Chapter 1: Possession of the Evil God 0

Xia Lian landed beside the Evil God Platform, where she saw the Arbitrator and the Evil God facing each other. 0

“Arbitrator! I won’t let you use the Evil God!” 0

Xia Lian's voice was clear and warm. Her sharp reprimand reached the Arbitrator's ears, who turned to look at her. Due to Xia Lian's new body, the Arbitrator didn’t recognize her at first and thought to himself, “Who is this child? How did she come to the Hall of Malevolence?” 0

The Arbitrator said, “You are bold! Who are you to dare intrude upon the Evil God Platform?” 0

Xia Lian smirked lightly, “Arbitrator, you really don’t recognize me anymore?” 0

The Arbitrator studied Xia Lian for a moment and suddenly exclaimed, “You’ve changed your body again!” 0

Xia Lian scolded, “Arbitrator, you revived the Evil God because you wanted to claim him for yourself!” 0

The Arbitrator sneered, “Do you want him to lead you?” 0

Xia Lian took a step closer to the Evil God. “I won’t let you have the Evil God; I’m going to seal him again.” 0

The Arbitrator found it amusing and did not stop Xia Lian. “Do you know the Sealing Technique?” 0

As Xia Lian approached the Evil God, she raised both hands towards him. A powerful white mist began to gather above her palms. The Arbitrator’s expression changed. “How do you know the Sealing Technique! Are you a reincarnation of Buddha?” 0

Behind the Evil God, a dark spot appeared, gradually expanding into a large black sphere. A crack opened in the center of the sphere as the Evil God's soul twisted and was slowly drawn into it. 0

Seeing Xia Lian about to seal the Evil God, the Arbitrator remained calm. “No, you can’t be Buddha; you must be his disciple. It’s not surprising that you understand this.” 0

Xia Lian sealed the Evil God back into the Underworld Border. She was drenched in sweat, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Although sealing was simple, it consumed a massive amount of mental energy. Despite her exhaustion, she felt very pleased. 0

After catching her breath for a moment, Xia Lian suddenly couldn’t smile anymore because the Arbitrator’s reaction was very strange. Why was he just watching her seal the Evil God without intervening? Xia Lian glared at the Arbitrator, who looked back at her with a cold smile. “You must be wondering why I’m not stopping you, right?” 0

Xia Lian felt a chill in her heart. "What trick are you playing?" 0

The Arbitrator laughed loudly. "No tricks! I have already negotiated terms with the Evil God. What you sealed away is not the Evil God's Soul!" 0

The Arbitrator shouted, "Come on!" 0

Suddenly, ten Cult members surged onto the platform. The Arbitrator commanded, "Kill this traitor!" 0

"Yes!" 0

The ten Cult members rushed towards Xia Lian. She was drained of energy; under normal circumstances, she wouldn't have regarded these Cult members as a threat, but now she could only grit her teeth and face them head-on. With a wave of her hand, three Vengeful Spirits emerged from behind her and charged at the Cult members. These Cult members seemed much more skilled than usual. When they saw the Vengeful Spirits approaching, they did not panic; instead, they formed a battle formation and attacked the Vengeful Spirits with their swords. 0

The swords of the Cult members clashed with the Vengeful Spirits, producing dazzling sparks. In the blink of an eye, the three Vengeful Spirits were pierced and dissipated by the long swords in the hands of the Cult members. 0

Xia Lian quickly retreated, facing off against the ten Cult members. They remained remarkably composed. With Xia Lian not making a move, the ten Cult members held their swords across their chests, standing ready to protect the Arbitrator. 0

Xia Lian was taken aback. "What we sealed away is not the Evil God's Soul; could it be...?" 0

The Arbitrator sneered coldly. "You don't need to think too much about it. Why would I be foolish enough to exchange my own Soul with him? That is not my Soul; it belongs to a loyal Servant of mine. Do you think you understand the tricks of soul exchange?" 0

Xia Lian gritted her teeth in hatred. "If it’s not your Soul, how could you deceive the Evil God?" 0

The Arbitrator let out a deliberately disguised hoarse laugh. "Isn't it simple to trick him? That is a Soul of my own kin." 0

Suddenly, Xia Lian was shaken! "A kin's Soul! You killed your own family!" 0

The Arbitrator's cold eyes flashed with a biting hatred. "He usurped my throne; why shouldn't I kill him? If it weren't for his Soul being useful to me, I would have destroyed his Soul long ago!" 0

Xia Lian pondered for a moment. "Usurp your throne? Could it be that you..." 0

"That's right, it was him," the Arbitrator replied. 0

The person they were referring to was Yuxuan's father. 0

The Arbitrator spoke coldly and slowly, "You understand the Sealing Technique, which poses a significant threat to me now. I do not wish to be sealed away to the Underworld Border. You only have yourself to blame for not recognizing the situation and exposing your Sealing Technique!" 0

A strong killing intent surged in the Arbitrator's eyes as he sneered, "Xia Lian, you've lived long enough." 0

"Attack!" 0

At the Arbitrator's command, ten members of the Cult unexpectedly took out feather needle boxes. They pressed the switches simultaneously, and a dazzling array of silver needles shot forth. The feather needles were as fine as cow hair, and thousands of needle shadows flew toward Xia Lian. Gritting her teeth, she dodged and stumbled, managing to evade ninety percent of the feather needles, but dozens still came flying toward her. 0

With no way to avoid them, Xia Lian waved her delicate hand, summoning a transparent Vengeful Spirit to shield her. As the transparent Vengeful Spirit absorbed the needles, everyone could see each needle piercing its body. The tips of the needles suddenly melted, releasing a black liquid that soaked into the Vengeful Spirit's transparent form, causing it to swell dramatically. 0

Realizing something was wrong, Xia Lian's expression changed slightly. It seemed she anticipated the consequences. With a swift kick, she sent the Vengeful Spirit flying toward the ten members of the Cult. Just as it reached the center between them and Xia Lian, the Vengeful Spirit exploded. The black liquid splattered onto three members of the Cult, who immediately covered their faces in pain and collapsed to the ground, rolling a few times before lying still. 0

The remaining seven members of the Cult charged at her with swords drawn. Xia Lian concentrated her energy into her palms and pulled out more than ten feather needles embedded in the ground, launching them at the approaching Cult members. One member was pierced and fell dead, while six others deflected the needles with their swords. One Cult member lunged forward, raising his sword to stab at her chest. 0

Xia Lian shifted lightly on her feet; the sword narrowly missed her right shoulder as she maneuvered behind this Cult member. With a sharp shout, she struck him on the back with her palm, causing him to spit blood and fall lifelessly to the ground. 0

Seeing another companion fall, the remaining five Cult members were enraged and attacked simultaneously with their long swords. As Xia Lian spun around to evade them, one member twisted his wrist and aimed his sword at her lower abdomen. Realizing how fast it was coming, Xia Lian had no choice but to halt her movement and defend herself. She slapped down on the incoming sword with her right hand, forcing it into the ground while simultaneously striking at the Cult member's throat with her left hand. He gasped in pain as she seized his sword and stabbed him dead. 0

The four remaining Cult members attacked furiously. A smile appeared at the corner of Xia Lian's mouth as she lightly tapped her left foot and soared over one member's head, decapitating him with a single stroke. Another member increased his strength and clashed swords with Xia Lian's weapon; she felt pain in her hands and lost grip on her sword as it fell to the ground. One Cult member lunged at her with his long sword just as she stepped back to evade. 0

However, another Cult member delivered a flying kick that struck Xia Lian in the chest. The impact sent her rolling on the ground in excruciating pain. Quick to react, she sprang back up just as three furious Cult members surrounded her. In their domain within the Hall of Malevolence, they had always been respected and feared by others; they were used to being the ones inflicting harm rather than receiving it. 0

Despite Xia Lian's youth, her strength was formidable; she had already taken down several enemies. The murderous intent in the eyes of these three Cult members diminished significantly as they realized she was not easy to deal with anymore. They no longer underestimated her; Xia Lian heightened her guard without daring to relax for even a moment while glancing at the Arbitrator standing nearby. 0

For Xia Lian, dealing with these Cult members should not have been difficult under normal circumstances; however, she was not in optimal condition for battle. Moreover, these ten Cult members had clearly undergone special training from the Arbitrator and employed tactics specifically designed for combat against individuals like herself. The three remaining Cult members formed a triangular formation around her, launching wave after wave of attacks that compressed any openings for escape. 0

Xia Lian barely managed to evade one strike only for another to follow closely behind. The gaps in her movements became increasingly narrow; sometimes she could not react quickly enough to avoid an attack and could only rely on instinctive steps to dodge within a limited range. 0

Xia Lian primarily relied on summoning Spirits for assistance in battle; having lived many years already, her ability to call upon Spirits was undoubtedly at its peak. Yet faced with these three attackers' relentless assaults, she found herself unable to free up any hands for counterattacks. Her reactions had slowed significantly compared to before as these three Cult members continued their unending barrage with their long swords swirling around her. 0

The Arbitrator watched with a sneer, "Xia Lian, it seems your strength is running out." 0

Gritting her teeth, Xia Lian forced herself to respond, "Even if I die here, it doesn't matter. Someone will avenge me!" 0

Seeing Xia Lian's desperate resistance, the Arbitrator burst into laughter. "Someone will avenge you? Are you referring to Ji Zichen?" 0

In the midst of their exchange, a long sword grazed Xia Lian's right arm, crimson blood flowing over the metallic blade. Xia Lian realized that the Arbitrator was trying to distract her. Remaining calm, she noted the wound on her arm. Gritting her teeth, she quickly wiped her left hand across the blood on her palm and with a swift motion, sent a mist of blood towards the three Cult members, blinding them. 0

In an instant, their eyes turned crimson, bulging before bursting open, and the three Cult members fell dead. 0

At this moment, Xia Lian was exhausted and half-kneeling on the ground. "That's right," she said. "It is him. Although he has escaped for now, I know that if you use the Evil God’s power to harm this world, he will come for you!" 0

Suddenly, the Arbitrator laughed heartily. "Don't you feel it? Ji Zichen is on his way here right now!" 0

Xia Lian felt a mix of anger and joy; she was glad that Ji Zichen hadn’t abandoned her but furious at his foolishness in coming here. 0

The Arbitrator grinned darkly. "You seem quite confident in this person. Well then, I'll do you a favor and ensure he joins you in the underworld." 0

Xia Lian had no doubt about the Arbitrator's words; with the Evil God’s Soul already within him, his senses were beyond ordinary comprehension. She absolutely did not want Ji Zichen to come here and meet his death. The only option left was to find a way to escape. Xia Lian hurled her sword at the Arbitrator, but he merely flicked a finger to deflect it away. 0

As she threw the sword, she had already begun to leap off the platform. However, the Arbitrator manifested a Double Image and blocked her escape route. He grabbed Xia Lian by the back of her neck and lifted her up, laughing maniacally. "Don't be in such a hurry to leave; the show hasn't even begun." 0
