Chapter 1 Purple Jade Vase 0

The Arbitrator immediately sensed that something was wrong; someone was trying to open the door to the Divine Chamber. The High Priest also felt that something was amiss. He approached the door, placing one hand against it, and suddenly the door became transparent. The High Priest could now see what was happening outside. However, this transparency existed only in his perception; to Canglin outside, the door remained as impenetrable as ever. 0

A wave of unease washed over the High Priest as he thought, "Someone is attempting to break the seal!" 0

Despite struggling to breathe, the Arbitrator's internal energy continued to flow without interruption. "Don't let him in; I still need a little more time," he urged. 0

The High Priest understood that he could not allow anyone to disturb the Arbitrator. He needed to find a way to control the situation. Canglin outside seemed to sense that someone was watching him from within, his gaze fixed intently on the door. Seeing Canglin staring at him, a cold sweat broke out on the High Priest's brow. "Can he see me?" 0

But then he reassured himself, "Impossible; he can't see me." 0

The High Priest pushed aside his wild thoughts. Regardless of whether this person could see him or not, he had to drive him away. As Canglin continued to stare into the door, it transformed into a dark void. Canglin felt a chill run down his spine and instinctively stepped back, for he saw dark shapes surging from within the door. 0

Canglin retreated instinctively, focusing intently and preparing for any sudden changes. 0

He quickly realized that these shapes were centipedes; they crawled all over the door like a tide rushing toward him. The sight of so many centipedes made Canglin's scalp tingle with fear. If he were caught in a Centipede Swarm, it would surely be perilous. He took out the Purple Jade Vase and blew toward the swarm. 0

In an instant, the centipedes exploded into particles of dust that dissipated into thin air. The High Priest inside witnessed this scene with a pale face, disbelief etched across his features. 0

Behind Canglin, more than twenty Cult members from the Hall of Malevolence surged forth. The Saint King stood amidst a sea of corpses, panting heavily. Though Canglin did not wish to cause unnecessary slaughter, he realized that he had no choice but to act. 0

As Canglin blew into the Purple Jade Vase again, these twenty Cult members disintegrated into particles just like the centipedes. At that moment, the main door suddenly trembled, and a suction cup appeared on it, pulsating irregularly as if it were breathing wildly—opening and closing frantically. Just then, the High Priest emerged from within the suction cup as it vanished. 0

The High Priest's eyes flickered with intensity. "Who are you?" 0

Before Canglin could respond, the Saint King rushed to his side upon seeing someone emerge from that grotesque suction cup. "Is that suction cup an entrance?" he asked urgently. 0

Canglin did not answer the High Priest's question but turned to the Saint King and said, "I don't know; maybe it is." 0

Canglin was preparing to use the Purple Jade Vase once again, but the High Priest was not standing idly by, waiting for him to make a move. With a swift gesture, the High Priest unleashed a swarm of centipedes from his sleeves. The Saint King quickly retreated as Canglin blew into the jade vase, dispersing the mass of centipedes into nothingness. 0

Both sides braced themselves for what was to come. "Open the door! I won't kill you," Canglin declared. 0

The High Priest did not comply with the command; he would never yield to Canglin. If he opened the door, all the suffering endured by the Arbitrator would be in vain. He could not allow such a thing to happen. As long as the Arbitrator succeeded, it didn't matter who came; they would face a formidable opponent. 0

"Stop wasting your breath. If you want to get in, find a way yourself. I will not open the door for you," the High Priest replied. 0

Suddenly, he sensed a flicker of anger emanating from Canglin. Canglin had little time to persuade the High Priest. "You don't need to die for the Arbitrator. You are no match for me. My Purple Jade Vase can tear apart your spirit and body, leaving not even a trace of your soul." 0

Unmoved by Canglin's threat, the High Priest transformed into a centipede and leaped into the air, lunging at Canglin with its mouth wide open. As Canglin activated the Purple Jade Vase, the High Priest's body began to shrink mid-air, and he felt an unbearable pain as his form exploded into particles that scattered into nothingness. 0

More and more soldiers gathered around Prince Huixin, assaulting the inner gates of Fierce Death Valley. Prince Huixin desperately tried to prevent his soldiers from being shot down by stray arrows as they continued to retreat. Wei Deputy had completely taken control of the outer perimeter of Mountain Valley and ordered his soldiers to bring forth a battering ram to strike at the inner gates. Scanning for incoming arrows, Wei Deputy commanded, "Artifact Arrows ready! Take out those archers on the gate!" 0

The Artifact Arrows flew through the air, and several archers from the Hall of Malevolence fell from their positions atop the stone walls. Seeing his opportunity, Wei Deputy ordered the battering ram forward to smash a large hole in the gate. As it swung open, he instructed Prince Huixin to stay back while he and a cavalry unit charged inside. However, once inside, Wei Deputy faced resistance that slowed their advance; elsewhere, members of the Hall of Malevolence continued to rush in. 0

Prince Huixin led his team into the fray as well. After his commander felled several Cult members, he staggered and clutched his throat before collapsing from his horse, blood spraying from his mouth. His skin turned black as he fell lifelessly to the ground. 0

"Commander!" Prince Huixin cried out in shock; it was clear that his commander had been struck by a poisoned arrow. Enraged, Prince Huixin sought out and killed the archer responsible. Raising his Artifact Bow, he aimed at that Hall of Malevolence archer who had been on a distant rooftop. The soldier dodged just in time, mocking Prince Huixin from above. Infuriated, Prince Huixin prepared to shoot again. 0

Just then, a long spear shot through the air and pierced through the body of that Hall of Malevolence Cult member. Looking towards where the spear had come from, Prince Huixin saw Wei Deputy watching him. Realizing that it was Wei Deputy who had thrown it, they exchanged glances before returning their focus to the battlefield. Prince Huixin noticed many more Cult members rushing in but found that none seemed to be leading them; despite their numbers, they appeared disorganized. 0

Curious, Prince Huixin wondered aloud, "This is strange; they've breached our defenses yet there isn't a single leader in sight. Have they all been dispatched?" 0

But this was advantageous; with no leaders present among Hall of Malevolence's ranks meant that his attack was unexpected. As Prince Huixin swept through the battlefield, he knew this battle was nearing its end. Watching Wei Deputy charge forward with determination made him resolve to reward him well afterward; he would ensure that those soldiers who aided them would receive many favors in return for their loyalty and bravery once victory was achieved—along with more power for himself as well. 0

After Canglin killed the High Priest, he stood before the main gate. The Saint King asked, "Can your Purple Jade Vase blow this gate apart?" 0

Canglin gazed at the gate and replied, "No, it can't. The gate has a special Sealing Technique applied to it, and the Purple Jade Vase is ineffective against it." 0

The Saint King observed the Green Light above growing brighter and narrowing down to about the thickness of an arm. He glanced at Canglin, who stood rigidly, also staring at the Green Light in the sky. Suddenly, the Green Light shrank and completely vanished. After a breath, the Green Light transformed into white light, bursting forth anew. A beam of white light shot out from the Divine Chamber, swallowed by the heavens. 0

Canglin immediately felt a chill! "That white light feels very much like the Evil God!" 0

The Saint King was equally startled. "The Evil God has manifested?" 0

Canglin said anxiously, "How could the Evil God have escaped?" 0

Just as Azure Sovereign was lost in thought, the Divine Chamber suddenly shook violently. Canglin shouted, "Get back!" 0

Azure Sovereign retreated over ten paces and saw the doors of the Divine Chamber explode. Amidst the dust and smoke that followed, a figure emerged slowly. Canglin recognized this figure as the Arbitrator! 0

The Arbitrator laughed heartily. "You two, sorry to keep you waiting!" 0

Canglin was taken aback as he noticed a vague shadow concealed within the Arbitrator's body. He asked, "Whose shadow is that inside you?" 0

The Arbitrator proudly laughed, "Gravel Demon!" 0

The Saint King trembled violently. "You drove away the Evil God! You let Gravel Demon possess you!" 0

The Arbitrator laughed loudly. "The Evil God wanted to control me? Not a chance! Now that the Evil God has manifested and fled, no matter where he goes, I will find him. But for now, I must first eliminate you." 0

Arbitrator spread his arms and said, "Do you want to witness the power of Gravel Demon?" 0

As soon as Arbitrator finished speaking, a thick layer of dark clouds rolled in from the sky, pressing down heavily. Suddenly, thousands of lightning bolts struck down from the clouds, shattering the buildings in Mountain Valley. Most people were killed instantly, and the wind howled through the valley. At that moment, Ji Zichen arrived at the Divine Chamber, witnessing Azure Sovereign confronting Arbitrator. After the thunderstorm, torrential rain began to fall. 0

Ji Zichen leaped to Canglin's side. Canglin's face turned pale as he trembled while looking at Arbitrator. "You... Arbitrator!" 0

Arbitrator chuckled, "What? Do you still think you can ride on my head? With the Evil God no longer within me, your Sealing Technique is useless against me!" 0

A gasp escaped from Ji Zichen. "What is happening? The Evil God has been expelled?" 0

Arbitrator mocked, "I don't have time to waste talking with you." 0

Feeling an unprecedented surge of power from Gravel Demon, Arbitrator was momentarily stunned. However, as he harnessed this power, he felt reassured. 0

Canglin addressed everyone, "Stay focused; he is possessed by Gravel Demon. We must be prepared." 0

"Gravel Demon? What is that?" asked Ji Zichen. 0

Canglin had no time to respond to Ji Zichen's question. Instead, he directed the Purple Jade Vase towards Arbitrator. No matter how Canglin attempted to attack, Arbitrator easily deflected his strikes. 0

After several failed attempts, seeing that Arbitrator had evaded him multiple times, Canglin was struck by a bolt of lightning. He was burned inside and out; his skin turned black and began to peel away. Yet he did not fall. Determined, Canglin sought to close the distance to Arbitrator. As long as he could get within half a step of him, there would be no way for Arbitrator to escape the attack from the Purple Jade Vase. 0
