Chapter 79 - Flower Sea Hall 0

Shen Bifan was taken aback, frowning slightly, her face flushing with anxiety. "Are we really going to starve to death here?" 0

Ji Zichen, equally frustrated, blurted out a response without thinking. She hadn't expected Shen Bifan to take it seriously. Not wanting to add unnecessary pressure, Kiko smiled and said, "You really believe that? Don't worry, as long as I'm here, how could we possibly starve?" 0

Shen Bifan thought for a moment and nodded, forcing a smile. "Brother Zichen, am I being too timid?" 0

Kiko glanced at her and replied, "Who’s more timid than you? Just think about it—if you weren't particularly brave, how could you have lived with the Divine Clan for so long?" 0

Shen Bifan paused, reflecting on Kiko's words. Realizing Kiko was teasing her, she pretended to be indignant and huffed, "Brother Zichen, are you making fun of me?" 0

Kiko laughed. "So now you're not so scared anymore?" 0

Shen Bifan nodded; after Kiko's laughter, she indeed felt much more relaxed. 0

Her eyes shifted as she pondered a question. "Brother Zichen, there's something I want to ask you." 0

Seeing her serious demeanor, Kiko straightened up. "What is it?" 0

Shen Bifan looked worried. "Maybe I'm worrying too early, but what if Chuyu Sister really comes back? What will we do then?" 0

Fearing that Kiko might not understand her concern, Shen Bifan added, "What I mean is, it's great if Chuyu Sister comes back, but what if she becomes..." 0

Kiko knew exactly what Shen Bifan was implying. Before she could finish her thought, Kiko felt a surge of anger rise within her and abruptly interrupted with a stern tone, "That will never happen!" 0

Shen Bifan had never seen Kiko so angry; she was momentarily stunned. 0

Noticing Shen Bifan looking down with her hair falling over her forehead and obscuring her eyes, Kiko's expression softened with concern. "I'm sorry, Bifan. I don't even know why I got so angry." 0

Shen Bifan's delicate eyebrows twitched lightly as she nervously bit her lip, trying hard to suppress the unease in her heart. "I shouldn't have done this, Chuyu Sister, Brother Zichen, please don't be angry with me." 0

Ji Zichen's gaze dimmed as he replied, "I'm not angry with you. In fact, I'm worried about you too. But I can't let her life end like this. After all, coming back to life is a good thing. I will definitely find a way to revive her, no matter how slim the chances of success may be." 0

Hearing that Ji Zichen was not upset, Shen Bifan felt her mood suddenly brighten. With a smile as radiant as a flower, she said, "Yes, Brother Zichen, you're right. Being able to come back to life is indeed a good thing." 0

Though the words were Ji Zichen's, there was still a shadow in his heart. He said, "I don't know if what I'm doing is right or wrong, but I can only do it this way." 0

Ji Zichen suddenly stopped in his tracks and glanced at the Five Elements Pearl. "Walking like this is too time-consuming; let me see if I can find a way out." 0

The maze was essentially an illusion. When Ji Zichen had encountered the Judge in Underworld Town, he had used the Water Rope to find a way out. Although he wasn't very confident, he felt he had to try. 0

"Five Lotus Water." 0

The water beads dimmed slightly, but the entire maze was silent. After waiting for a moment without seeing the Water Rope appear, Ji Zichen exclaimed in surprise, "Could it be that there are too many passages here, and even the Water Rope got lost?" 0

"Dripping." 0

Ji Zichen perked up his ears as he heard an unusual sound; however, it wasn't the sound of the Water Rope. 0

Ji Zichen stiffened. "Huh?" 0

Seeing Ji Zichen's strange reaction, Shen Bifan asked curiously, "What's wrong?" 0

Noticing Shen Bifan's inquisitive gaze fixed on him, Ji Zichen asked, "Did you hear any sounds?" 0

Shen Bifan looked puzzled. "Sounds? No, I didn't hear anything." 0

Ji Zichen felt a surge of unease. It was so quiet here; how could she not hear such a peculiar sound? She gestured for Shen Bifan to be silent. Seeing Ji Zichen's mysterious demeanor, Shen Bifan couldn't help but feel anxious as both of them perked up their ears to listen. 0

"Dripping." 0

The sound started again, and Ji Zichen immediately whispered, "I heard it clearly!" 0

She pointed towards the third column passage ahead. "The sound is coming from here!" 0

--- 0

"Hey! No escape for you!" This voice came from the monster outside the passage. 0

Yuxuan realized that the ring's power was useless against it and thought about fleeing. 0

With a push of her foot, she was about to leap into the air when the monster lunged at her like a great roc spreading its wings. Yuxuan felt both alarmed and irritated. "This monster is really persistent! Take this!" 0

Seeing no way to escape, Yuxuan decided to fight back. She threw a punch at the monster as it pounced down on her. With no solid ground to leverage, Yuxuan delivered a heavy blow to the monster's abdomen, feeling only a soft, yielding force in return. 0

The monster grabbed Yuxuan by the neck with its claw and slammed her against the wall, laughing heartily. "My princess, your strength is useless against me. When will you learn?" 0

Its sharp claws tightened around her throat. Yuxuan wanted to speak but could only manage muffled sounds. 0

The monster observed her struggle and said, "Don't thrash about. Don't worry; I'll give you some reassurance. I won't kill you now because someone is waiting to meet you." 0

--- 0

Ji Zichen and Shen Bifan followed the sound into the passage, but once inside, they found nothing. Shen Bifan couldn't help but ask, "Brother Zichen, did you hear wrong?" 0

Ji Zichen hesitated, but his voice rang out twice as he said, "I didn't hear wrong; I definitely heard a sound coming from here." 0

As the two of them reached the center of the passage, the sound of thundering hooves suddenly echoed through the corridor. However, they saw no horses in sight. The noise indeed originated within their line of vision. Suddenly, a massive stone block fell from above, startling Ji Zichen. A stone over ten feet wide came crashing down towards him. The passage was so narrow that only one person could stretch their arms wide. With the stone falling so suddenly, there was no way for Ji Zichen to evade it. 0

But something strange happened right before Ji Zichen's eyes. Although the stone struck him, it passed through his body like a ghost and smashed into the ground, shattering into countless fragments. Dust and debris filled the corridor, obscuring Ji Zichen and Shen Bifan's view. Amidst the haze, shadowy figures began to emerge—first one pair, then two pairs, gradually increasing in number—until suddenly ten soldiers burst forth from the dust. 0

These soldiers were clad in different types of armor; some wore deep black armor while others donned Azure Armor. Leading the charge were the soldiers in Deep Black Armor. As the Azure Armor soldiers caught up, both sides immediately clashed in battle. 0

As the dust settled, Shen Bifan finally grasped the situation. This was no maze; it was a forest where two groups were locked in fierce combat. Shen Bifan shouted, "Brother Zichen! Have we escaped the maze?" 0

Ji Zichen trembled at this revelation but had no explanation to offer. 0

The forest floor was littered with vines that ensnared the legs of the Deep Black Armor soldiers' horses, causing many riders to tumble to the ground. 0

Someone shouted in an attempt to stabilize their ranks, but instead, chaos ensued. 0

From Ji Zichen's left came a low groan. He glanced over and saw two Deep Black Armor soldiers pinned to a large tree by arrows that had pierced their chests. 0

The forest was filled with chaotic shouts; Deep Black Armor soldiers were either busy fending off attacks from Azure Armor soldiers or trying to calm their startled horses. 0

Suddenly, someone yelled out, and a bolt of purple lightning crackled with immense energy, striking several places throughout the forest. 0

One bolt hit an Azure Armor soldier within Ji Zichen's line of sight, sending him straight to hell. Although his death was gruesome, the remaining soldiers showed no signs of retreating; they charged forward relentlessly to engage their standing foes. 0

The lightning undoubtedly came from a magical artifact, but with hundreds of people around, Ji Zichen couldn't discern who was wielding it. 0

At that moment, a gust of wind swept through as if affected by the attack; dust swirled around them while leaves danced in the air. In the distance, flickering flames could be seen—apparently some soldiers were exchanging fire arrows. One arrow whizzed past and landed at Ji Zichen's feet with a thud. 0

"Regroup!" someone shouted. "Regroup and fall back!" 0

At that moment, many massive Green Demon Eagles caught the scent of blood and suddenly swooped in from all directions, surrounding both sides. The soldiers swung their weapons wildly in a frenzy, yet not a single feather was struck down. 0

Both sides were already exhausted from the battle, and the arrival of the Green Demon Eagles added a new layer of danger. The chaos caused by the eagles left them with no time to continue their fight against each other. 0

The horses, frightened by the Green Demon Eagles, neighed loudly. Several soldiers were thrown to the ground by the panicked horses. Those soldiers who fell became easy targets for the Green Demon Eagles, which seized the opportunity to snap at them. Under the immense biting force of the eagles, armor felt as fragile as paper. 0

At that moment, a distant and ethereal voice echoed through the air. "You two do not belong here. Follow the butterfly; it will guide you." 0

As soon as the voice faded, a Fire Butterfly appeared before Ji Zichen and Shen Bifan, its wings spread wide. The butterfly fluttered past Ji Zichen's shoulder and flew behind them. Shen Bifan exclaimed, "Brother Zichen, someone told us to follow the butterfly. Did you hear that?" 0

Ji Zichen's face tightened. "We should go." 0

The Fire Butterfly led them out of the chaotic battleground. Before long, they found themselves in a maze that seemed untouched by any conflict. However, Ji Zichen could still faintly hear the sounds of fighting in the distance, which soon faded away. 0

Ji Zichen began to feel uneasy. What was happening? Why were they moving from a forest to a maze? Did the one guiding them with the Fire Butterfly have ulterior motives? 0

As they navigated through the passageway, the Fire Butterfly suddenly burst into flames with two soft pops and vanished like scattered dust. 0

Looking around, Ji Zichen realized they had arrived in a spacious hall. Sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the outside world where birds sang joyfully. In front of them stood a slightly ajar door. Ji Zichen exchanged glances with Shen Bifan before heading toward it. 0

As Ji Zichen pushed open the door, his heart lifted at what he saw: another grand hall filled with countless blooming flowers in vibrant colors, seemingly welcoming their new guests. 0
