoff ensued. 0

One Sand Bandit saw Ji Zichen and the others resisting fiercely and called out, "Stop resisting! Surrender obediently! Killing is our job; how could you possibly fight us!" 0

Xia Zhou held the Eight Desolation Needles like a dagger to fend off the incoming strikes and shouted back, "You want me to surrender? That's a joke! I'm here to train; there's no way I would become a captive. If Ma Tongwei hears about this, he would laugh at me to death! I can't let Ma Tongwei make a fool out of me. Bring your best; let's see who will be laughing in the end!" 0

A Sand Bandit retorted angrily, "What nonsense are you babbling about? Either way, you're dead this time!" 0

At that moment, Xia Zhou seized an opportunity. One Eight Desolation Needle flew from under the armpit of a Sand Bandit who was raising his weapon. Behind this Sand Bandit were six others coming up as reinforcements. Xia Zhou anticipated their approach and threw the Eight Desolation Needle just as they closed in, instantly killing over ten Sand Bandits in that circle. 0

The Killer cursed Xia Zhou for being troublesome and shouted, "Stop that needle thrower! Don't let him attack; otherwise, even with more people, it won't be enough to survive!" 0

Seven Sand Bandits immediately surrounded Xia Zhou, who found no chance to use the Eight Desolation Needles and could only keep retreating. 0

As more and more reinforcements fell one after another, Xia Zhou lamented, "This is such a hassle; why won’t they stop coming?" 0

The Killer sat on his horse, watching as his men fell one by one. Yu Ren had already lost more than half his forces. Even if they managed to win in the end by some stroke of luck, the cost would be too high. If he didn't take action soon, who would still respect him afterward? 0

Killer was filled with rage as he charged into the arena. Ji Zichen had just taken down a Sand Bandit when he caught a glimpse of Killer rushing towards him from the right. Killer was mounted on a horse, but he bore no weapons. Regardless, his height on horseback gave him an advantage over Ji Zichen, who was at a disadvantage in their impending clash. 0

Without hesitation, Ji Zichen ducked and twisted his body, swinging the Demon-Slaying Sword to sever the front hooves of Killer's horse. Killer tumbled to the ground, bracing himself with his hands. He rolled and then sprang up, soaring into the air like an eagle with his arms outstretched, lunging towards Ji Zichen. 0

From the situation, it seemed that Killer intended to grapple with Ji Zichen. The thought of Mad Bull flashed through Ji Zichen's mind, and he gasped in alarm, "Is he also trying to take us both down?" 0

Seeing Killer's strange approach, Ji Zichen took a few steps back and shouted, "You’re asking for death!" 0

As he retreated, Ji Zichen thrust the Demon-Slaying Sword forward. At that moment, Killer was impaled through the chest like a skewer. Yet instead of gasping for breath, he grinned ominously and said, "What are you doing? You think you can kill me like this?" 0

Ji Zichen stared in disbelief, eyes wide open. The Demon-Slaying Sword had clearly pierced Killer's chest; how could he remain unharmed? Stammering, Ji Zichen exclaimed, "You... you...!" 0

Killer kicked Ji Zichen away. As Ji Zichen was sent flying, the Demon-Slaying Sword was pulled from Killer's chest. Ji Zichen landed several yards away. Lin Chuyu cried out in concern, "Brother Ji!" 0

Ji Zichen pushed himself up with the sword and shouted back, "Don't come any closer!" 0

His face pale, Ji Zichen fixed his gaze on Killer. How could a person survive being stabbed in the chest? Not only was Killer unscathed, but there wasn't even a drop of blood flowing from the wound. Looking at the Demon-Slaying Sword, Ji Zichen noticed it bore no traces of blood either—just some sand clinging to its blade. He pointed the sword at Killer and shouted, "What are you?" 0

Killer chuckled softly and replied, "Ha ha ha! To put it simply, I am sand; no one can kill sand." 0

The other Sand Bandits erupted in wild cheers. One of them mocked Ji Zichen, saying, "This time you're all done for!" 0

Ji Zichen furrowed her brows and asked, "Sand Robe? What kind of strange artifact is that?" 0

She examined Killer, whose clothing was not particularly eye-catching. The Sand Bandits all wore short-sleeved armor, as the climate in the Yellow Sand Plain was hot, and the shorter the clothing, the better. 0

Ji Zichen did not allow Lin Chuyu to come closer. Lin Chuyu called out from a distance, "Brother Ji, how are you?" 0

Although Ji Zichen had received a kick, the pain had subsided. She replied, "I'm fine." 0

Xia Zhou was engaged in combat with two Sand Bandits when one of the Eight Desolation Needles fell to the ground. The other Sand Bandit picked it up and grinned as if he had found a treasure. "Look, he dropped a needle! This is a good item; heh heh, now it's mine!" 0

Xia Zhou kicked one Sand Bandit who fell to the ground and then stabbed the fallen Sand Bandit in the forehead with a needle. The Sand Bandit gasped his last breath instantly. The second Sand Bandit felt a shadow pass by and saw Xia Zhou thrusting an Eight Desolation Needle into his chest. He too collapsed to the ground, lifeless. 0

After swiftly taking down two Sand Bandits, Xia Zhou leaped off the ground and landed in front of the Sand Bandit who had picked up the Eight Desolation Needle. Grabbing the Sand Bandit's wrist with a casual smile, she said, "Give it back to me; you won't know how to use it anyway." 0

With her right palm striking the Sand Bandit's chest, she effortlessly retrieved the Eight Desolation Needle with her left hand. The Sand Bandit let out a muffled groan as he was sent flying backward, knocking over several others behind him. 0

Holding an Eight Desolation Needle and pointing it at the fallen Sand Bandit, Xia Zhou spoke calmly, "The Eight Desolation Needle has been taken from me once; I will not make that mistake again. I warn you all—if it's not yours, don't touch it carelessly." 0

The fallen Sand Bandits groaned as they got up, their faces bruised. They glared at Xia Zhou and shouted in unison, "Stop talking nonsense! Let's all attack him together!" 0

Xia Zhou remained composed and smiled lightly. "You won’t get the chance!" 0

She tossed an Eight Desolation Needle into the air, which exploded right in front of several Sand Bandits. They screamed in horror as their chests and abdomens were torn apart before collapsing to the ground. 0

Xia Zhou looked down at the lifeless body of the Yellow Sand Bandit Path, a sense of superiority in his gaze. "What’s wrong with you? You have no choice but to believe me now, right?" 0

The Killer, unfazed, cast a sidelong glance at Xia Zhou and said, "Is that all you can do? Throw needles like a coward? When fighting someone, you should go all out; you shouldn’t be so lazy." 0

Xia Zhou replied calmly, "What kind of nonsense is that? When engaging in combat, the goal should be to defeat your opponent by any means necessary. Keeping distance is essential during a fight, which is why I chose the Eight Desolation Needles as my weapon." 0

The Killer sneered arrogantly. "Keep your distance? Even if you do, you can't hurt me. I am sand; no one can kill sand. My weapon is the strongest." 0

Fire Lion and Cheng Gangzhu stood facing each other. Fire Lion was also concerned about Ji Zichen's battle situation. "What’s going on with that person? How can he survive being pierced through the chest by a sword?" 0

Cheng Gangzhu pulled out a Fox Spine from his fox fur coat. The Fox Spine elongated in his hand, resembling a spear as he gripped it confidently. "Stop looking around! Your heart has turned into a dead lion!" 0

With a flick of his wrist, Cheng Gangzhu sent the Fox Spine flying toward Fire Lion. Fire Lion quickly retreated, and the Fox Spine struck the ground where he had just stood. Scanning his surroundings, Fire Lion noticed that while he was blocked in front and behind, there was a forest not far to his left. With a swift movement, Fire Lion dashed toward the trees. 0

Cheng Gangzhu pursued him, shouting, "Don’t run! You’ll only waste your energy!" 0

Ignoring the Killer's arrogant remarks, Xia Zhou declared with determination, "Enough chatter! There’s nothing my Eight Desolation Needles can’t destroy! Take this!" 0

He threw the Eight Desolation Needles forward, causing them to explode in front of the Killer. The Killer covered his face with his hands as the needles detonated before him. The explosion created a cloud of smoke, and within it, the Killer's figure flickered before he leaped out of the haze. He laughed coldly and said, "Did you see that? I fear no weapon!" 0

Ji Zichen coldly laughed, "Oh really? If you're so powerful, why are you so afraid of the Mad Bull? I've already figured out the weakness of your artifact!" 0

With that, Ji Zichen made his move, his voice ringing out as he shouted, "You may not fear blades and guns, but do you fear fire? Burn your Sand Robe to ashes!" 0

The fire dragon roared fiercely as it charged toward Killer. Killer continued to perform the same action, covering his face with both hands while the fire dragon opened its jaws wide and engulfed him from above. 0

Once the fire dragon had completely swallowed Killer, it erupted into a column of flames. Trapped within the belly of the dragon, Killer was scorched by the raging fire. Ji Zichen did not hear Killer's cries of pain, but he could hear the sound of sand grains exploding inside the dragon's belly, like oil boiling in a pot. 0

The fire dragon burned rapidly; in just two breaths, it flared up and then extinguished. When the flames dissipated, Killer was left with his body completely red. He still covered his face with his hands, and his clothes had been reduced to ashes by the intense heat. However, he was draped in a long red robe that had originally been sand-colored. 0

At this moment, the robe appeared red due to the reflection of Ji Zichen's fire dragon. 0

Killer stood motionless. As time passed slowly, the once red robe gradually transformed back to its original sand color. Xia Zhou stood there in shock and exclaimed, "This is unbelievable; he can't be burned to death like this!" 0

Killer moved his shoulders slightly but kept his hands over his face as he chuckled eerily, "That was close! Your fire dragon is impressive, but it's still lacking some heat to burn my Sand Robe to pieces." 0

He moved his hands away from his face and felt a sting on his skin. Upon seeing this, Xia Zhou burst into laughter, "You've got blisters on your face from being burned!" 0

The Sand Bandits were left speechless in shock. After a moment, they snapped back to reality and erupted in exclamations, "The Sand Robe couldn't withstand that fire dragon!" 0

Killer shouted hoarsely, "Impossible! How did you manage to burn me?" 0
