Chapter 1: The Divine Chamber - The Great Door
Lin Chuyu helped Yang Guizhi to stand up, but Yang Guizhi felt her legs weaken, almost unable to support herself. Seeing Yang Guizhi about to collapse without warning, Lin Chuyu quickly supported her and asked with concern, "What’s wrong?"
Yang Guizhi forced a smile and replied, "I'm fine. This is a common symptom of frequently entering the Travel Path. I just need to rest outside."
Lin Chuyu was worried about Yang Guizhi. "Then let’s go outside."
Yang Guizhi glanced at Kai Zhou Shen. "It's not a good time to leave now; Kai Zhou Shen must have something important to discuss with us."
Lin Chuyu remained silent, supporting Yang Guizhi as she stood. Noticing Yang Guizhi's condition, Kai Zhou Shen decided to be brief. "I only wanted to ask this girl one thing."
The girl he referred to was Lin Chuyu. When she saw Kai Zhou Shen looking at her, she said, "You want to ask me? Go ahead."
Kai Zhou Shen gazed intently at Lin Chuyu and asked, "Are you the Vermilion Bird?"
Lin Chuyu felt a moment of panic, but then realized that with Kai Zhou Shen's immense power, trying to hide it would be a joke. She merely nodded slightly without speaking.
Kai Zhou Shen sighed. "You can go now; that's all I wanted to ask."
Lin Chuyu was surprised. "You kept me here just to ask me that? Is there any reason for it?"
She posed the question, but Kai Zhou Shen did not respond. With a wave of his hand, a flash of white light enveloped Lin Chuyu and Yang Guizhi, and they found themselves near the entrance. Yang Guizhi looked at Lin Chuyu with curiosity; she wasn't deaf and had certainly heard Kai Zhou Shen's question. However, she couldn't understand why he needed to be present if he could simply ask Lin Chuyu alone.
This puzzled Yang Guizhi as they were now near the entrance and couldn't linger there any longer. With Lin Chuyu's assistance, she stepped out of the Water Wall and back into the Stone House. Just as Yang Guizhi intended to rest inside, loud voices from outside interrupted her thoughts. Remembering the secret of the Flying Wolf, she urged Lin Chuyu to help her outside.
Outside the Stone House, a crowd of terrified and confused villagers had gathered, seemingly seeking reassurance from the village chief.
With so many people outside, Lin Chuyu worried they would need to push through the crowd. However, the villagers quickly parted to create a path for them. Although there were many villagers, it did not hinder the gentle breeze that flowed through, bringing back memories of Yang Guizhi's childhood. She had always loved feeling the wind on her face for no particular reason; she simply enjoyed that sensation.
As they reached the center of the crowd, they spotted Xi Zu standing among them. Upon seeing Yang Guizhi approach, he exclaimed, "Mother, you finally came out!"
Yang Guizhi, unsure of what was happening, asked, "What’s going on?"
Xi Zu's expression suddenly mirrored that of the villagers. "Mother, it seems those guardians have found the issue with the Formation."
Yang Guizhi was surprised. "So soon? Isn’t it a good thing that they found the problem? Why do you look like that?"
"Mother, we need to meet with the guardians; they will explain everything to you," Xi Zu replied.
He waved his hand to the crowded villagers. "Everyone, disperse! The chief just met with Kai Zhou Shen, and he must have a solution."
Hearing Xi Zu's words, the villagers felt reassured and began to scatter.
Although Xi Zu was reluctant to use Kai Zhou Shen's name, it was effective with the villagers. He turned to Lin Chuyu. "Lin Chuyu, do you want to come along?"
"Yes," Lin Chuyu replied.
Yang Guizhi said, "Since you already know what happened, why not tell me now instead of going to see those guardians?"
"I’m not sure; maybe you wouldn’t believe me. It’s better if the guardians tell you themselves," Xi Zu answered.
The guardians gathered near the village entrance, where a temporary tent had been set up. Inside the tent, aside from a long table, there was nothing else. The guardians sat around the table, discussing something seriously.
One guardian stated, "It must be this way; this is indeed the result of a problem with the Formation. The Formation contains its own power; it hasn’t malfunctioned but is warning us of an impending invasion."
As Yang Guizhi entered the tent, she caught only part of what the guardian said and stepped forward to inquire, "What invasion?"
Seeing Yang Guizhi enter, the guardians stood up to greet her. They offered her a chair, and just as she sat down, one guardian said, "We believe the invader that the Formation is warning us about is the Gravel Demon."
Yang Guizhi furrowed her brow. "Gravel Demon?"
"Yes," the guardian confirmed. "There are records on the walls of Da Gong Kingdom that mention the Gravel Demon. The reason there are so many Demon Beasts in the Opening of the Zhou Wasteland is because of the Gravel Demon. Our Formation was created by our second Great Palace King in conjunction with the divine beings specifically to deal with the Gravel Demon. However, over time it has undergone numerous modifications, and its power is now significantly stronger than before."
"But the Gravel Demon has been sealed in the Nine Nether Maze for a thousand years. Now the Formation warns us; I'm afraid the Gravel Demon is about to cause trouble."
Lin Chuyu exclaimed, "Since the Gravel Demon has been sealed for a thousand years, how could it possibly come out now? Has the seal failed?"
Fa Wei shook his head. "I don't know either, but what we do know is that the Gravel Demon is far from the Opening of the Zhou Wasteland. If the Gravel Demon were at the Opening of the Zhou Wasteland, the Formation's warning would be much stronger."
Yang Guizhi thought that regardless of where the Gravel Demon was, its emergence alongside the Evil God was truly troubling. Fa Wei and his team had figured out the situation and wanted to return to the Great Palace Kingdom immediately to discuss countermeasures. Yang Guizhi had no further questions; after all, the Great Palace Kingdom had dealt with the Gravel Demon a thousand years ago, so they must have some measures in place. The priority now was to get back as soon as possible.
The Teleportation Array was already set up. Fa Wei said to Yang Guizhi, "We will report back to the Great Palace King right away. If anything comes up, we will contact you as soon as possible."
Yang Guizhi nodded. "Safe travels."
As soon as she spoke, Yang Guizhi felt her words were somewhat unnecessary; these guardians were not riding horses on a journey. Fa Wei smiled slightly and signaled for the other guardians to enter the Formation and teleport back.
Once the guardians had left, Yang Guizhi stared blankly at the Teleportation Array. Lin Chuyu asked, "Is something wrong?"
Yang Guizhi sighed. "The simultaneous appearance of the Evil God and the Gravel Demon—are we being tested or toyed with?"
Lin Chuyu fell silent; she couldn't answer such a question.

A soldier screamed loudly as his chest was sliced open by a member of the Hall of Malevolence Cult. The soldier next to him didn't even have time to make a sound before another member of the Hall of Malevolence Cult brought down a large machete, severing his head.
Now Prince Huixin had led his men into the Evil Spirit Hall Mountain Valley, where soldiers and Cult members lay dead everywhere. Despite Prince Huixin leading from the front, he could not prevent more soldiers from dying; those in Fierce Death Valley offered no respite and resisted fiercely.
The news of Prince Huixin's attack on Fierce Death Valley surprised the Arbitrator somewhat, but his confidence in their ultimate victory remained unshaken. Though he lay on a platform, it seemed as if his eyes could see countless soldiers flooding through the entrance; he was certain that no Cult member could stop them.
Wei Deputy led the cavalry against the blocking Cult members while Prince Huixin entrusted everyone to Wei Deputy. He commanded a team to charge deeper inside, determined to find his prize—the Arbitrator.
As Prince Huixin rushed inward with his men, many Cult members emerged to resist them. Each wave of Cult members arriving was larger than the last, but Prince Huixin had no other plans; he could only charge forward and fight through them.
Prince Huixin stood before the internal gate of Fierce Death Valley. Upon seeing Prince Huixin leading his troops, a guard from the Cult shouted, "Keep the gate secure! Buy time for the Arbitrator! Soon, the Arbitrator will tear them to shreds!"
Hearing the guard's call, Prince Huixin's heart raced with excitement; the moment of greatness had arrived. He stepped forward and declared, "The Arbitrator is inside! We must take down this gate!"

Canglin and Saint King had arrived outside the Divine Chamber, but the door remained tightly shut. As the Green Light emanating from the Divine Chamber grew dimmer, Saint King thought to himself, "No matter what this Green Light signifies, its fading indicates that something is nearing completion."
Canglin placed a hand against the door of the Divine Chamber and attempted to open it, but it stood firm and unyielding. Pulling his hand back, Canglin pondered other methods.
Closing his eyes, Canglin sent his spiritual essence floating into the air. It circled around the Divine Chamber, but he could not find any entrance. Just as he was lost in thought searching for an opening, Saint King spotted a group of Cult members rushing toward them. Not wanting to let these Cult members disturb Canglin's search, Saint King moved swiftly to confront them.
From observing the structure of the Divine Chamber, it was clear that their only entrance was the main door they stood before. However, this door seemed sealed with powerful enchantments that made it impossible to breach. Canglin had lost track of time in his search but knew that since his spiritual essence had left his body, at least seven Cult members had already perished at Saint King's hands.
Canglin realized he needed to open this Divine Chamber door quickly; he had to do something and could not afford to waste time here. He focused his spirit back into his body and calmed himself as he carefully examined the door.
Above the main entrance were numerous intertwined lines that appeared chaotic and vine-like without any specific shape. Canglin's eyes traced the patterns of these lines, but he still found nothing conclusive. Frustration filled him as the Green Light continued to weaken. Regardless of what the Arbitrator was doing inside, it seemed they were close to success.
Though Canglin could not guess what the Arbitrator was up to within those walls, he felt that if it were not something significant, there would be no reason for the Arbitrator to remain in such an impenetrable Divine Chamber. He sensed that if this door were opened from within by the Arbitrator, it would signify their success—and that success would mean his failure.
Regardless of the circumstances, Canglin knew he had to find a way to interrupt whatever the Arbitrator was currently engaged in.
