Chapter 11: Reinforcements 0

Xia Lian was being held by the neck like a child by the Arbitrator. Frustration and anger surged within her; it was her own fault for not assessing the situation before using the Sealing Technique. Who could she blame? Being lifted like this was incredibly uncomfortable, and though her neck wasn't her throat, it still made Xia Lian's face flush with a deep shade of purple. With great difficulty, she managed to speak, "If you want to kill me, then do it. Don't humiliate me!" 0

The Arbitrator laughed heartily. "If I hadn't made arrangements with the Evil God beforehand, and you had sealed the Evil God in front of me, it would have been you humiliating me instead." 0

In the Hall of Malevolence, those who were useless and traitors only faced death. Anyone who dared to hope for survival would be subjected to cruel punishments that would make them regret not dying. A faint chill hung in the night air, and the moon hung high in the starry sky like a mirror. Xia Lian's eyes reflected the trees beyond the platform; she remembered a babbling brook within that forest where she used to enjoy lingering and resting. 0

The sound of the flowing stream was faintly audible to Xia Lian at this moment. What usually calmed her spirit now felt heavy, making it hard for her to breathe. Her senses heightened as she heard footsteps crossing the stream. Her heart tightened, and her gaze flickered. Suddenly, she saw Ji Zichen emerge from the trees, and Xia Lian didn't know whether to feel joy or dread at Kiko's appearance. 0

A mocking laugh escaped the Arbitrator's lips. "You arrived quite quickly." 0

Seeing Xia Lian in the Arbitrator's grasp, Ji Zichen wasted no time and drew the Demon-Slaying Sword, aiming it at the Arbitrator. "Let her go!" 0

The Arbitrator sneered. "Fine, I'll let her go." 0

With a flick of his wrist, he threw Xia Lian toward Ji Zichen. Reacting swiftly, Ji Zichen angled her sword aside just as Xia Lian crashed into her arms. Looking into Xia Lian's clear, sorrowful eyes sent a shiver through Ji Zichen's heart, awakening a sense of guilt within her. She thought to herself, "It's my fault for putting her in this situation. If I had let her leave with me back then, she wouldn't have to endure this." 0

Ji Zichen fiercely turned her gaze back to the Arbitrator. "If you dare hurt her like this, I will kill you!" 0

Though Xia Lian felt immense gratitude for Ji Zichen's arrival, she knew that with the Evil God and Soul aiding the Arbitrator now, it would be difficult for Ji Zichen to contend with him. At that moment, Xia Lian regretted bringing Ji Zichen here; she had never anticipated that the Evil God would agree to assist the Arbitrator. The normally fearless Xia Lian was now sweating coldly on her forehead. 0

Xia Lian immediately urged, "You need to leave! You're no match for him!" 0

Ji Zichen returned, naturally preparing for the worst. "I won't be defeated so easily," he declared. 0

Setting Xia Lian aside, Ji Zichen had already calculated his chances of winning and the type of attack he would launch. He had faced countless opponents before. He could feel the Arbitrator before him like a massive wave, and under such a torrent, survival seemed bleak. Yet, Xia Lian was willing to put herself in danger to save them; how could Ji Zichen simply walk away? 0

Ji Zichen thrust his sword forward, the Demon-Slaying Sword vibrating as it unleashed a Double Image. The images moved erratically; anyone other than the Arbitrator witnessing such a display would surely be dizzy. But the Arbitrator remained unfazed, knowing this was merely a distraction, with something far more sinister to follow. Indeed, as Ji Zichen entered the range of his calculated attack, a fire dragon erupted from his sword. With a fierce roar, Ji Zichen commanded the fire dragon to open its mouth wide, resembling a tsunami poised to engulf the Arbitrator. 0

The fire dragon surged forward with ferocity, yet the Arbitrator stood unmoving, his gaze calm as water. He raised two fingers slightly and pointed them at the fire dragon's forehead. The blazing creature met an icy end as if it had collided with eternal frost; in an instant, it seemed to be completely absorbed by the Arbitrator's fingers. 0

Seeing the Arbitrator dispel the fire dragon so effortlessly filled Ji Zichen's eyes with fear and disbelief. "How is this possible?" 0

Before Ji Zichen could fully express his astonishment, a dark mist emerged from the Arbitrator's fingers. It began as a sphere but suddenly elongated into a spear made of black mist. The spear thrust toward Ji Zichen's Demon-Slaying Sword's tip, forcing him to retreat repeatedly as it formed. 0

When the spear struck the blade, pain shot through Ji Zichen's hand like lightning. He let out a hoarse cry that pierced the air, and in shock, he hurriedly stepped back. The Arbitrator chuckled darkly. "I initially thought killing you would require some effort, but it seems I overestimated you; you're not much." 0

"It’s time to end this. I have many things to do and don’t want to waste time on you." With that, the black mist spear dissipated, and in an instant, the Arbitrator moved closer. Before Ji Zichen could react, a large hand clamped down on him from the front, lifting him off the ground as if he were carrying Xia Lian. 0

Ji Zichen flailed his legs in midair while the Arbitrator tightened his grip. His consciousness began to fade as blood covered his face; it seemed that just a gentle squeeze from the Arbitrator had already marred Ji Zichen's striking features. 0

At that moment, Lin Chuyu and Shen Bifan rushed over. The Arbitrator glanced at them with amusement and said, "Things are getting livelier; Ji Zichen, you're lucky—three women have come to witness your demise." 0

The three women screamed in unison, "No!" 0

The Arbitrator firmly held Ji Zichen's face, blocking his line of sight. Kiko could hear a woman's sobbing, and the muscles on his face twitched slightly. 0

"Xia Lian, don't cry," the Arbitrator said. "Your rebellious actions are unforgivable. Once he is dead, it will be your turn." 0

Ji Zichen's face was smeared with blood, and suddenly he let out a light laugh. Although the Arbitrator couldn't see Kiko's eyes, he felt as if he could see the brilliance in them. A tremendous aura surged from Kiko's body, transforming him in the Arbitrator's eyes from a mere ant into a towering giant. 0

Under the pressure of Kiko's unusual aura, the Arbitrator couldn't help but exclaim, "This feeling is strange!" 0

Kiko's body erupted with patterns once more. His previously drooping hands suddenly regained strength. With a swift motion of his right hand, the Demon-Slaying Sword pierced into the Arbitrator's body. To others, it seemed that Kiko was merely being held by the Arbitrator, blood trickling down his face. However, hidden within the Arbitrator's five fingers were five mouths that were sucking Kiko's blood and essence. 0

The mouths exuded venom; logically, Kiko should have been too weak to resist. Yet not only did he still possess strength, but the sword had also embedded itself within him. As the blade pierced deeper, the Arbitrator felt something tugging at his insides. The metallic taste of blood surged in his throat as the Evil God whispered within him, "Let him go! His sword contains the Primal Vortex!" 0

Though the Arbitrator didn't know what the Primal Vortex was, hearing the Evil God’s fear made him swing his arm and violently slam Kiko against a stone pillar. The Demon-Slaying Sword was pulled out along with Kiko’s forceful impact against the pillar, causing him to feel dizzy. 0

As soon as the sword exited his body, the Arbitrator’s wound began to heal slowly on its own. He chuckled softly, "Is this what it feels like to be immortal?" 0

Kiko took a moment to recover and gradually regained his senses. He looked at the still-standing Arbitrator in disbelief. "The Vortex is clearly inside him... How can he still stand?" 0

At that moment, the Arbitrator had completely healed and threw his head back in wild laughter. "With this kind of power, you cannot kill me!" 0

Suddenly, commotion arose from a distance as a Cult member rushed over to report, "Arbitrator! It's bad news! The Divine Alliance Under the Covenant is attacking Fierce Death Valley!" 0
