Because it was clear that things inside were not ready yet, Chen Rui naturally did not intend to go in and make a fool of himself. Instead, he took Li Xue's hand and began to stroll around Jian Guo Hotel. By the time they returned to the entrance, they could see the groom and bride along with several groomsmen and bridesmaids standing at the door to welcome guests.
Li Xue wrapped her arm around Chen Rui's, smiling as she pulled him toward the entrance.
The groom and bride noticed the couple approaching and greeted them with broad smiles. However, when they saw Li Xue holding onto Chen Rui, they couldn't help but pause for a moment.
They had initially thought that Chen Rui must have some remarkable qualities or that he had somehow caught Li Xue's fancy to win her over. But now it seemed that it was Li Xue who had taken the initiative to pursue Chen Rui!
After exchanging a few words of blessing, Chen Rui led Liang Yu into the hotel. At the guest registration area near the main entrance, he placed down a gift box filled with red envelopes along with a thin red envelope.
The staff at the registration desk looked at the well-dressed young couple carrying only one thin red envelope with a hint of disdain in their eyes.

There were about thirty tables in the hall, each seating six people, making the total number of guests likely under two hundred. Each table was marked with a number, but Chen Rui and Li Xue had no idea where they were supposed to sit since no one had guided them to their seats.
Sitting anywhere would surely be inappropriate. Left with no choice, Li Xue and Chen Rui wandered over to the window to look outside and distract themselves from the awkward situation.
Before long, the staff member who had just received their red envelope approached them and slightly bowed. "Sister Li, Mr. Chen, I sincerely apologize for keeping you waiting; I was busy with other matters."
It seemed that this person had just been checking the back of the red envelopes for their messages while registering guests, thus noticing Chen Rui and Li Xue's names.
"Your seats are at Table Two; please feel free to choose your spots!" The staff member bowed again, and Chen Rui could clearly see beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
"Got it! Thank you!" Li Xue replied cheerfully as she pulled Chen Rui toward Table Two.
The tables at the wedding venue were arranged in eight rows with four tables each. Table Two was the second table from the left in the first row, which should logically be one of the closest tables to the wedding stage. This position also indicated that Liang Yu and Wang Zhongshuai held them in high regard within the arrangement of tables for the banquet.
"You're only sitting here because of me!" Chen Rui glanced at the table and smiled wryly at Li Xue.
Li Xue shrugged. "Come on, I think it's because Liang Yu still has a connection with you, which is why she saved you a seat!"
"She's getting married! What are you talking about?" Chen Rui playfully poked Li Xue's nose, and she stuck out her tongue, swinging her fists at him.
Gradually, the guests began to arrive at the hotel. The reception at the entrance was so busy that all the groomsmen and bridesmaids were overwhelmed. The groom and bride were quickly whisked backstage for last-minute touch-ups as the wedding was about to begin.
At exactly noon, the curtains in the banquet hall were drawn shut, the lights dimmed, and conversations among guests ceased as all eyes turned to the entrance.
As Mendelssohn's Wedding March began to play, the doors of the banquet hall swung open, revealing Wang Zhongshuai leading Liang Yu, who wore a flowing wedding gown. They slowly walked toward the altar.
A wave of applause erupted as the two newcomers looked a bit shy at the sight of all their guests, yet their fingers remained tightly intertwined.
At that moment, Liang Yu's and Wang Zhongshuai's parents also stepped onto the altar. The host first handed the microphone to the groom's father.
Wang Zhongshuai's father was a tall man in his fifties; time seemed not to have affected his stature. He took the microphone and addressed the guests. "Ladies and gentlemen, today is a momentous occasion for my son Wang Zhongshuai and my daughter-in-law Liang Yu. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend this wedding."
"In this moment, as I see these two newlyweds stepping into the sacred hall of marriage and holding such a grand ceremony, I am filled with excitement and joy. To my son and daughter-in-law: from this day forward, you are both adults. The host took back the microphone and smiled. "It truly is a blessing for a son to find such a wonderful daughter-in-law! Now let's hear from the bride's parents!"
Liang Yu's father was a slender man with an intellectual demeanor, but his voice rang out powerfully, making it hard to believe it belonged to him. "Once again, thank you all for taking time out of your day to attend my daughter's wedding! Most of you have watched or accompanied this child as she grew up! I especially appreciate your care over the years!"
"Just now, when I saw my daughter walking down the aisle, I remembered the first time I held her hand—back in the hospital! From that moment on, I held her hand as she became part of our family!"

A wave of applause surged through the room as many young women and bridesmaids discreetly wiped away tears. True love is only truly appreciated when one is on the verge of losing it.
Wang Zhongshuai nodded and said, "I will take good care of her!"
He held Liang Yu's right hand tightly, squeezing it even more with his left hand that was already in her palm.

"I promised my daughter there would be no onions." Liang's Father smiled at Wang Zhongshuai and nodded slowly.
Liang Yu wiped away the tears that were about to fall with a tissue and joked, "Dad, you cut so many onions!"
Liang's Father chuckled and took a deep breath. "From now on, you must walk your own path! When I see your back getting further away from me, I truly feel reluctant!"

Liang's Father's words resonated deeply; the entire wedding venue fell silent as everyone listened attentively to his heartfelt speech that felt like life wisdom.
"In short, listening to Dad's advice is never wrong! Because my experience is rich." Just as the atmosphere became serious, Liang's Father lightened it up again with an unexpected joke, causing the guests to laugh and release the tears they had been holding back.
"Finally, I want to speak to Zhongshuai!" Liang's Father leaned forward to look at Wang Zhongshuai. "I cherish this child Liang Yu very much. I’m handing my daughter over to you. As long as you follow the instruction manual for use! I give you a hundred years of warranty! If there’s a problem, go back to the original factory; don’t try to fix it yourself!"
"Hahaha!" This humorous entrustment eased some of the heavy pressure Wang Zhongshuai had just felt, and the guests were also amused by this entertaining father.
"Lastly, I wish all the guests good health and may your past be smooth sailing! For those who are married, may your marriage be fulfilling and your family happy! For those who are not yet married, may you quickly meet your beloved and find happiness soon!"
The host smiled as he took back the microphone, expressing with a hint of emotion, "This father is quite humorous, effortlessly passing the heavy burden onto the groom."
"Alright! Now let's have the bride and groom exchange their wedding rings and write down their eternal vows of love."
Liang Yu and Wang Zhongshuai slowly removed the already exchanged wedding rings and placed them into each other's palms, then gently slid them onto each other's left ring fingers.
After both sets of parents stepped off the stage, the host continued, "Now let's have the bride and groom open the champagne!" Just as he finished speaking, a bridesmaid walked up from the audience, holding a large bottle of champagne, which she handed to the groom.
The large bottle of champagne filled dozens of fluted glasses. A groomsman then wheeled in a cart with a cake onto the ceremony stage. Wang Zhongshuai held Liang Yu's hand as they began to cut the cake.
After cutting the cake, it was time for the wine ceremony. Knowing that they would soon be toasting at each table, Wang Zhongshuai cleverly decided on Ice Wine for their toast—low in alcohol content, visually appealing, and delicious. Most importantly, Liang Yu was not accustomed to drinking white or red wine.
Once the host announced that the banquet had officially begun, it was nearly one o'clock. Wang Zhongshuai and Liang Yu were immediately escorted backstage by the bridesmaids and groomsmen to change clothes and eat. In ten minutes, they would need to toast at each table.
"Wow, they are really busy!" Li Xue remarked as she watched the newlyweds rush off the ceremony stage.
"Hmph! If it were your wedding, there would probably be several times more guests, and they wouldn't all be familiar faces!" Chen Rui laughed at Li Xue, imagining how many bosses from top Chinese companies would show up to present her with red envelopes if she were to get married.
"Dream on! When I get married, I won't invite anyone except close relatives and friends! And if anyone shows up uninvited, they won't be allowed in!" Liang Yu declared with a strong sense of authority.
Is this what the Li Family is like? Chen Rui thought with a wry smile.
