Chapter 119: The Kingdom of Da Gong 0

The Great Hunt Black Bull, pierced in its side, began to gasp for breath. Despite its insides being scorched by fire, it showed no signs of slowing down. The Great Hunt Black Bull continued to struggle desperately, trying to break free from the Nine Sabers of the Flying Wolf. But how could the Flying Wolf allow it to escape? With a push of the Nine Sabers, the Great Hunt Black Bull was split in two. 0

On the other side, the Militia faced the frantic charges of the Great Hunt Black Bull as it used its body and tail to crash into them. The Militia focused intently, wielding their swords, axes, and halberds in coordination to take down the Great Hunt Black Bull. 0

Xia Lian summoned three Vengeful Spirits once more. The three Vengeful Spirits quickly surrounded the massive Great Hunt Black Bull, which fought back fiercely. Xia Lian waved her right hand, directing the three Vengeful Spirits to attack from different directions. Her method of controlling the Vengeful Spirits was straightforward; she aimed to coordinate their strikes for a quick kill of the Great Hunt Black Bull. 0

The two sides clashed on the riverbank, with trees leaning under the strain. Hundreds of leaves fell from the towering treetops as Flying Wolf instructed the Militia to advance cautiously, keeping the Great Hunt Black Bull trapped in the center. 0

Enraged, the Great Hunt Black Bull charged at the humans who dared to offend it. However, it sustained numerous wounds on its body, legs, and head. The sharp blades of swords and axes whistled through the air, each strike opening new gashes on its body. Blood poured from these wounds, soaking its fur and blurring its vision. 0

As several Great Hunt Black Bulls fell, the confidence of the Militia and Flying Wolf surged as they continued to fight. The air filled with chilling howls from the remaining bulls. Seizing an opportunity presented by one of them, Flying Wolf grasped a horn and thrust his sword into its eyes. The Great Hunt Black Bull let out a pained roar and thrashed wildly before finally collapsing. 0

With one threat temporarily neutralized, Flying Wolf turned his attention to another Great Hunt Black Bull. Two members of the Militia had been knocked down and were now being gored by it. The bull opened its mouth wide and eagerly began to bite at their wounds. 0

Unlike ordinary cattle that merely grazed on grass, this bull was bloodthirsty and carnivorous. It tore into the flesh of a fallen Militia member while nearby comrades rushed in too late to save him. 0

So far, Xia Lian considered herself fortunate; no Great Hunt Black Bull had come looking for trouble with her yet. She remained nestled among her three Vengeful Spirits, who were protecting her. 0

Watching Flying Wolf and the Militia bravely slay the Great Hunt Black Bulls as they gradually gained the upper hand filled Xia Lian with a sense of dread. A terrifying thought crossed her mind: if Flying Wolf couldn’t return to the village, everything would fall back into the hands of the chieftain. If Flying Wolf were killed here, it would greatly benefit that chieftain. But Flying Wolf was not an irredeemable villain; Xia Lian was not a deity either. Though she had lived many years, she could not decide others' fates. 0

As she observed Flying Wolf fighting valiantly against the Great Hunt Black Bull while protecting the Militia, Xia Lian shook her head and cast aside her dreadful thoughts. She realized that Flying Wolf had some regard for her; in her heart, he was neither friend nor foe. Now she should fight alongside him because they belonged to the same tribe. Xia Lian felt ashamed for her momentary madness. 0

She told herself that she could no longer stand idly by doing nothing. 0

"I'm sorry, Flying Wolf; I shouldn't have thought that way," Xia Lian murmured softly under her breath so that no one could hear her words. Taking a deep breath, she focused on the ongoing battle between Flying Wolf and a Great Hunt Black Bull. To his right, members of the Militia were already beginning to encircle their remaining enemy; one bull's front leg was immobilized and could not hold out much longer. 0

One Militia member gathered all his strength and bent down to split open the bull's belly with a mighty blow. With a deafening roar, intestines spilled out onto the ground. 0

Xia Lian summoned ten Vengeful Spirits; their ethereal forms swirled like a gale as they entered the fray and immediately intimidated the Great Hunt Black Bull. Then Xia Lian directed both Vengeful Spirits and Flying Wolf to work together against it. The effect of having ten Vengeful Spirits join in exceeded Xia Lian's expectations by far. 0

The great hunt of the black bulls continued, and once again, tranquility filled the riverbank. 0

Yang Guizhi returned to the village. Despite the sun nearly roasting her alive, she forced herself to hurry back to the Stone House. As she neared the Stone House, she heard the sound of armor clinking; it was the Militia. One of the Militia recognized her, and Yang Guizhi's stern expression softened. 0

Aside from the guards sent by Xi Zu, the other Militia in the village now appeared frightening to Yang Guizhi, as most of them were quite fond of the Flying Wolf. 0

"Chief, why didn't you let us accompany you when you left the village?" one of the Militia asked with concern. 0

Yang Guizhi smiled slightly. "It's nothing; I was just taking a walk nearby." 0

Seeing the urgency on their faces, Yang Guizhi asked, "What happened?" 0

Of course, the Militia could not ignore their chief's inquiry. One of them replied, "Chief, we need to leave the village now and head to Blackstone Road." 0

Yang Guizhi was puzzled. "What are you going there for?" 0

The faces of the Militia showed pain. One of them said, "The pursuit team encountered a Demon Beast on the road, and there were many casualties. We are going to bring back the bodies!" 0

Yang Guizhi gasped. "Bodies!" 0

She had never imagined that there would be deaths among the pursuit team. The thought made her tremble. 0

The Militia continued, "Those Demon Beasts nearly wiped out everyone who appeared before them." Their voices grew low and despondent. "The Azure Blaze Lizard was eliminated, providing no help to its Yu Ren." 0

Yang Guizhi's expression turned blank as she pondered whether she was worried about Flying Wolf or the grim task of retrieving bodies. 0

Silently, she waved her hand for them to proceed with their duties, and the Militia departed. 0

Yang Guizhi was completely immersed in the information she had just heard, staring blankly at the group heading towards Blackstone Road. She quickly lifted her long skirt and rushed back to Stone House. Just as Yang Guizhi entered the house, Xi Zu followed closely behind. 0

Xi Zu, looking anxious, asked, "Mother, is it true? Did someone die in the pursuit team?" 0

Yang Guizhi nodded sadly. Xi Zu felt sorrow for the lives lost without reason. "How could this happen? Didn't they bring a lot of Azure Blaze Lizards with them?" 0

Yang Guizhi replied, "I heard that too, but I don't have all the details. You go out first; I need to see Kai Zhou Shen and ask him what happened." 0

"Mother, now is not the time to ask Kai Zhou Shen. The villagers are in a state of panic; you need to find a way to comfort them," Xi Zu insisted. 0

"You go downstairs first; I need to understand why things turned out this way," Yang Guizhi said firmly. 0

It was clear that Yang Guizhi was relying on Kai Zhou Shen for everything, which Xi Zu found frustrating. He scoffed, "If you want to ask him, go ahead. Even if you know the process, what good will it do?" 0

After Xi Zu left Stone House, Yang Guizhi realized her dependence on Kai Zhou Shen. However, she couldn't change that reliance. Even though she knew that knowing the details wouldn't bring her any joy, she was eager to understand what had happened. More importantly, Yang Guizhi wanted to know whether Flying Wolf was alive or dead. If Flying Wolf were dead, it would relieve her of one worry, but she also understood that Flying Wolf would not die so easily. 0

It had been a long time since Yang Guizhi felt this troubled. She couldn't confront Xi Zu about Flying Wolf's ambitions; previously, she believed Flying Wolf was loyal, but now... 0

Yang Guizhi hoped that her worries would not come true, yet she knew that was self-deception. What troubled her now was that although Yuanming had informed her of Flying Wolf's ambitions, Yang Guizhi still hadn't figured out how to deal with him. Perhaps Flying Wolf's training of those Azure Blaze Lizards was merely an attempt to protect the village; the true reason might not be as Yuanming envisioned. 0

Regardless of what Yang Guizhi wanted to do, fortunately, she didn't have to make a decision right away. 0

When Yang Guizhi met with Kai Zhou Shen, he showed her the encounter of Flying Wolf and his group through a Water Wall projection. The image displayed trees and leaves, revealing many dead Azure Blaze Lizards and scenes of Flying Wolf fighting valiantly alongside the Militia. The events encountered at the Opening of the Zhou Wasteland were always unpredictable and filled with chance. 0

Flying Wolf had done his best to slay the Great Black Bull; by all accounts, it should have been a successful mission. However, seeing the bodies of the Great Black Bull and Militia in the rocky riverbank mud still struck her deeply. 0

Yang Guizhi learned about the sequence of events and witnessed Flying Wolf's bravery. If something truly unusual had happened to Flying Wolf, she realized that relying solely on herself would not yield any advantage. 0

At this moment, Yang Guizhi made up her mind. She left the house and headed towards Spring Valley to find Yuanming. When Yuanming saw her hurried return and noticed her expression, he could tell from Yang Guizhi's eyes that she had already made a decision. 0

"Is it time?" Yuanming asked. 0

The sound of Yuanming's voice startled Yang Guizhi, who had unknowingly wandered into Spring Valley, lost in thought. She hadn't even realized she had arrived until Yuanming stood before her. 0

Yang Guizhi heard Yuanming's words and replied, "I am ready." 0

"Please sit in the pavilion for a moment while I call Xier over," Yuanming suggested. 0

Yang Guizhi shook her head. "Regardless of whether this works or not, Xier shouldn't be involved just yet. I think we should meet with the Great Palace King first." 0

Yuanming considered this for a moment. "That makes sense; after all, you are the clan leader. Wait here while I grab my coat." 0

Yuanming retrieved the coat and whistled. A bird descended from the sky, and the two of them climbed onto its back. With a flap of its wings, the bird took off into the air, weaving through clouds and soaring over the ancient Kaizhou Wilderness Mountains. They quickly arrived at an open area shrouded in mist. 0

This was the realm of the Great Palace King, where towering mountains were capped with snow and enveloped in swirling clouds. 0

The palace was nestled among the lofty peaks, and Yang Guizhi could feel the majesty of this land. The vast Mountain Valley bore marks left by ice and snow, with each peak showcasing its own unique features. 0

Feeling slightly dizzy from the thin air, Yang Guizhi struggled to maintain her balance. Yuanming gently supported her to prevent her from falling. 0

"I forgot you were afraid of heights. Here, put on this coat," Yuanming said with concern in his voice. 0

As Yang Guizhi donned the coat, she felt warmth return to her body and a sudden surge of strength within her. 0
