Chapter 116: Cultivation - Sealing Technique 0

The Saint King seemed lost in thought for a moment. Finally, he turned to Ji Zichen and said, " Ji Zichen, you are very brave. You returned the Azure Serpent Pearl to Mountain Valley, and you did not disappoint Big Fool's expectations. Now I shall honor Big Fool as a warrior; its soul will be respected by us. I grant you a title; you are our friend, and from now on, you may enter Mountain Valley freely. I bestow upon you the title of Azure Flame Envoy, which is higher than that of a warrior. None can command you." 0

Ji Zichen did not care much about the title, but upon hearing the Saint King's words, Cangda had already lowered his head in respect before Ji Zichen. 0

With that, Ji Zichen felt it would be inappropriate to refuse. He replied, "From now on, the Guzhao Clan will be my friends." 0

The Saint King continued, "Cangda, you have done well this time; you have not disappointed my expectations. Ji Zichen, Canglin called you here for a reason that I understand well. I foresee that the Evil God's Soul has emerged. Although the Evil God is currently attached to a person, it will soon be able to control that individual. That person is already in grave danger. Once the Evil God fully awakens, chaos will surely ensue." 0

"You seek Divine Dawn, and so does the Evil God. However, it is not for what lies within." 0

Ji Zichen asked, "Then what does it seek?" 0

The Saint King replied, "The passage to the realm." 0

Ji Zichen was taken aback. "There is a passage to the realm within the ruins!" 0

The Saint King sighed. "Yes. During the battle between the divine race and the Vermilion Bird, did you think that the Vermilion Bird clan alone could withstand the divine race's assault? The Vermilion Bird clan sought help from the Evil God at that time. Although they won then, the Evil God was severely injured. It seeks revenge; it wants to bring disaster upon the divine race." 0

The Saint King fell into contemplation, thinking that his fate was ultimately approaching. 0

Once powerful in mind and spirit with a robust body, all that remained of the Saint King now was an aging form. He had once possessed admirable qualities, but this was no longer the era of the Saint King. Despite this, his expression remained calm; what was meant to come would come regardless of avoidance. Sometimes he could feel his soul drifting away from his body, but he was uncertain where it would end up. 0

Pointing a finger at Ji Zichen, the Saint King said, "Go walk your path." 0

Ji Zichen was puzzled. "Walk my path? How should I do that?" 0

The Saint King replied, "Follow me." 0

With a flick of his index finger, a crack appeared out of thin air. The Saint King stepped into the fissure, and without hesitation, Ji Zichen followed him inside. 0

The Floating Platform lay behind Mountain Valley; it resembled a lotus flower with a dirt path leading beneath it lined with mottled Stone Steps. Numerous Bamboo grew around them. Ji Zichen looked up and saw that the sun was high above his head; however, he felt no warmth from it at all. Did this mean it was noon or merely a trick cast by some spell? 0

Ji Zichen felt heavy as if weighed down by hundreds of pounds of sandbags pressing upon him. The Saint King stood beside him and looked at Ji Zichen with admiration. "Your ability to withstand pressure is impressive; such great weight has not crushed you." 0

Ji Zichen was taken aback by the inexplicable gravity he felt. Not only did he sense a heavy pressure on his body, but he also gradually began to feel fatigued, as if he were about to be torn apart. 0

"Do not resist this feeling," Saint King said. "If you want to master the Sealing Technique, you must rely on this sensation. The heavier you feel now, the stronger your power will be when sealing the Evil God. Now sit down, and I will tell you how to use the Sealing Technique." 0

Zang Da returned to look for Lin Chuyu, but she was no longer in the Grass Hut. Just as Zang Da turned to leave the house, he saw Lin Chuyu and Black Thunder returning. Black Thunder immediately questioned Zang Da, "Where did he go?" 0

Zang Da understood Black Thunder's temperament and why he was so anxious. He replied, "He had something to do with Saint King. Saint King took him into a rift; I don’t know where they went." 0

Black Thunder fell silent for a moment before leaving in frustration. 0

Xi Zu enjoyed the feeling of Flying Wolf not being in the village. Eight spirited Militia members stood before him, and Xi Zu carefully examined each one, nodding in approval. 0

With Flying Wolf absent from the village, the responsibility naturally fell on Xi Zu's shoulders. He wanted to prove his worth in front of his mother. He addressed the Militia members, "Most of the villagers have gone out with Flying Wolf. I am promoting you all to be the chief's guard; you must ensure the chief's safety." 0

The village was fortified and united in spirit. The Militia members were unsure why Xi Zu was so serious about protecting the chief, but since Xi Zu was Young Master, they followed his lead without question. 0

Xi Zu led his selected Militia members to meet the chief. The chief loved to sleep and could even sleep through an entire day if there were no matters at hand. As chief, she had the right to rest as much as she pleased. In the eyes of the villagers, she was perfect in every way, especially regarding her beauty; thus, she usually slept during the day to avoid damaging her skin with harsh sunlight. 0

The chief typically did two things: sleep and listen to Kai Zhou Shen's teachings. A maidservant quietly entered the bedroom to serve her. Although reluctant, she had to report since it was Young Master who had come. Kneeling beside the chief's bed, she softly said, "Young Master requests an audience." 0

The chief let out a soft hum and sat up in bed, her graceful figure barely visible behind the thin curtain. 0

"What does he want to see me about?" she asked lightly. 0

"The Young Master has chosen new guards and wants you to meet them," replied the maidservant. 0

"New guards? When did I need new guards?" The chief furrowed her brow, unable to imagine why Xi Zu would do such a thing. However, she got out of bed and had the maidservant help her put on her clothes. After a moment of hesitation, she said, "Have him wait in the hall." 0

"Yes," replied the maidservant as she dressed appropriately and went out to convey the chief's message. 0

The clan leader had to meticulously prepare herself whenever she met anyone. After a while, she emerged from the inner room, and the eight members of the Militia, upon seeing her, hurriedly knelt down, as they rarely had the opportunity to see her inside her quarters. 0

The clan leader sat down beside a chair and said, "You must have something very important to discuss with me at this time." 0

Xi Zu stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Mother, I know you dislike being disturbed during your rest, but you must meet the guards I’ve brought for you." 0

The clan leader glanced at the eight guards and replied, "Matters of protection are handled by Flying Wolf. Why are you causing a fuss?" 0

At the mention of Flying Wolf, Xi Zu felt displeased and said, "Mother, you don’t need to rely on Flying Wolf for everything. I can do what he does." 0

The clan leader smiled slightly. "I know you have filial piety. Very well, let them stay as my guards." 0

Xi Zu responded happily, "They are carefully chosen by me, Mother. You need not doubt their loyalty." He waved his hand to dismiss the guards, and they retreated. 0

"Is there anything else?" 0

"Not for now, Mother." 0

"Then I suppose you have many other matters to attend to." 0

"Yes, I will take my leave now." 0
